Purchased 3sf of leather. What I received was approximately 2.5sf. It was a piece of leather that was 3ft long and varied from 10" (majority of the width) to a point that was 11" wide. So, I'm missing a half a square foot. When I contacted the company it took a couple days for them to respond and the person that replied seemed very incompetent and didn't seem to understand what my issue was. I will not be ordering from them again. EDIT: Now, after speaking with the person that responded to my Google review through email they are basically calling my a liar because I had to use the leather for a project I needed to get out the door and can't show a new picture of the length. PLEASE DON'T GET RIPPED OFF LIKE I DID! read more

This store does not stand by their products. For the most part employees are great communicators with knowledge about what the store sales. We use to go in there a lot but now find it a waste of time due to a couple of rotten employees. If you buy something than the item you purchase is faulty your stuck with it. So, whats the point going in there? I dont feel like they pay their employees very well due to attitudes with the few that makes the rest look terrible. Just our feeling & thoughts. If you pay more for products than others you should be takemed care of with their blunders.. What they could do better. Taking care of their customers especially folks that has gone in there for years ( we have shopped this store for 20 plus years even when it went under another name ). is the best we can give them. read more

I saw this store on Ebay first, and check out their site. Made my order of over $80. I left a message on order asking for smaller pieces and thinner due to the weight and order size. Well, they did not even bother to read and stuff 4 large thick pieces in a box, not wrapped with plastic to avoid water or extra tape around the ends of the box. It was raining in CA and the box tore on the ends....some leather got dragged on the ground. I then had to pull out my skiving knife and spent a good amount of time to cut them into smaller pieces just to move them around. Overall, they were decent on shipping time and got what I ordered, but their service is very poor. Both in communication and packaging. read more

Kevin is "real". He's good people. Great selection of stuff not to mention invaluable information when needed. The best thing I like is that whatever he tells you, it's "solid". If he says something is nice, it's going to be nice. He is exceptionally trustworthy. With other leather vendors; well let's just say that it still hurts to sit down sometimes and that was a long, long, time ago. I've been ordering from these people for going on 7 years now. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single order I get. Why, after all this time, did i decide to write a review today? Because I just accused them of sending me to poorly cut belt blanks and they were totally ready to send me replacements. After looking at my invoice, I realized that I actually ordered the blanks from another supplier, which why they were substandard. I am so used to ordering Hermann Oak from Springfield that i totally forgot I ordered these from another place. ( I couldn't find the actual listing for Hermann Oak belt blanks on their website so I ordered from another place instead of using the search bar.....) Anyways, I hit them up on Instagram and whoever answered my direct message was the best. They totally understood that I was a big dummy and didn't look hard enough for the actual belt blanks I was looking for, showed me how to find stuff on their website for future use and that was it. never had a rude experience dealing with this company and their products are great.. These wavy belt blanks from another supplier and my terrible short term memory was to blame for this entire last experience, but their customer service handled my "space case" just fine. Great people! I bought a leather designer purse at a yard sale in Cherokee Estates. The purse had been well-used but looked awesome. It was Dolce Gabana. Vintage awesomeness. There was a metal piece that wasn't working right, so I went to this leather place to see what they had. They charged me less than a dollar for a little gizmo. The whole store fascinated me. They have just about every kind of bead you could want, glass, wood, seed beads, quills, huge verity of styles, colors, sizes, and materials. They have all the supply's a jewelry maker, Bead Crafter, Hobbiest could want or need and if they don't have it they find it for you. They have a unbelievable selection of leather, animal hides, fur's, skins, and leather crafting supply's & crafts. This is my favorite store in the area, and first place I stop for leather and beads. I've used Springfield Leather Co's Amazon store to source leather for my Etsy store and never had a problem with their Amazon entity. However, when I used their actual website (springfieldleather.com), I'm stuck waiting 2+ weeks for my leather to ship. This caused a massive delay to a large international order that I got for a wedding and put me behind schedule. I would recommend only using their Amazon entity as they have always shipped within 2-3 days. My guess is that the quantity on their actual website isn't updated as frequently (or at all) so you could be stuck waiting a long time for something that is listed as being available. Person I spoke to on the phone was nice and ensured that the shipment would be sent out the next day; it wasn't. It was sent out 3 business days later. If you're doing business with the online presence of Springfield Leather, use their Amazon store, avoid their actual website. Prices are very agreeable and quality is very good. I would recommend using this company but again, only their Amazon presence. read more

One of the items apparently was not an item that the retail store stocked, but he went in back and found the part number and brought it out to me. This store used to be Tandy Leather, years ago. They have everything you need if you want to make anything with leather. Moccasins, belts, saddles, holsters, aprons, g-strings... AND they also have beads, crafts supplies, and the greatest people who really want to help you. Many are knowledgeable about different leather or jewelry crafts and they will listen to your (craft related) problem...and help you solve it. I dunno, they might even help you with your love life. They are not pesky or aggressive. If you like to make stuff, this is the place to go to find what you need. Ashely was the girl that helped me, she's new, but got me right to everything I needed. It's one of those places you can't just narrow anything down too just one thing you like. After looking at all their beads for about the third time, Ashley showed me another tray that had "the one" I was looking for. A carved bone Celtic Trinity Knot, couple beads later and a piece of leather and I had a new necklace. I work for a non-profit school program in Calif, and we use the leather practice strips so students can brand the old rancho brand and take it with them as part of their 3rd grade history lesson. The absolute best customer service of any store I have ever had. Came in and met with a young lady (Tamara I think, but not sure). She was so polite and kind. I had technical questions about laser engraving with a laser, she went back to get Cameron. While waited, my friend received additional instruction from another employee on a leather issue he was having. Cameron wasn't there but when I came back a day later she remembered who i was. Cameron came out and spent a substantial amount of time helping me learn new techniques. I have never seen this type of individual customer service for customers. I only come to Springfield once a year, but will back every time and will do all my online ordering with them! read more

Every time I go in, there's lots of cool and unique stuff, and everything I've needed has been very good quality and at excellent prices. The staff are always very knowledgeable and super helpful, even when I have no idea what questions I should be asking.
