When you pass all the requirements of getting a drivers, concealed carry, or commercial license, you get your license. For years Hawaii police have suppressed Constitutional rights of the People by refusing constitutional carry, or concealed carry, unless they saw a reason. Now with the police Department you can pass all the requirements, psychological tests, physical examinations, and still be denied because of prejudice, discrimination, and other unfair hiring practices. I have personally been refused a job in the police department because of these conditions. Many officers that have been hired, were hired because of relatives who are in charge of the hiring process, even though the candidates have been more than substantially proven to not be qualified. After these candidates that the police allow being hired, not much "We The People" can do to remove them, even after several unlawful actions of conduct, problems with their illegal actions, and integrity, (lying about the situations). Body cams help now, but if they were in use years ago. Many police officers with 15-20+ years of service would not still have a job, and hopefully have their pension's removed. Other problems are we keep having find new Police Chiefs faster than we can fill the position with Qualified candidates, and so the continued unlawful recruitment, conduct, and retention continues. Many police officer candidates in the past that past the police officer tests were more than Qualified than several of the Now Officers employed, but were passed up because of the department's Personal Choice, who they were related to, and many other unlawful hiring practices. We can't have lawful enforcement when you hire people that do not think they are subject to the same Laws they Enforce. The washouts have been more than a little extreme, and I'm pretty sure we all know why. Do not get me wrong. Many police are where they should be. At the same time, many should have Never been. Waited 20 minutes, went back in and reminded the same clerk and trainer that I'm still waiting. Another 10 minutes went by and still no supervisor. Went back in because it was now closing time only to be told by a different clerk the supervisor is tied up but at least he filled out a form and took my information for the supervisor to call or email. Such unacceptable customer service by the clerk, trainer and supervisor. And my original issue still isn't resolved after numerous complaints online.

After a quick visit to a business close by, we were told that indeed we were at the correct place, the Hawaii Business Center building. Attaching two photos that may help other customers. The office is on the second story. Our 2 appointments were spaced at 15 minute intervals, but we were out of there in less than 30 minutes. The agent was very pleasant, helpful and efficient. Parking worked out very well, there is a lot to the right of the building, and there was no meter charge.

The workers are proactive and courteous as well keeping the facility looking professional. New paved road and nice convenient recyclable area is friendly to all vehicles. Hopefully the electronics recycling area can be updated with a structure to shelter turn ins.

There is a slight hike so if you aren't physically able, this might be inaccessible for you. Tourists used to be able to access the property below the valley but that has changed since the pandemic (unfortunately). Still, nonetheless it doesn't cost a penny and it's a stunning view.

The state building is located in downtown Hilo, right near the second most important establishment…read morein town: Kawamoto Store This is generally where you'd come if you're planning on applying for a state job or want any sort of state certifications for things. They administer TB tests, do fingerprinting, and all sorts of other things. The building and grounds are maintained very nicely, despite things being a bit dated. That's just kind of what you get with most government agencies around here. Naturally, their parking lot is all metered. That's sort of annoying if you don't really carry around spare change. I'd truly be boned if I didn't have a huge cupholder full of change from going through fast food drive-thrus. All in all, it's a very boring building and if you ever have to be there, it's probably not going to be the highlight of your day, but it is what it is. And for what it is, the place is just fine. I know, a glowing review haha. It's a boring government building, cut me some slack!
