I even told them I don't like buttercream because it's too sweet and that I didn't want it anywhere on this cake. When I placed the order, they asked if they could add a little buttercream to the outside for texture. I said okay, but only a tiny bit mixed with the whipped cream. What showed up was all buttercream on the outside with zero whipped cream. When I asked about it, they told me it was whipped cream. I know what I'm tasting, and so did my guests. It was definitely buttercream. The inside was even worse. There was some ganache but barely any. The further we cut into the cake, the more buttercream we found. I did not want buttercream inside the cake at all. I barely agreed to a little on the outside and they didn't even respect that. The photos show it clearly. The further we cut, the messier and more uneven it got with just buttercream and buttercream. One slice had a thin layer of ganache with barely any pecans or caramel. Everything else was buttercream. I picked this bakery because I had a good experience with them the first time. The design looked nice, but the cake itself was really disappointing. Way too sweet from all that buttercream I specifically said I didn't want. I gave them detailed feedback with photos. Instead of owning up to it, the decorator got defensive. He said he used buttercream as glue to hold the cake together. But that doesn't make sense. If ganache worked fine as glue on my first order with them (which had no buttercream inside at all), why couldn't he do the same thing this time? He just chose to use a lot of buttercream instead of actually following what I asked for. I even sent more photos pointing out exactly where the problem was. But they still insisted it was whipped cream. My guests noticed it too. So are they lying? Management offered me a 10% discount on my next order. That doesn't help. I paid for a cake that didn't meet what I asked for and it ruined my event. I asked for a 50% refund which seemed fair. They read the message but never answered. Just complete silence. If a bakery is going to charge premium prices for custom cakes, you need to actually follow what the customer asks for. I was crystal clear about what I wanted. That's literally the whole point of a custom order. They like to ignore customers when there's an issue. I was ignored at first, then only responded after I pointed out how unprofessional they were handling things. That's when they offered the 10% discount. But the moment I asked for a fair 50% refund, they ghosted me completely. No response, nothing. That says everything you need to know about how they treat customers who have legitimate concerns.

My wedding was on October 10, 2015, I contacted Angela and we arranged for an order of 15 dozen…read morecupcakes to be delivered to the reception site before 4:00 pm the day of the wedding. She only asked for a $50 deposit but I sent her $100 in good faith. A week before the wedding I finalized my order with her and mailed the remaining amount along with a thank you card and detailed instructions. I also added a tip into the amount because I knew I wouldn't see her the day of the wedding. On my wedding day as I am taking pictures after the ceremony, I receive a phone call from my cousin who is at the reception site telling me the cupcakes weren't delivered. It was 5:00 and guests had already arrived. All 160 people who were there went over to a cake/cupcake stand that had no cupcakes. My dad built me a beautiful stand that had three layers. My good friend made me a beautiful small cake for the top and the bottom two tiers were empty. Mind you, the cake/cupcake stand was on a huge table filled with candy and a popcorn bar. It was wonderful, except for the fact that there were NO cupcakes. Angela didn't have the decency to call and let me know what was going on, we had to call her. She then said her oven wasn't working right and she would try to be there in a half hour. Almost an hour passes by and she finally arrives with the cupcakes. I wish more than anything that after her being late it was worth it, but it wasn't. The cupcakes were burnt on the outside and uncooked on the inside. Over half of them didn't even raise over the edge of the cupcake cup. AND to top it all off, TWO DOZEN were missing. My cousin who greeted her at the wedding told her to not cash my check until she talked to me. Angela didn't even help them put the cupcakes on the stand. Going through the boxes to find which ones were presentable, my cousin and a few guests had to. I was on my honeymoon for a week and text her when I got back. She blamed her oven on everything. She then told me I wouldn't have even known there were TWO DOZEN MISSING had she not told me. She's right... I wouldn't have known. Probably because I shouldn't have to count a 15 dozen cupcake order on the day of my wedding and because they were burnt and uncooked, I had around 100 left over. She cashed my check even though she shouldn't have. We negotiated a refund price that she said she would put in the mail the next day. Two weeks later no check. I text her and asked if she planned on sending my refund, at least for the two dozen that were missing. She then said the night she put a cashiers check in the outgoing mail box it was broken in to and stolen. She then said she would show me proof of the fraud investigation.... which is yet to be seen. And even if that did happen, I never received a phone call or text saying my refund would be coming at a later date. It is now November 13th. Over a month after my wedding. I have no refund. I understand that sometimes ovens may not work right and cupcakes get burnt... but the way Angela conducts business is absolutely horrible. She is completely unprofessional. Not only was I disappointed in her business ethic but so are the 160 people who attended my wedding. For anyone who would like to see the conversation we had through text messaging, I would be happy to email them to you.
