I used to love this place, but the new menu is a bizarre combination of German, Asian/Hawaiian, southern comfort food and maybe... French? I've been twice with the new menu (launched in Nov 2023). The first time I had the four piece chicken (a half chicken, not that the wait staff knew this- I was told it was two breasts and two legs when I ordered). The chicken had general Tso sauce. It was ok, good flavors, but very greasy and sweet. The second time I had the Jagerschnitzel which was PAPER thin, so it was all breading for $33. There was a small smear of gravy under the "meat" (breading)- just not a sensible or satisfying meal. There weren't many lean protein options. I also had green bean casserole both meals (sides are separate). They were pretty different each time. The first time they were thinner/ skinnier green beans and really nicely cooked; the second time they were the more normal type of green beans (fatter) but seemed to be cooked the same amount of time because they were very undercooked and too crunchy. The members of wait staff are very nice but seem understaffed- both times they disappeared for long stretches and the meal took 2 hours because they just didn't seem to have time. Not their fault but disappointing. It seems like a great place to have a drink on the patio in nice weather but I will not be returning for dinner. read more

Food was of high quality, very tasty and enjoyable. We went for a special night out and I was treating our daughter and fiancé to a celebratory dinner. The issue was the service. It started with our server being delayed to get to our table followed by him spilling a drink on my coat to us not having proper silverware to eat our dinner, and then having to find him for our check after waiting 15 or so minutes. I simply wished he'd have acknowledged any of these issues and he did not. As a visitor to OKC, I likely will not be back and would not recommend it. read more

I am so glad we decided to bring a friend out to Social Deck + Dining last night. My fiancé and I had only stopped in once prior for drinks and a snack and loved the atmosphere and the amazing staff! Coming back for dinner we experienced the same hospitality and fantastic cuisine. We started with the hummus tray (which was even better than I remembered) packed with delightfully seasoned veggies and the best naan bread (we actually ended up getting more of it!) For our entrees, I ordered the Garlic Shrimp, my fiancé got the Short Ribs and we got my 3 year old the Mac n Cheese. Love love loved both entrees but my absolute favorite was the Garlic Shrimp!! The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked. They sat atop a bowl of the most amazing brussel sprouts and mushrooms. It was so good I didn't even want to share with my fiancé (despite our previous agreement..haha!). Our little one ate his ENTIRE bowl of Mac n Cheese and loved every spoonful. Dessert was equally impressive. We got the raspberry lemon chiffon cake and the kiddo got ice cream that came with chocolate syrup, crushed Oreos and strawberries. It was the perfect ending. I think the only negative we experienced was that because the restaurant is so open it can get very loud in there. We were seated beside a table of chatty girls who were Soooo loud. They left pretty quick tho so it wasn't too bothersome. The food and service was well worth overlooking this minor issue. We visited on Father's Day for the first time. It was awesome and we're returning this next weekend for a birthday celebration. I had the special which was a fried organic chicken breast that was huge and juicy. My husband had steak frites that just melted in your mouth. We had the lamb meatballs appetizer that was delicious. For dessert I had New York cheesecake and my husband had a fruit cobbler. It was a terrific experience and we're looking forward to taking our friends and trying more menu items. read more

I came barreling in at the end (an hour before closing). This is a gem of a restaurant. My meal was fantastic. I had the hummus for an appetizer....delicious. We initially tried spot as takeout for covid but it was a tasting of a new item on their menu at the time - Chicken Tikka. We're Indians and it didn't taste Indian to us. The goal may have been fusion but it was very tomato-ey and dry. Hence, we've never been since then. We didn't think we gave it a fair shot and have been meaning to check this place out. So glad we did! It's a little higher in price than you average dinner place but it has a great ambiance. We don't know if the curtains separating tables is a thing only for covid but we loved the privacy. Service was prompt, kind, and helpful. I can't say enough about people that check on you and refill waters! Especially with the shortage of staff, little things like that can be difficult to stay on top of these days. We ordered the following: Steak Frites (steak slices, sautéed spinach, and fries). This dish was cooked perfectly. Had a red wine reduction and should've had a horseradish cream sauce on the side. (It didn't actually show up but I forgot all about it until I got home.) Shrimp Louie Salad (poached shrimp, hard-cooked egg, tomato & avocado on greens). The portion wasn't crazy big but just enough. Slightly pricier than I'd like it to be but it was big shrimp so can't complain. The dressing is similar to a thousand island dressing but more acidic. It definitely had a bite but was great as a shrimp dip! I also asked for ranch. It was a house made ranch so there's a win. Our friends had the Baked Eggs (lamb meatballs, plum tomato sauce, feta, flat bread). It looked good and they said it tasted good so I'm going to take their word on it. It looked like there were 3 eggs so this was probably pretty hearty/substantial. The look reminded me of shakshuka (a middle eastern dish). This place has a blueberry cake donut that they known for. We had it a long time ago and I remember my wife really enjoying it. They didn't mention it as a dessert for dinner though but I do see it on the Breakfast/brunch menu. I'm giving this place a solid four stars just on the fact that their customer service is really awesome. We had a party of 12, and didn't want to wait 2+ hours at another restaurant, and Social stepped up and said they could accommodate us immediately. When we arrived our table was already set, and everyone was able to order drinks and food. Me and Sacha had the hummus appetizer to start, and he got a kimchi inspired alcoholic beverage. For our entrees he had the garlic shrimp with Brussels and I had sea scallops with peas, cheese, and pasta. Honestly, my food was decent. I didn't like the hummus at all, it was very plain and a bit too expensive for what it was just vegetables, crackers that didn't taste good, and plain hummus. It didn't have a great flavor. My sea scallops were on the super salty side.. like way over salted. Sacha thought his shrimp was okay but didn't think the Brussels sprouts that were underneath were cooked very well. My little one enjoyed his chicken and fries, and overall it was okay. I don't think any of us will come back, because the food was just not amazing and kind of expensive for what it is. I think they should definitely change their menu due to their current menu not being cohesive. There were Mediterranean, Indian, American, and brunch options. I hope this business stays alive, because we were the only party there on a Saturday evening from 6:30-8PM besides another man at the bar by himself. read more

I decided to give this a second try last night and it was a much better experience the second time around. Bf and I went to dinner and we got there around 730. The host was nice and friendly and sat us immediately. Our waiter was awesome- nice and friendly and funny! I had the lentil soup and salad. Never had these type of lentils before (beluga lentils) and I wasn't a fan. The broth flavor was good! So good that I threw my "no gluten" diet out the window and took the bread into the broth. So good!!! I asked for a large salad with no dressing. I got a small salad with dressing. Eye candy for sure and quite yummy but too small. *BRUNCH REVIEW I wanted to be impressed. I really did. The reviews were great. My experience was just ok. The selection for a Saturday brunch was not up to par for OKC. Our food was ok. It was very pricey especially for the coffee bar drinks. The service was good and helpful but it just didn't make up for the mediocre food. We ordered the chilaquiles and they were super soggy with too much sauce. The black beans were so runny that my whole plate just became mush. The social coffee was ok for $9. When this is all over, the first thing I'm going to do is set up a huge dinner party at Social Deck + Dining. I love everything about this little place. The food is amazing, because they source the most amazing local ingredients, and they put so much love into what they do. For now, I am so thankful I can still order delivery, find their packaged meals at Homeland stores, and even order some amazing family meal packs that are an amazing value. I think part of the reason I love this menu so much is the simplicity of so many of the dishes. It reminds me of Alice Waters restaurant. Knowing the owners, I feel like this is such a reflection of their personalities. Just come in every day, make good food you care about for, people you like. I know they are struggling right now to keep the doors open, and I can't begin to imagine the stress. But to me, the most amazing thing is how many times I have seen the owners reach out and offer to help others. Time and again, I've seen them lift others up, offer support, food, comfort, and even money (which has to be in short supply). These people have to have the biggest hearts of anyone I know. It means even more when you think about the fact that they're not Hal Smith, or Good Egg or even 84 Hospitality. They're just tiny compared to those others. The owners are also taking care of their son, handling his distance learning, trying like all of us to keep it together, and still offering to take care of their community. I have to believe it will work out for these two, because if not, we should really all just pack it in and call it a day. Here's my dream: a beautiful late spring evening on this patio, dressed up (and wearing makeup can you imagine?), surrounded by my best friends, sipping cocktails, eating without regard for carbohydrate counts, switching to wine, ordering dessert, asking the babysitter if she can stay late, ordering more wine, and being more grateful than ever to be alive and outside, and tipping like a maniac. If I manifest this for myself, maybe putting that energy into the world is helpful in some small way. Love you, Jamie and Jordan. I wanted something light, but also filling so, I went with the shrimp Louie salad. I was a little worry since I was afraid it would be bland, but it was surprisingly tasty. Serving size was good with fair amount of toppings such as jumbo size shrimps, slices of avocado, an egg, cucumbers and tomatoes. Ingredients were just fresh tasting. The salad also had a sweet and creamy, tomato, and chili lime dressing. One minor issue was that the slices of avocado were not ripe. For service, our server was very sweet and attentive compared to the manager that first took our drink order. He pretty much skipped me and I actually wanted to get coffee. I ask do they have coffee he says yes then I ask do they have flavor creamer? This answer is no. He does tell me that they have simple syrup and cafe au lait we are like what is simple syrup? So we decide to get it and to both of our amazement we don't have to add sugar we had 3 cups my daughter only had one. I also had a Social Sangria it was just marvelous the color was so pretty . For brunch I had the baked egg, mac n cheese, sweet potato hash. My brother the corned beed hash. My daughter had the chicken and waffle. The best items were the Sangria, Sweet Potato Hash,that juicy meaty chunks of real corned beef, those cafe au lasts, and the excellent service. I asked Jordan did he own another restaurant and he said that they just bought the Aurora in November. I have to go back for the man n Cheese when they get the right noodles. The owners designed this place with a mantra of "simple done well" and a desire to create a space conducive to openness and mingling. There are two patios, and inside you can swish between the bar, communal high tops, window seating, regular tables, or move to more intimate booths or two-tops. It's basically the perfect space for a networking meet-up or happy hour. Decoration is simple and classy, with local art all around and two telescopes (which I LOVED) Social Hour is from 3-6p M-F and they have a a list of plates and beverage specials from $3-5 for drinks (get the Club Social, it's their take on a Club special and it was fabulous). The menu is internationally varied with an "American comfort food" feel. Everything they use is fresh and thoughtfully sourced... the places they get it from are listed and they're happy to talk to you about them too. And like in all my reviews, I gotta give love for their accommodation of dietary restrictions, and a number that are very willingly adjusted to meatless or gluten-free diners. My group tried a number of plates and we very very strongly recommend the following (like 100% get these unless you're deathly allergic). We ate too much and couldn't get to dessert but next time... my eye is on the fresh blueberry donuts. I'm also 100% coming back for brunch. they have 5 different bloodys and I want to try them all. We stumbled upon Social Deck + Dining by chance, but I'm so glad we did. This weekend we had the pleasure of holding our wedding reception here at The Social. Jamie and Jordan were incredibly easy to work with during the planning process and the day of the event. We didn't have to worry about a thing. The food was everything that was promised--"simple done well"..more like simply amazing!! Every one kept coming up to us to tell us what a perfect location this was and how great the service and food was. We can't say enough about this beautiful space and the gem of a couple that is running it. We have eaten here a few times and their menu is an eclectic mix of comfort brunch foods. The service, food presentation, and taste has had consistency that I find many restaurants struggle to achieve.
