Minor Hill of course has a monopoly on water services and are separate from our utilities for electric. We live in Pulaski, TN and our water comes from Minor Hill. Minor Hill offers no payment online and they do allow you to pay online through a 3rd party website called Dock; however, whether your paying on it or at one of the few locations they allow you to pay at like a bank, either way the water department office doesn't know what is paid or not. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. They will cut your water off just like that, exactly 10 days after due date. So, you can have a paid account yet still get it water turned off. This has also happened with another person in pulaski that has a similar name but totally different address and she can have an unpaid bill and mine paid yet minor hill will accidentally cut my water off. This has happened at least twice. You would think a business especially that works with addresses would cross reference an account before cutting it off.
Also if you call them literally first thing when they open on the 10th day after due date, and before the trucks come to turn your water off, they'll still charge you the same disconnect fee as if the trucks came to your house to turn your water off.
Another thing besides mixed up cutoffs and payments is that my family and I use about the same amount of water every single month. We take the same amount of showers, wash the same amount of clothes, etc and yet our bill will vary greatly. It can be $65 one month and then $165 or higher another month. My water bill has been as high as $200, and no people there were NO WATER LEAKS, dripping sinks, or toilet valve problems. I'm serious about the variation and when you call in they just tell you how to read your meter and check for leaks.. well the funny thing is if you don't call in about it they'll keep charging you an arm and a leg for the same amount of water you previously had gotten on another month. They usually do this big variation crap about twice a year. It'll be right about now and then sometime in the summer. These people are crooked. I've lived other places and first off never had as high water bill at those places as my lowest one here in Pulaski, TN. And in addition I never had any of the aforementioned problems with those companies. Minor Hill Utility District is crooked and the customer isn't always right; it's more like they are always right end of discussion. They're just crooked!!! read more
