I knew something was off as I couldn't see good out of the lower left lense. I went back to Walmart and was told that the prescription matched the glasses. I returned to NJ in June and went to Horizon to discuss my problem. The technician said my prescription matched the glasses. A very nice receptionist gave me an appointment for a refraction on 7/29/24. At that exam, I was told by K. Sedlock that she had given me too much power in the lower left lense. She gave me another prescription. I feel that Horizon should pay for their mistake. They told me no way as it was over 30 days when I reported it. I was in Florida and I never used the glasses I purchased as I couldn't properly see out of them. The attitude on 7/29/24 was not friendly or understanding. I was disappointed and insulted at their attitude as my husband and I have been going there for probably 15 yrs. We will no longer be using them for our checkups in the future. Karen Van Zile

They then asked if I wanted to submit the charge to Medicare, I agreed. Medicare did not cover this service, which Im sure they knew Medicare wouldn't, then they sent me a bill for $160. When I asked why they said because Medicare did not pay, I explained that I was quoted $114 and paid that amount. They then said that if they didn't submit the charge to Medicare I would only have had to pay the quoted price, but because they submitted it and Medicare refused, I was now responsible for an additional $160. It makes absolutely no sense, I refused to pay but they keep sending me a bill every month.

So today I called the doctor's office for the PD Because it wasn't on the script That the doctor forgot to put it on the prescription. I was then told that the doctor does not do that. You would think that it is part of the exam but it's not. So they tell me it will cost 15 dollars to have it done. Wow I thought to myself what a scam because the prescription is useless without it. So DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!! So where ever you go ask if they include the PD in the exam.

Unfortunately, AtlantiCare has changed their vision insurance for it's employees and now AAE no longer takes our insurance. Our vision plan was described to me by a doctor as,"the worst of the worst of the worst Medicaid plans." Thanks AtlantiCare.
