Bill's 24 - Sending threatening texts to unhappy customers is not a good business practice...

Bill's 24

I've been a customer of Bill's for many years. He is the hardest working guy I know. He's done…read morerepairs to my heating system and plumbing at home, and at a business rental for the past 10+ years. He just helped with a long-term hidden leak in the basement of the rental, which required Dayspring's services as well because there was mold mitigation involved. He did his plumbing part efficiently and well. In my extensive experience with him - he takes every customer seriously, answers calls quickly, diagnoses problems, has or gets the parts, and fixes things FAST. He's also a fun person to talk with - always upbeat about life and solving problems. Highly recommended! Doug After I wrote the above review about my own experience, I looked at some of the other reviews. I have to say that a few of them are really negative - and completely at odds with my long time experience with Bill. I've never had anything other than a positive experience with him, and every job he's done has been excellent. He is extremely competent and knowledgeable. Doug

Bill came up a few weeks ago to repair a leaky hose on a faucet…read more I believe charges a Service call fee of $190 just to have him come out and say that he couldn't work on our sink because it wasn't the right brand!? Bill will tell you he cannot work on sinks/faucets that are sold at Home Depot or Lowe's. That's all well and fine I guess but you'll likely have to pay one of the higher service call fees charged in missoula just to find this out! He left us with two choices, told us he could replace the hose if we ordered it (plus $190 for a second service call from Bill) or BUY a whole new faucet fixture from a brand that he would work on AND pay for another $190 for a service call. Honestly if he and his staff would have asked us some basic questions over the phone we could have ordered the part and installed it in one call. Before leaving this review I called and asked to speak with bill to see if he could come out to install the new hose (big mistake) and to offer him some customer feedback and a chance to resolve this problem. He called my phone and preceded to interrupt me as I was explaining my concerns and went off on a profanity laden rampage telling me to: "Come find him if you don't like his services" and to "go fix the f***king thing yourself" and then threatened me with harassment if I continued to contact him or his company, wow. Bill's a really rude/tough guy on the phone apparently, and if you read other reviews this isn't an isolated incident! Bill might have the worst customer service and staff that I have experienced in years. Do yourselves a favor and call someone (anyone) else! Bill doesn't need your hard earned money, choose one of the other myriad of options for plumbing and heating services in Missoula.

Right Now Plumbing and Heating

TLDR: I spent nearly $342 for absolutely nothing…read more I called Right Now because I was having an issue with a mini split that was freezing up. It was no problem getting an appointment, and the technician showed up on time. But once he got there, all he did was attach a handheld device to do a line pressure test, which he deemed within spec (less than -1.5psi) and which did not indicate a need for additional refrigerant. He did advise that he would add some more refrigerant upon request, but also that it would be a considerable charge just take the equipment off the truck, and that refrigerant is expensive and at a 1lb minimum. So based on his feedback, I opted not to get the refrigerant. Good thing! After about 30 minutes, he charged me $342 without doing anything to resolve the freezing issue or indicating what else might be causing it, and went on his merry way. The freezing obviously continued. I called to book another appointment, but since he was on vacation and not available for another week, I went elsewhere and booked a tech the next day. They came out and ran a number of diagnostic tests and evaluations the RN tech didn't, and very quickly found that the root of the problem was a clogged blower and evaporator - which the RN tech didn't even so much as LOOK at. They showed me and it was immediately clear that this was an obvious problem - and again, that was just on a quick visual inspection! Right Now was an ABSOLUTE waste of time and money, and I absolutely will not be calling them for anything in the future. And any argument that "we don't typically service a particular brand" is moot. If you don't want to or can't do it, don't set the appointment. And if you aren't going to demonstrate the care or make a basic effort required to provide a solution to an obvious problem, how can you feel right about charging THAT MUCH for a nonsense service? AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Some years back, I used Right Now Heating to service my home furnace and air-conditioning. I was…read morevery satisfied. Tony was excellent. Right Now plumbing also redid my entire plumbing system in 2019-'20. My biggest complaint was that nothing was marked to indicate which levers and water tanks went to the corresponding units. Upon repeated requests, they reluctantly marked them, except for the well. I asked again (and again), "please put labels in the well." They never did. A couple years later when there were problems, I called and they did come out and marked the well at that time, for a very large fee. In winter/spring of 2024, when a tenant couldn't get hot water, we learned that they labeled the water tanks entirely incorrectly. In 2023, I called them for furnace work for both my home and rental units since I had satisfying furnace service in years prior. I won't go into the details. I was charged more than my lawyer per hour! They actually caused damage, which another heating business had to fix. I will never use them again. I told Joe, the owner, about my experience and he said they had to fire that employee. I was never offered recompense for the damages or the egregious fees. Another case of a business getting to big to maintain quality service.

Called PlumbTech for a leak and the plumber who was sent, was at my house for less than 30 min. He…read moredid not take the time to confirm the leak was gone. Which two different office staff admitted was not appropriate. I had to call him back the next day and was charged in full for both visits. The second visit was completed without my consent of the cost. When I questioned that they admitted that they should have called me first. He told me someone would follow up with me. The next call I received was to collect payment. I asked that someone call me back. I had to repeatedly reach out to PlumbTech for follow up. They would promise to call me back and I would not hear back. i was offered 10% discount. Nothing more. The customer service and lack of follow up/ communication was the worst I have ever had. Every communication was initiated by me first except for them calling to collect payment. When I received calls for payment I asked to speak to a manager yet was not contacted until I reached out first. I was promised to talk to a second manager and two weeks later when I reached out again was told no final decision was 10% no further discussion. I was always willing to pay just felt that a minimum of 20% should have been taken off the second visit or the first visit be credited to the second.

Plumb-Tech installed an outside faucet. To do so, the plumber had to remove a piece of siding. He…read moredidn't put the siding back securely but left a significant gap underneath. I didn't know this until a few months later when the gap let in cold air and burst the pipe connected to the faucet pipe. This was directly Plumb-Tech's mistake. After 25 years in my home, I've never had a pipe burst or any freezing issues in that spot. I've never touched the siding. The plumber they sent out to fix the burst pipe acknowledged that cold air was coming in through the siding gap. I paid my bill but wanted Plumb-Tech to take responsibility for their mistake and reimburse me. They refused. I even had another plumber out who acknowledged that this was Plumb-Tech's mistake. I didn't ask Plumb-Tech to reimburse the cost of the couch I lost or the fees I paid a company to help clean up the water. I only wanted them to cover the cost of the pipe repair. But they refused. Unfortunately, Plumb-Tech is the first plumbing company I've hired in Missoula since losing my husband. I have only dealt with plumbers in a small rural Montana town. This was a whole different experience. Those plumbers were not all about the money but seemed to feel some sense of neighborly responsibility towards me. I don't think they would hesitate to take responsibility for their mistakes. But I guess that Plumb-Tech is a different sort of company. It's not small town Montana at all. I think that money is the bottom line, not their customers.
