And yet, of all the places I have been, few can match the charm and service of this wonderful couple and this establishment. "Charming coastal" is indeed accurate as another reviewer noted, but so is kind and engaging. At least, that is how I found the host Kim, who is the hostess during your stay. The rooms are modest in size but well appointed and comfy with a wonderful balcony to enjoy a morning coffee and watch the city wake up. The highlight of each morning was the breakfast together. The breakfast is served at 9 sharp and is served with the other guests. It makes for not only a delicious breakfast, but Kim uses it as an opportunity to help direct, guide, and suggest places nearby that meet your interests. This is great as it means you get insider tips and ways to optimize your stay by taking the guesswork out--particularly when you have a small window for activities (we were only there for a few days). In the evenings, Kim hosts a happy hour which includes helping guests secure reservations and dinner plans settled before you go. This is not just a recommendation by Kim--she actively calls and secures the spots and confirms them with you. True concierge service! Setting aside the wonderful host and the rooms, the location is superb. We were there over the weekend, and there is a delightful Saturday market literally ACROSS the street filled with vendors of all varieties. Warming: it is easy to spend. ;) The entirety of the downtown is merely a block away with shops, restaurants, and bars galore along with the cruises, sports fishing, and recreation just a short walk down the road. Bottom line: I adored this place and have already recommended it to friends and family here in Durham (where we live) and beyond. If you can swing it (it is worth every penny) and want to give yourself or your partner a weekend to remember, I cannot more strongly recommend the Inn on Turner.

After about an hour after lightning it, the room was filled with smoke, the alarm went off and had to open the door to our porch and the entry door. I would suggest a chimney sweep as there are probably birds nests among other things that would clog up the flu. The bathroom light and fan quit working for about an hour on our third morning. Breakfast was very good with fresh muffins, fresh orange juice and good coffee. Overall I would give the property and staff

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful during my stay. I stayed in a 2nd-floor waterfront room again, and although I didn't use the balcony as much as I had in summer, the views out the windows were still lovely, and I got to see a few sunsets. My room was large and had a king-sized bed, a couch, a table with two chairs, a good-sized flat-screen TV, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffeemaker. A dehumidifier was in the room, but it was less humid this time of year, so it didn't need to be emptied. Shampoo, soap and lotion were provided. The products were good quality, and I remembered to bring my own conditioner, and I am not sure why it isn't provided. I was pleased that the wifi was working on this trip, as that has been an issue on each of my previous visits. The tv lineup also had more selection. They may have switched providers for more reliable service. The heater in the room kept the room hot, it got a little too hot at times and it was just set on 63 but that made the room closer to 75. The lowest the wall unit went was 58. I couldn't find a way to shut off the ceiling fan. The bathroom could have used more attention with the cleaning. The showerhead had a lot of buildup and didn't appear to have been cleaned for months; black mold on the shower tiles and the floor could use a cleaning. It could use a deep cleaning or remodel, as the toilet was outdated and used a lot of water. Breakfast was served between 7:30 and 9:30. You could get tea or coffee, OJ, and a bagel or yogurt. It came fast this visit on the days I called for it. I left early on my last day, so I wasn't there for breakfast. They used to include the yogurt too. With the high room prices here, I hope the bathrooms are updated and cleaned, and that the breakfast options improve.

The staff were friendly and prompt to greet us upon check-in; the lobby is large and tidy. The rooms are well kept and spacious. We chose a suite room with a water view and weren't disappointed. It was super nice with a full kitchen and large living room in addition to a spacious room and bathroom. Beautiful views and nice size balconies round out the experience. Only two things quickly to note: 1) The balconies are lovely, but we had a weird experience with little finches getting caught between the concrete of the balcony edge and the gap between the clear plexiglass. We ended up rescuing 2 birds in the same morning, so hoping that doesn't happen frequently. Poor birds. 2) The breakfast is a bit sparse and comes off as somewhat cheap. Lovely to have it delivered to your room, but the portions were super tiny and pretty sparse overall. I would've preferred a traditional continental breakfast. Minor quibble but ultimately does matter in guest satisfaction overall. Overall a really nice hotel, good location and very clear with a few quirks.

Our choice of parking and waling to the 6 bars was a smart idea. :) The Bask's location can not be beat if you need to be in downtown Morehead city. We had a great check-in experience and were able to park in the lot 3 hours before official time. Our room was on the 7th floor and overlooked the water. It gave us a great view of the intercoastal waterway and Atlantic Beach. It came with a small kitchen that we did not use except for the coffee maker. The room was clean and met our needs. As others have said the breakfast was less than ideal. We ordered the night before and it came to our room at the appointed time. Both of us ordered yogurt and neither of us got what we ordered. My "Blue Marlin-Bask Signature" breakfast was OK but the avocado cream cheese sauce was nothing more than a small cup of cream cheese with very little avocado on top. The assorted muffins were 2 muffins that may have come from Costco. Adequate, but nothing special. My partner ordered a custom sandwich which was nothing memorable and she did not eat it. In addition to her missing yogurt, she was missing banana bread with no substitution. Lucky that she ordered milk because there were no coffee fixings (sweetener, cream, etc..) of any kind for the Keurig. Would we come back? Sure, if we needed to stay in Morehead City but we would skip the breakfast and walk up to the Big Rock Cafe (formerly Grumpys) for a real breakfast.

We were greeted by an exceptionally warm valet attendant, welcoming, efficient, and genuinely great. While we ultimately chose not to use valet service, it was reassuring to know it was available. An added convenience: a nearby charging station within easy walking distance, where we parked with ease. Our first interaction by phone set the tone for the stay. A gracious front desk associate, her name may have been Valencia or Veronica (not sure) handled our check-in and made us feel both welcomed and valued. Despite arriving slightly ahead of schedule, she graciously accommodated an early check-in, a gesture that immediately elevated the experience. The hotel itself strikes a thoughtful balance between modern refinement and coastal tradition. Natural light pours through the public spaces, lending the interiors an airy, relaxed elegance. Our room was impeccably clean and well appointed, but it was the bathroom and sweeping water views that truly stood out peaceful, restorative, and unmistakably coastal. There were occasional sounds from the hallway and a few muffled bumps from above, curious given our top-floor location, though none disrupted our rest. During the holiday bustle, we did experience a couple of unanswered calls to the front desk, but the otherwise attentive service and seasonal demands made this understandable. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the addition of an on-site ice-skating rink offers a charming, unexpected touch especially for families. Overall, The Beaufort Hotel delivers a refined yet approachable stay, and it's one we would gladly return to.

After returning home, I realized I had accidentally left a jacket and shirt hanging in the closet. I contacted the hotel about a week later, but by then the items were gone and could not be located. What disappointed me most was the way the situation was handled. When I calmly asked whether I could speak with the housekeeper who cleaned the room, the general manager became very defensive and raised his voice, telling me, "I will NOT allow you to speak with my employees." I understand I should have called sooner, and I wasn't accusing anyone of anything -- I was simply trying to locate sentimental and valuable belongings. For a hotel of this caliber, especially one that hosts weddings and important family events, I expected more professionalism, empathy, and better lost-and-found procedures. I'm sharing this so future guests remember to double-check their rooms carefully before leaving.

They refused to give us more toilet paper for a 7 day stay and told us they only set us up for a few days and to go to food lion down the street and purchase it ourselves. Sounds like a health code violation to me! They are crazy about wearing bracelets with the hotel logo on it, kicked us out of the pool when my husband had them on the beach in the bag. Do they really think someone wants to sneak in to this rundown establishment? The pool is nothing to be desired. The toaster was broken and called 3x for a replacement and never received it. We were charged 169.00 for a cleaning fee and were told there was sand in the hotel room and crumbs on the floor. I have never ever had to launder towels, provide my own toilet paper or be inspection clean after a hotel stay. Victor the GM is rude, condescending and could not have been nastier when questioned about anything regarding the stay. There really was no good answer for the charge, which will be disputed. XOXO Victor keep doing what you are doing, looks like you are doing a great job! Promotion in the future.

The outside pool is quite large and they also have an inside pool. The size of the outside pool took me off guard a bit. Most Beach properties that I have stayed at pool was not as quite as large and this one also has a slide. It always had plenty of chairs available and they have a lot of them with umbrellas. There is a small food stand but no alcoholic beverage for the adults; however, you can bring your own light snacks in a cooler. The walk to the beach is not far and the Atlantic Ocean is very soothing. However I highly suggest you to bring some beach shoes because the sand has small shells in it that could hurt small feet. The local area has beautiful restaurants, and the price point is $$. There are local grocery stores and drug store so anything you want or need or didn't bring when you left home, you're able to get here. My cousin secured the condo. The condo we stayed in was a two bedroom and it was beautifully decorated, very clean, and very spacious. The owner of this condominium was amazing, communication was on point, no issues whatsoever. I loved the location of this condo because it was closer to the pool and ramp to the beach. If you're looking for an amazing vacation for the whole family I highly recommend going here.

There were times a just a few years ago that we were very unhappy with management and the board. Timeshares were not a priority at all to them. Over the past several years a lot of great changes have been made and I am back a very happy owner and would not consider selling my units. We have a new board and a new president that takes this property and timeshares serious again, even better than it was many years ago. They have hired a new management company with a really good property manager (Matt Bruner) that is on top of the issues that come up. With the property being about 30+ years old, there are a lot of issues, but Matt stays on top of them. We use to have some security issues, but since they added secure gates along with on-site security, that problem is almost non-existent. The board has made some great changes to get the timeshares in much better shape along with getting them financially stable. We are not completely there yet, but we are really getting close. They have a great plan and are aggressively implementing it. Thank you Greg, Matt, and the rest of the board and volunteers.
