She was squirting out products like liquids/gels and scratching up makeup palettes. When I asked her about it, she claimed Ulta didn't even permit employees to take home excess, and that the products included expired and returned items. This really hurt my environment-loving heart. I understand not wanting others to become infected by products used by a previous buyer, but it'd be so easy to only dispose of those, and then either put the expired or excess products on steep clearance, sell to places like TJ Maxx or resellers, donate, or simply let employees put them to good use! All the waste and refusal to even let dumpster divers benefit from Ulta's excess was painful to witness. I wasn't aware of these practices and wish these were more transparent for the prospective consumer. Then, when checking out, only AFTER we made the purchase did the employee disclose we had had $23 worth of rewards that could've been used during our $100 purchase. When we asked then and there if we could return and then re-purchase to use the points, the employee refused. She said that they'd "get in trouble" if they notified customers before they made their purchase about how many points/rewards dollars they could redeem. So corrupt.

The progression of the infections forced this person to seek care at an Urgent care, where they immediately directed them to the emergency room where antibiotics where administered. At the follow up visit, the doctor very jokingly said the on call physician, I believe Dr. Bailey, did not have the on call cell phone turned on that day. Due to this negligence I could have lost a very dear relative to sepsis just in time for Christmas. I understand that infections happen quite easily, but to have the on call phone turned off and ignore a suffering patient is unacceptable. With a background in the medical field, I am simply horrified at the treatment this person received.
