During my pregnancy, Kate helped us create success stations, work on management strategies, prepare for baby homecoming, and help our pup get ready for the big changes. My husband and I learned so much about safety and preparation and I cannot imagine bringing home a newborn with our dog without these sessions. Kate is extremely kind, personable, and knowledgeable and it is clear to see her passion for helping dog owners with pregnancy, toddlers, and all types of families. I HIGHLY recommend working with her for any growing family with any type of dog.

We had an amazing experience with Julie and her 7-day board and train program for our 5-month-old…read morepuppy. Before training, our pup had all the typical puppy chaos--pulling on the leash, struggling to settle, and not consistently following basic commands. After just one week with Julie, the transformation was honestly impressive. He came back walking calmly on a leash, able to self-soothe, and with a strong foundation in basic obedience. Julie was a pleasure to work with from start to finish--super knowledgeable, patient, and clearly experienced. She also took the time to make sure we understood how to reinforce everything at home, which made a huge difference. If you're considering a board and train, especially for a young dog, I highly recommend Julie. It gave us structure, confidence, and a much calmer, happier pup.

We did 4 training sessions at our home with Julie, which really helped set a great foundation. He learned sit, down, stay, and place. We also worked on recall. We then did a 2 week board and train which really helped cement the basics he had learned. But what was the most beneficial thing of the board and train was the socialization he got with other dogs and exposure to new experiences. He is now 6.5 months old. He walks beautifully on a leash and is such a beloved member of our family. It is so nice having a well trained puppy especially with three young kids. Cannot recommend pawsitive foundations enough!

I 1000% recommend OC canine coaching. My Chihuahua/Xolo 1-year old, Patty Lupe, is a rescue, a…read moreformer street dog from Tijuana, and I was worried she would never be able to just enjoy walks. She would bark at everyone and everything, and was just SO anxious and nervous (understandably) in public. Other trainers we looked into wanted to use shock collars and other more aggressive forms of discipline on her, but I knew Patty didn't need more trauma to help her calm down. Bryndon, on the other hand, was patient, kind, and used treats and other strategies to help Patty gradually feel comfortable on walks. When he got her to go into a dog park - WITH NO LEASH - I was literally speechless (in a good way!). I never thought that would be an option for Patty, but here she was going up to other dogs and walking around without growling, barking, or lunging at them. After 4-5 weeks of training, I'm now able to take Patty to a dog park on my own, off leash, and she actually PLAYS with other dogs all on her own! I literally teared up the first time I saw her running and playing with other dogs; this was something I never thought would happen because so many other people and trainers told me that Patty would probably always be aggressive and scared. Now, she loves dog parks and I'm planning on enrolling her in agility classes in the future - just like Bryndon said would be a possibility one day. I cannot praise him enough. Trust him with your dog because he will take help them through patience, kind words, and care, and not through fear, pain, or aggression, which our dogs don't deserve.

I adopted Maya, a young Belgian Malinois mix, a few months ago. She came from an extremely abusive…read moresituation and had pretty severe behavioral and reactivity issues that needed to be addressed. I searched around extensively and contacted a few different trainers and specialists, but remained skeptical (worried about finding someone good enough to handle Maya). However, I finally managed to come across Bryndon who seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Within minutes of the first introductory session, I could tell Bryndon knew exactly what he was doing and gave me the confidence that I had made the right choice. He experienced first-hand what Maya's reactivity was like, and yet by the end of the first introductory session, he already managed to showcase how we could help her improve. I knew that her issues were bad enough that it would take a very long time for her to get better, but to my surprise she showed massive improvements literally within the first few sessions. Most importantly, he showed and taught me what I needed to do to help guide her along, which was my biggest worry. We've both learned a lot (and got to learn a lot of tricks along the way lol). I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have chosen him as Maya's trainer. He listens to your needs and concerns and actually addresses them, is extremely well informed, and gives you and your dog the confidence they need to be better. He has a good mentality towards training dogs and utilizes positive reinforcement to help correct the source of issues rather than training that only serves to suppress and hide the bad behaviors/triggers. I don't say this lightly, but I cannot recommend Bryndon enough! If you are someone like me who was both highly skeptical and unsure, try meeting him for an intro, he is very approachable and friendly, and is genuinely honest enough to tell you if he's the right fit or not. Thank you Bryndon!!!

From the very beginning, Amie has been so patient, flexible with my schedule, and genuinely caring about Meatball's growth and overall wellness. We began with standard baseline training which gave us such a strong foundation. Those basics made it so much easier when I decided to move on to more advanced skills. One of the biggest things I have appreciated is that Amie did not just train Meatball, she also trained me. She taught me how to communicate better, be consistent, and really build a strong bond with my dog. Another amazing part of working with Amie is the community she has built. After private lessons, we have had the opportunity to join group classes and pack walks which will be so great for Meatball's socialization. She also goes above and beyond by offering support outside of in-person lessons. Whenever I have questions, she is always responsive via text and often sends helpful how-to videos, tips, and tricks that make a big difference in our progress. I truly cannot imagine what our training journey would have been like without Amie. She has made such a positive impact on both me and Meatball and I am so grateful for her dedication and support. I am going to miss our one on ones!!!

While my guy is well socialized and intelligent, he is much more confident and happy thanks to her. We look forward to continuing our learning journey with her. Update: We recently completed a 5 week course with Amie for E-collar training. And before you judge, understand I was just like you. I had negative, judgemental thoughts about ecollars and looked down upon people who used them. I felt it was negative reinforcement, similar to physical punishement. I wanted my guy and I to have more freedom in our exploring, so I signed him up anyway, because I knew I could trust Amie. I had extreme anxiety about using the ecollar. I was scared I was going to irreversibly damage my dog's trust in me and injure him. After signing up and feeling apprehension I reached out to Amie who assured me, settings are low, we do things slowly and incorporate the collar similarly to verbal commands and/or leash pressure. She told me I wasn't alone in my thoughts and that she felt the same concerns when she started. Throughout the 5 weeks my relationship with my guy changed. He was following me without the stim, verbal commands or leash pressure. He checked in more frequently, came back on his own and was FREE. It is an absolutely freeing feeling allowing him to roam at a safe distance, knowing his recall is more secure and our trust in each other is greater. I CANNOT recommend Amie enough for you and your dog's needs!

In short: Best investment ever for my dog. Mike arrived at 8am. We had a 50-55 minute learning session on DOGs from their culture, through the do's & don'ts, then we brought Maximus in and slowly applied the training methods. What Mike taught us, and what he did with Maximus, is absolutely fabulous. Maximus is more calm & less "high-strung", listens better, responds to me better, seems happier than before K9 Mentor training. PLUS, his aggressiveness has seemed to diminish greatly since the training session. Mike's training is simple, straight-forward, easy to learn (& eventually master) methods. I am completely satisfied with Mike/K9 Mentor Dog Training and would highly recommend him, especially with large dogs. Happy Dog Training & Fight On!

She was the only female that I interviewed and I "gave her the job" based on that as I am a female business owner and like to to support my fellow ladies. I found communication turn around with her not as fast and consistent as I would've liked. She came the first two times to work with my dogs when I wasn't there, which was fine. I joined her for the next two and found that she didn't really have a thought out plan for the hour that I was paying for and I was feeling frustrated as her rates were higher than the other two trainers that I interviewed and I felt like I should be getting top notch service because of that. She always arrived a few minutes late but was always rushing out when the time was up, meaning if she was a few minutes late she didn't stay a few extra minutes. I ended up letting her go because of a bunch of different reasons but what was the last straw was I had a friend who wanted to meet her (possibly refer to her) and she was short with her because "our time was up". My friend was really put off by this unfriendly attitude. I asked for a refund and she charged me a $60 admin fee. I was surprised by this as she is not running a large enterprise with staff that would perhaps warrant this, it's just her. I have been running my own professional service business for 28 years. I have always given a free consultation and have never charged anyone for a refund. BTW she has in her agreement that she doesn't have to refund your money. I would never treat someone that way. I thought I would add this to the list of her reviews so people could hear about my experience.

Miguel is a well experienced trainer who knows a ton about dogs, dog behavior, and dog training. Before training, Rip had a lot of behavioral issues. He would bite people when overly excited or overstimulated. If you ran around, he would chase and bite. He chewed cabinets and any plastic he could find, even if we gave him toys. He went through bathroom trash bins, jumped on tables and chairs, and would eat food off the table. He barked and whined immediately when left alone in his crate or in the backyard. He peed on everything and still had accidents inside. He was aggressive toward other dogs and had attacked before. Had issues biting relatives for being over stimulated/aroused. After the 2 week program, he is a completely different dog. He's calmer, more obedient, easier to handle, and much more controlled around people and other dogs. We can actually relax in our own home now. His impulse control is dramatically better, and we have the tools to maintain it.
