I thought at first that they were a bakery because they display soaps that are in the shape of cupakes in the window. Once I went in I realized that they were a soap and body shop store, but everything looks so beautiful that I started to browse. I ended up with several gifts for friends and some lotion for myself. Everything has great packaging and they offer such a variety of products. Ask to try some scrub or soap in their demo sink. The reps are so knowledgeable about the products are really great about describing everything. They even offer a punch card that rewards loyalty to their products over time. Soap Cherie-- Is my hidden Gem! My friends also ask me how I get my skin to glow 24/7 (secretly I don't like to give away my secrets but this one is to amazing to keep to myself.) No one believes me till they try it and they only try it when I gift it to them (so if you know me you know exactly what you are getting for you b-day:) Especially if you're a female.) I stumbled into the store about almost a year ago (can't be exact since time flow by this year already) But I have been using the Dead Sea Salt Scrub for a very long time. I was very much sold on the vast knowledge that the staff has of the product and at the same time I never felt pressured into buying something that I didn't like. They girl explained all the ingredients and how each one helps my skin rejuvenate itself. I use the scrub twice a week-- It's like my own little spa day. The lotions are also amazing-- so little weight and after using the scrub they just absorb right into your skin. The Scrub gets ride of all the dead skin and leaves you feeling like a new born baby. They also have great bars of soap-- My favorite is the black one it's great for my blackheads (not that we females have any.) They have bath bombs and they are cute and festive! Great assortments of things that we all need and don't even know it. If you buy the scrub and lotion separately it's $35 each-- but if you buy them together you get them both for $60-- that's 10$off! They also have classes now which is great I want to sign up to do one with my friends. Love the staff!!!! My first foray into this handmade soap store was back in December thanks to a Yelp event being held at The Market NYC - located at the same address. Since Soap Cherie is pretty much at the entrance to The Market NYC (though with its own storefront as well) it was the first store I went into. Soap Cherie boasts homemade bar soaps, bath salts, scrubs, massage oil and hot oil fragrances. I ended up purchasing both bath salts and bar soap the evening I swung by, both as holiday gifts. As luck would have it, I was gifted a lavender bar soap by Soap Cherie from one of my friends over the holiday, so I was actually able to sample the product on my own. The soap is wonderful! Not only is the fragrance soothing, it is not overwhelming the way some perfumed soaps can be. Also, I have extremely sensitive skin, so I always try to use products that have the least (if any) unnatural additives and Soap Cherie uses only all natural, organic ingredients. Thus far my skin has been soft, smooth and had zero irritation - so take my word for it - their products are wonderful! I recently returned to Soap Cherie earlier this month to stock up on more soap, since I finally used up the bar I was gifted at Christmas, and the sweet, helpful women who work there remembered me from my visit back in December. Talk about customer service! I will absolutely be recommending this soap shop to all of my friends and now stock multiple varieties of the bar soap in my own apartment. I love this store! The products are great and the staff is wonderful! The soaps make great gifts! I'm very particular about scents and have sensitive skin. I love the scents on many of their products! So far I've only purchased the soaps for myself. I've tried the charcoal, oatmeal milk and honey, eucalyptus, grapefruit tea tree, and a loofah soap and love them all! They leave my skin feeling very soft. I've purchased soaps as gifts for others and everyone has loved them! One of my friends has extremely sensitive skin and allergies to certain ingredients, and she fell in love with the oatmeal milk and honey soap that I gave her. Every time I order from this wonderful little shop I fall in love with another soap. This past order I added the cocoa oats and oatmeal honey and I honestly couldn't pick a favorite among the two! The cocoa oats has such a subtle, rich cocoa scent and the oatmeal honey smells sweet as honey. They both have incredible lather, as do all their soaps, and they leave your skin so soft and smooth. Their soaps are an incredible treat and worth every penny. Your skin will positively glow and you're bound to get compliments! I came in one day passing and i will not lie it was the best decision i have ever made , See ive had really bad skin for years and i went in and they welcomed me in and where so warm and friendly i told them about my skin how it would crack and get red and open they told be about the dead sea salt scrub and i tried it on my arm and it was so soothing so i got that and the honey and black soap bars and it completely changed my skin i told them that i would take pictures and i did ...it really changed everything as far as my skin goes !! Came in here unintentionally while walking around in Williamsburg last Sunday (6/26/16) with my aunt & sister. I tried out the sea salt orchid scrub in the store and I was amazed. It left my skin feeling extremely smooth and super clean. Also, I tried the lotion, which was very light and creamy. I ended up buying the Morning Rose Lotion and Scrub because the Orchid Lotion was sold out. I used it on my feet as soon as I got home and it was just spectacular. Left my hands and feet feeling brand new and soft. The staff members were very friendly & also helpful in making suggestions and explaining the products. In total we ended up buying 3 of the scrubs and 3 lotions. Additionally, we received one set for free with a bonus of 4 soaps included. The lotion and scrub cost: $35 separately, but if you purchase them together it's $60 + tax. Really not a bad price for great products! When I first started coming here I was a grimy production assistant, working long shifts in pizza stain covered t-shirts that I purchased nearly a decade ago. Sure, sometimes my roommates judge me for being more selective in my soap than I am in my socks (just because socks have holes doesn't mean you have to toss them) but screw 'em! Over time starting your day off in such a clean way ends up cleaning up your whole life! Now I'm a button-down wearing, full sock rockin, tv producing, walking, talking, living Mr.Clean (with a great head of hair though)! And talk about clean? These soaps will leave you so clean you could sit in a factory fresh Ferrari and make the Ferrari feel insecure about its looks. So clean you go to the dentist for a cleaning and they can't stop staring at your pores instead of your gums (Soap Cherie is NOT responsible for damage done by distracted dentists)! So clean when you stand next to a tourist from the back-end-of-nowhere they go "Oh people always said NYC smells but I think it smells like a wonderful bowl of oatmeal and honey" (Shout out to oatmeal and honey soap, premo pick). If you're reading this and you are some tourist just know that if you use this soap you're automatically better than 100% of New Yorkers that don't! Take that, snobs! Just kidding, this soap won't make you a better person anywhere but in the mind of a slightly unhinged dude who writes reviews about soap stores on yelp BUT, it will make you clean and smell truly lovely. You can not get better than Soap Cherie! I have been plagued with various skin ailments over the last 8 months. I have literally purchased everything my doctor suggested; either by prescription or OTC, to no avail. I've had months of sleepless nights..up itching and going out of my mind. My skin had gotten so bad that showering felt like I was in acid. I was completely hopeless, miserable and didn't even want to leave the house- to avoid the ever questioning eyes of people. When the Soap Cherie Facebook video with their cute unicorn soaps and bath bombs was circling; literally all my friends tagged me in the video because of my love of unicorns. Upon checking out their store for said unicorn items; Alejandra recommended some soaps for my rashes that she thought might help. AND BOY WAS SHE RIGHT! For the first time in months I have been itch free, sleeping and my rashes diminishing. It is clearly a miracle graced upon me by the universe, pitying my suffering soul. Seriously, their stuff is amazing! The ingredients are the purest of the pure. There's no crap in it! No chemicals! Some are even vegan options. The smell, texture and just pure luxury of this stuff is worth every cent and NEWSFLASH, they aren't even expensive. So please, trust me- skin issues or not; give these wonderful ladies and their fabulous shop of miracles a try. If you can't stop into Brooklyn, (I drive an hour to get there and another hour to get back home but it's so worth it) they ship; even internationally now! I was visiting from South Florida and happened upon this great little shop. We had a wonderful experience and I ended up buying my girlfriend some soap and lotion. On our travels back to South Florida we had only carried on our bags and both the soap and lotion were confiscated. I went ahead and sent an email to their contact information on the website and inform them that we had our soap and lotion confiscated and that it was our fault for not having thought too check a bag and put it with the checked luggage. The phone call was really just to let the salesperson know to inform out of town guests to either mail the soap to themselves or check a bag before their trip home if they're flying. I love all of their products. Their products are all natural. One of my favorite products is their massage oil candle. The one I am currently using is Jasmine. The way it works is, you have to let the candle burn and after a while you have a pool of oil, not wax, but oil. How awesome it that?! The candle comes with a small spoon so you can transfer the massage oil to your skin. I will DEFINITELY go back their again! read more
