Andy is truly the best car mechanic around. He's the reason my family hasn't switched to full electric cars. He does things correctly, charges reasonable rates, is always kind and professional, and has a lot of integrity. He's never once tried to up charge us for anything we do not need, but does offer things if interested. Women and men are often quoted things and treated differently by car mechanics, but he has treated me the same as my husband, if not better haha. My friend, who I referred to him, said he was a bit too pricey for her but then went to a different mechanic. Her dirt cheap mechanic installed the part incorrectly so she had to pay ANOTHER mechanic to get it installed the right way, costing her more than if she had just gotten it done by Andy in the first place. You get what you pay for, and Andy getting it done right. With his integrity, he is worth every penny. Highly recommend & have been recommending him to everyone for ages. I actually started going to this shop because of my fiance, and it was one of the best choices we made. Andy has helped us with almost all of our auto needs! One thing that is a plus here, besides the friendly customer service, is the waiting room and bathroom! I can't stress that enough because I have been through SO many automobile shops where their waiting/bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. There were times I had to stand the whole time for an oil change because they either have no seats or junk seats. With the whole pandemic going on, I tend to stray towards businesses that care about their customers and it goes to show in the smallest details such as (in this shop); A hand sanitizer stand, TV, water, and mini coffee bar is also available in the main office. My husband took the car here to get the brakes fixed since every time we stepped on the brakes the whole car shook. We also wanted to get an overall check up before our trip. Andy fixed the brakes, changed the cabin filter, changed the oil and cleaned up the mess that the last oil change place made. I started coming to Andy a couple years ago with my 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata. I was recommended by Racing Beat in Anaheim. As everyone else says he does great work, honest , and reliable . His prices are very fair. Our family takes all our cars to him. We have a Toyota, Subaru, and Mazda. He is very busy with clients so make sure you make your appointment in advance . Alright, Yelpers here goes. I've been coming to Andy at SoCal Motor Works for 6 years now and this review is long overdue. The amount of time I've been coming here should add some solid credibility to my testimony as a long time customer. A few things you should know about his work. First, the guy is thorough! Just like you'd imagine the most ideal mechanic to be, he checks over everything on the vehicle to ensure it's in spec. And not in some gimmicky Jiffy Lube, "let us replace everything and charge you all we can" way either. In fact, he fixed, tightened, cleaned, and inspected so many things on my humble little Corrolla, I honestly felt like he did not bill me nearly what I should have paid for this level of care. Second, the work is quality. I've never left the shop and had any issues with the work that was done. Never had some of the typical things like overly tightened lugs or a drain plug put on with an impact. It's always done right without cutting corners. Next, Andy is very personable and professional. Never rude or short, no attitude. Always clean and properly dressed. You can tell he has a real sense of these two very important qualities for a customer facing business. Last, just look at the other reviews. These are real people with genuine experiences to share. Before I left the shop today, I asked Andy if he'd like a review on Yelp, "Yeah, sure that would be nice." He wasn't asking for it or fawning to have his work praised. He is very knowledgeable in many cars and explains to me the services I require as well as what it does. I originally lived in OC and had my Subaru serviced here in the past. This is hands down the BEST auto body shop I've ever taken my car into. Andy is extremely professional, courteous, and honest about what your car needs, plus the prices are extremely reasonable and competitive. Regarding lowering springs service: I asked for a quote and my friend recommended Andy. To lower my car with parts I would bring in, he quoted me @ $350. I live closer to Santa Ana and they quoted me @ $250. (I'll be going there).
