Chelese, the event manager was extremely easy to work with and the staff was very helpful. I expected the food to be good but it was truly outstanding. I've rarely been to an event for a large number of people where the food was so exceptional and many guests raved about it. I strongly recommend the University Club as a venue for your event.

I absolutely love the University Club of Palo Alto!…read more For me, the highlight is the pool. I love swimming here--there's an excellent lap pool where you can sign up for lanes, a diving board for extra fun, and plenty of open swim time for families. Kids can't get enough of the swim team, and there's even a shaded baby pool that's perfect for infants and toddlers. The tennis courts are top of the line, whether you're playing just for fun or competitively. The tennis pros are fantastic, and the whole tennis community here is great. Pickleball is also really taking off--it's always fun and social. The gym has everything you could want: Peloton bikes, free weights, machines, and a full range of classes. Beyond fitness, people also gather for bridge, mahjong, and other activities, so there's something for everyone. The food is excellent, the full bar is always a plus, and the events calendar is packed. There are great adult activities (salsa dancing, wine tasting, Aloha nights) and plenty for kids too (kids' night out, movie night, and more). Best of all, the community is welcoming and friendly. It's easy to meet people here, and many members end up making lifelong friends. All around, it's a wonderful club--I can't recommend it enough!

The fitness center, although it looks run down, here has all the equipment you need and never gets as busy as 24 hour fitness or equinox. I haven't tried it yet, but have noticed the bowling alley and tennis courts. The monthly Bingo events are always something fun to look forward to. I did not realize how intense the games can get, and am still hoping to win one day. They also offer affordable Wednesday night dinners that are catered and the drinks are cheap ($2 beers). If you want to become a member, don't hesitate!

The people here always say hi and are very friendly. I might be on the younger side but don't mind learning from our older members. Everyone here is very respectable and great. I like taking my kids here over the summer to the pool to enjoy. They also have a cantina bar to enjoy a cocktail or beer under the sun. They also have Wednesday night dinners for a reasonable price. Also throughout the year they have many events to enjoy. I would recommend checking them out.

The golf carts are excellent. They have an excellent restaurant here too. The people that work here are great and there's even a guard at the gate. It's in a great location. It's right across from my old high school so it definitely brings back memories. This place is very well maintained. Both bathrooms are very nice and clean with full facilities. They have a tennis court, very clean very nice. They have a swimming pool. They even have a cottage to stay in overnight. This place is very huge. I very much suggest trying out the golf carts. The parking here is very nice. I love the outlook. WEll..its pretty much private too Great place for kids tho.

Note: PRIVATE CLUB…read more Extremely exclusive country club and golf course. Totally old school. Really enjoyed the atmosphere in the men's grill and on the course. The food was fantastic and the beer was cold. I had the Cobb salad and a couple of the guys I was with had Crab Louie's. All were perfect. As for the course...the NCGA usually gets course ratings correct...usually. This is one of those rare exceptions where I think they got it wrong. The course plays a 127 rating from the tips. However, numerous tight approaches, tight tee shots and tricky greens make me think this deserves a 130 or higher. Two holes, with 18 being the most memorable, require a staggering straight tee shot to get to the corner of a 90 degree dog leg. The distance is extremely deceiving as much of the course plays uphill and into the wind. Don't think that 386 yards is going to be an easy green in regulation out here. Be EXTREMELY careful on 15 and 16. A slice on either of these holes will launch a ball directly onto Alameda de las Pulgas, and possibly require you to buy a new windshield. The course, like most country clubs, is in phenomenal shape. The ponds are real, with blooming lily pads and everything. Much different than the concrete-lined, blue toilet water filled munis like Sunnyvale and Shoreline. Great practice facility and nice staff make it a must play if you have the opportunity to get out here.
