Luke came out and tested our water and gave us a thorough explanation on how harsh our water was with a testing kit. We opted to go for a system that was going to best help our kid with eczema. It's only been a few days and we can already see a difference in his skin. Carlos came out or install our system and he gave us a pretty good run down on the equipment and made the install with in about 3 -4 hours!

Ecowater is junk! Don't waste your money on this water…read moresystem. The unit is all plastic and looks/feels very cheap and not well designed. I only bought the Ecowater system because they were featured at Costco. I usually trust Costco, but I think Costco made a big mistake allowing Ecowater to advertise to its members. My Ecowater system only last 4 years and the replacement filters are super expensive. They will charge you $150 minimum to just come out to the house. I finally had enough with Ecowater when my system broke down. I called a friend who gave me the number to her water system guy. I called him up and he came over and told me that the system Ecowater installed was way too small for a house with 6 people. So, the new Water system has a larger capacity, it has a metal housing, the installation was more professional (copper pipes and the waste water pipes were installed along the house (not just running along the dirt ground like Ecowater did).... Totally different! AND it was much less expensive! About the amount that Ecowater wanted to just "FIX" my crummy, small, plastic, sloppy installed piece of junk! And... if that not enough... my new guy will come out to the house and change ALL the filters (every other year) for less than Ecowater will charge to just come out to the house and do NOTHING! Live and learn! Not everything at Costco is to be trusted!

I knew I wanted professionalism, great communication, an outstanding warranty, and a company with years of experience. I found all of that with Sparkling Fresh Water. Chris, the owner and licensed professional, came to both of my homes -- one located in the High Desert -- without any hesitation. He explained every detail of the installation process and patiently answered all 100 of my questions. The installer, Mario, was just as impressive. He was professional, knowledgeable, organized, and left everything spotless after the installation. I was so happy with the experience at my first home that I had them install another water softener at my second home in Chino. Ladies, with all the money we spend on clothes, skincare, and hair products, getting a water softener has honestly been one of the best investments I've made since marrying my husband. I spend good money on my hair and skin, and I noticed a difference immediately! My hair feels softer, my skin feels better, and overall it's been amazing. I truly feel like I found the fountain of youth. Five stars to Chris and Mario!

Then I found Miguel from Polar Water, and I'm so glad I did! Right away, he actually asked me what was wrong with my current system and why I was looking to replace it especially since it was only a few years old. No one else even bothered to ask. We talked about a new system, but instead of just selling me something, he actually checked mine out first. Turns out, it wasn't broken at all just a clogged brine tank. He cleaned it out, replaced a water line, and got everything working again. Super honest, super professional, and didn't try to take advantage of me like the other companies did. If you want someone who actually cares and won't just sell you something you don't need, call Polar Water!

While I didn't get a response via email initially, I called their office and spoke with the Customer Support Manager, Marissa Michel. It's rare to find such honest and responsive customer service these days. If you have any issues, I highly recommend calling and asking for Marissa--she truly cares about customer satisfaction. First and foremost, I would like to thank the EcoWater team for their professionalism and…read morewillingness to help. Their customer service is top-notch and aligns well with the values expected from a Costco-affiliated business. That said, I do have some concerns about the overall process. On Saturday (3/14), I discovered a major leak coming from my EcoWater ECR3700 system. Water was streaming heavily, and initially, I had no way to shut it off. In a panic, I contacted the original installer, Jose, who reminded me about the bypass valve. I was able to engage it, which stopped the main flow from the cracked valve assembly; however, the unit continued to leak. The bypass valve, which is supposed to fully stop water flow, did not perform as expected. Since the leak was at least somewhat controlled, I waited until Monday (3/16) to contact the office. They scheduled an emergency appointment to assess the situation. The emergency visit cost $250, compared to $150 for a standard appointment. Given that I had an active leak through no fault of my own, I felt I had no choice but to proceed with the higher-cost option. The technician confirmed a crack in the valve body but was unable to resolve the leak due to high water pressure. He recommended replacing the pressure regulator. Marissa from the office was very helpful, but the earliest available appointment to replace the water softener was not until Thursday (3/26). I was also informed that the system could not be replaced until the water pressure issue was addressed. This was confusing, as my water pressure has remained the same since the original installation. According to the specification sheet for the ECR/ERR3700 system, it is rated for up to 125 PSI, while my home measured around 100 PSI--high, but still within the system's stated limits. It was unclear why replacement could not proceed under those conditions. After some back-and-forth, I was able to work out a solution with the technician, Charlie, who ultimately replaced both the water softener and the pressure regulator. Overall, I appreciate the efforts of everyone I interacted with at EcoWater. While I disagree with the $250 emergency visit--especially since it did not resolve the leak--I do appreciate that they did not charge additional labor for the final replacement, as the unit was still under warranty. I am hopeful that with the water pressure now reduced to 68 PSI, the system will perform reliably moving forward. Additional Thoughts: If your system is under warranty, the process should be relatively straightforward. However, I do question the potential costs for customers whose systems are no longer covered. The valve body--arguably the most failure-prone component--is made of plastic and carries only a 10-year warranty. While the system advertises a "lifetime warranty," this can be somewhat misleading since the valve body is the part most likely to fail. Most water softeners typically last around 10-15 years, meaning the warranty is most beneficial in cases like mine, where a defect occurs relatively early (within 7 years of installation). The current price for an ECR/ERR3700 system through Costco is approximately $6,000-$7,000, which is on the higher end compared to other options. I have yet to determine whether the added cost delivers proportional value. Side Note: EcoWater also offers under-sink filtration systems. However, I find it difficult to justify their price point, as they use proprietary filters that must be purchased through them. These replacements appear to be significantly marked up. There are many alternative filtration systems available online that offer comparable performance with more affordable, widely available replacement filters.
