For 8 years now, SSA has told me that I had an overpayment from 2008-2011. I had asked them time…read moreand time again to show me a record of these overpayments, and they have never done so. Recently I have asked my Congressman Mike Doyle's office to get involved and that was some 7 months ago. SSA is filled with workers that do not understand what they are doing. I have received so many mixed messages that I honestly believe, "one had doesn't know what the other is doing." One time I called the 800# (1-800-772-1213) last year in 2018, and they told me that do not understand why they are saying that I owe $75,000. I told them they had never shown me a record of this and that when I call my local office, they get upset with me and hang up, stating I am being abusive. This was the rep that advised me I should contact my Congressman, which I did, still to no avail. I just contacted my Senator last night. Hopefully this will be resolved soon because they are now garnishing my wages (and I do not make much money) and also my tax refunds.

I'm having a serious issue with a Social Security Overpayment since 2011. In May 2011, I received a…read moreletter from SSA stating that they overpaid me $37,000 due by the 4th of the next month. I immediately contacted my local Social Security office. The SSA rep at the local office advised that I needed a waiver to proceed with possibly getting the overpayments waived. I completed the form, gave all the required documentation and the representative advised that the waiver will take several weeks to process. On Jan 17, 2012, I received a letter from Maryland SSA claiming that I owed not only $36,700.00 but also a $962.00 overpayment. Again, I contacted AL and local office and they advised that I didn't need to send payment to the AL office because that it was still being reviewed. For the 3rd time, I received a letter stating that they had just received the waiver and advised it was still being reviewed even though I had sent the waiver in 8 month earlier to the SSA local office. I received a call from Tracy Hill claiming to be a rep with SSA. She told me that I needed to set up a payment arrangement or they may take my Tax refund If I have any available. I asked her if she thought the waiver would be approved and she said," The chances are not good that It will be waived". I told her that I wanted to know if the waiver was approved or denied before I made any payment arrangements. She then told me," They will snatch the tax refund". In March 2013, I sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau claiming negligence on the part of SSA. I spoke with Brian Walker, who was very helpful, from the Salisbury office. He referred me to my local office. I received a call from local office from a Mrs. Hair. I contacted the office and advised that no Mrs. Hair worked there but there was a Mrs. Harrison. When I was able to make contact with Mrs. Harrison on the phone. She told me that Mr. Clark was working on the case and she needed to speak with him but was unable due to him being out of the office. The next time I spoke with her she told me," Mr. Clark has not scanned the waiver in the system and I need to send another waiver". In May 23, 2013, I sent the 2nd waiver to the local office. I again for the 7th time received a billing statement from AL stating that I owned $962.60 due by the next month. The rep at SSA told me that the billing statement was sent in error and to disregard notice. I submitted a letter to the Office Disability Adjunction and review in VA complaining on how the SSA has been handling the case. I received a response from this office and they forwarded to the correct office for review. On June 5th, 2013, I received a letter stating that the SSA wants to meet for a personal conference at local office. I scheduled a time to meet with Mrs. Parker. The purpose of the visit was to meet with Parker to validate debt for $37,000. I brought my document and Mrs. Parker has information. She gave me documentation that didn't validate the debt. She gave me my earning and the months that I was not supposed to receive the SSA benefits. I added up the total of the overpayments and It was incorrect by almost $10,000.00. The personal conference wasn't personal at all. We met at the window and the meeting was very impersonal. I asked for copies of the documents and she said the copier broke. She even filled in several months of payments that were overpaid on a non receipt document that she filled out right in front of me. It's August 8, 2013, it has been over 45 days and no calls or letter from any SSA office. I checked my fico credit report and found a collection listing from SSA/office for $37,000.00 with no response from SSA whether the waiver was approved or denied. On August 13, 2013, I filed a dispute on Equifax.com the location where I found the trade line for $37,663.00. After investigating the dispute Equifax found that the debt was valid and the confirmation was giving from SSA Office of Financial Policy at 1155-10 Jamaica Avenue, SSA Office, 11th Floor, Jamaica, NY 11432. I immediately did research on this office and found no results on the internet. received a call from Tom Ferraro in regards to the trade line on my Equifax credit report. He was calling me from the Jamaica office in NY. He stated that he would remove the trade line within 30 days however the listing may appear on the credit reports later on. I advised that the amount on the statement was incorrect and I would file a suit if it appears on the credit report. received a call from Tom Ferraro in regards to the trade line on my Equifax credit report. Examiner Woods had told me some helpful information which was that if you bring back the additional document within 24 hours of the initial application for a new license, then you will not be charged anything additional. If it's over 24 hours then it'll cost you. To be honest, I don't know if that is only from the license plate agency or any proof of documentation because I informed her that's where I was headed next. I returned early the following day as suggested by examiner Woods. Google states that it' opens at 8 o'clock, but it does in facr open at 7 AM. There was no wait at all, and I was helped by examiner Stallworth. Again, initially the vibe wasn't great, but then I struck up a conversation with her and she turned out to be very pleasant and friendly. I think that a lot of the public service workers get treated like crap so often that they're expecting people to be rude, unfortunately. Don't treat them like they're there to serve you, treat them like a human being, as they deserve. You'll both have a better experience.

Of course, they did so I gathered all the necessary documents and took him earlier this week. The first employee we encountered wasn't necessarily rude, but she didn't really explain anything. Just looked at our documents (which I assumed met the criteria) and gave us a number and told us to wait until we were called. The second employee was very rude. I walked up to the desk with my son when the number was called and she told me, "(smacks lips) Uh...you can go sit down." I told her I was paying and she said, "Just give him the cash or your card then...". It was just unnecessary rudeness and I didn't appreciate it. Pros: I was able to schedule him an appointment. When we got there, there was only one person so we were in and out in under 30 minutes. He passed! Cons: RUDE EMPLOYEES! Listen, I have had to work with the public in the past so I know it can be difficult. I have no issue with workers being firm, but to be RUDE AND NASTY for no reason is unacceptable--especially when my tax dollars help fund these places. DO BETTER! I'll probably go to another location.

We got the mother lode when we drilled a well. We now have water that is not piped up from the lake of fire in Hell. The system to clean the water was more expensive than you can image. Regularly. It took a while but bless their hearts for making it happen!!! I too, got an astronomical bill, but I did find what had happened, toilet in our bonus area (not a regular visit) was running for about a month. When corrected, they were right back at the usual. Thank you MHUD!!

Our water has been interrupted for various lengths of time for water lines being cut by the fiber installers many times over the past 2 months. We got a boil notice for the outage in December but I have not seen a boil notice for none of them. My July bill was for around $900 which, I think is around 70,000 gallons of water, or enough to fill 4 or 5 swimming pools. The July bill was sent out late so the money was taken out of my banking account before I got the bill. I only get social security and had to borrow money to pay my mortgage payment. What is worse is that I have been unable to find evidence of a leak. I looked under the house, checked the toilet and sinks and other things using water in the house. To have used that much water it had to be in excess of a gallon per minute for a period of weeks. I found no problems and yet when I turn every thing off using water in the house the spinner does not move on my water meter. I have not done any repairs to anything. They sent someone out about a week and a half ago but have not contacted me since.
