I've been a customer of Bill's for many years. He is the hardest working guy I know. He's done repairs to my heating system and plumbing at home, and at a business rental for the past 10+ years. He just helped with a long-term hidden leak in the basement of the rental, which required Dayspring's services as well because there was mold mitigation involved. He did his plumbing part efficiently and well. In my extensive experience with him - he takes every customer seriously, answers calls quickly, diagnoses problems, has or gets the parts, and fixes things FAST. He's also a fun person to talk with - always upbeat about life and solving problems. Highly recommended! Bill came up a few weeks ago to repair a leaky hose on a faucet. I believe charges a Service call fee of $190 just to have him come out and say that he couldn't work on our sink because it wasn't the right brand!? Bill will tell you he cannot work on sinks/faucets that are sold at Home Depot or Lowe's. That's all well and fine I guess but you'll likely have to pay one of the higher service call fees charged in missoula just to find this out! He left us with two choices, told us he could replace the hose if we ordered it (plus $190 for a second service call from Bill) or BUY a whole new faucet fixture from a brand that he would work on AND pay for another $190 for a service call. Honestly if he and his staff would have asked us some basic questions over the phone we could have ordered the part and installed it in one call. Before leaving this review I called and asked to speak with bill to see if he could come out to install the new hose (big mistake) and to offer him some customer feedback and a chance to resolve this problem. He called my phone and preceded to interrupt me as I was explaining my concerns and went off on a profanity laden rampage telling me to: "Come find him if you don't like his services" and to "go fix the f***king thing yourself" and then threatened me with harassment if I continued to contact him or his company, wow. Bill's a really rude/tough guy on the phone apparently, and if you read other reviews this isn't an isolated incident! Bill might have the worst customer service and staff that I have experienced in years. Do yourselves a favor and call someone (anyone) else! CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! This is what a tax cheat looks like. Overcharges by hundreds and then offers a discount for cash payment. Bill Thomas likes working off the books. One can tell from the answers Bill gives his negative reviews, what an arrogant, rude, unprofessional and petty individual he is, calling customers idiots and crazy. Unethical, greedy, deceiving and dishonest to his customers and community! Bill charged me $2300 to install an $800 Water Heater, which took about an hour. I asked twice 'why so much?' He stated that's what they cost, letting me believe water heaters cost that much. Then he had the nerve to tell me to get cash so I can get $150 knocked off. Threatening me with a lawyer is funny, and will not stop me from speaking out! I can back up these facts with pictures of Bill Thomas' rude texts and lousy invoice! I also hit record when he called me to tell me to go f*** myself after I send him a text to clarify why he charged so much for installation. He knows what he did! Is Bill Thomas worth $1500 an hour??? I think not!!! He also left me without warranty or paperwork for the new Heater. This business is run by a greedy, lying crook! I appreciate Bill's 24h Plumbing, made an estimate of the time someone would arrive, when that was going to change let me know in advance. Despite their crazy busy schedule, according to my insurance company, he had never had so many reports of broken pipes. He fit me in and instead of just informing me there were 3 additional issues just waiting to happen, he repaired the broken pipe due to freezing and fixed the other three problem areas at the same time!! Everything was great other than needing to reschedule our initial visit because his prior appointment took longer than expected. That was a little annoying because I'd stayed home all morning to wait, but the office was communicative and we were able to reschedule. Bill was on time to our rescheduled visit and he was professional, friendly, and courteous. He got right to the diagnoses and was clear about repair strategies and my choices. The repairs were quick and clean, and he did the work for exactly what he quoted me. Bill also let me know when the repair my toilet needed would be a temporary fix and that it would actually make more sense to hold out and get a new toilet. That's business integrity in my book - he didn't take the $100 he could have made right then to do the repair in order to recommend what was right for me. You can bet I'll be asking him to do the new toilet installation when we can afford it. :) read more

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, OFFENSIVE, and DEROGATORY! Unprovoked, he said my wife and I had "NO COMMON SENSE" and "ASK THE MOST FUCKING RETARDED QUESTIONS", and hung up on me after asking a basic question about work to be performed. He does not know the brand of the products he installs. Overcharges for a part he says will fail in less than 4 years. Way to stand behind your products you sell. Said the water heater came with 7 year warranty, only has a 6 year warranty according to manufacturer. We hired Bill to do a basic water heater install. During the install, he insisted we install an anti-scolding valve per code. Okay, that's fine, but when my wife asked if it was a Honeywell brand valve, he said "Never heard of them". After the install, we looked and there is a large label on the valve that says Honeywell. After the inspection was done, Bill called and told us we need a new chimney liner. I said, "Okay, but don't we have a chimney liner?" (which we do). He literally exploded on me, saying "YOU AND YOUR WIFE ARE THE MOST EDUCATED PEOPLE WITH NO COMMON SENSE" and "YOU ASK THE MOST FUCKING RETARDED QUESTIONS". He followed up by saying that "I'M NOT DOING ANY MORE WORK FOR YOU", and abruptly hung up on me. I deeply regret hiring Bill in the first place, and his customer service is the worst I have ever experienced by any company, period. His unprofessional, and completely unprovoked reaction to a basic question was completely INAPPROPRIATE and UNWARRANTED, not to mention extremely politically incorrect, offensive and derogatory to the disability community! Shame on you. If I could, I'd give Bill zero stars. He'll NEVER get my business again, and I'll make sure I tell everyone I know in Missoula and the surrounding area of my experience so they don't make the same mistake either. Called on Sunday. Quick return call. Great advice to my cost advantage, not to make $ for him. After taking his advice and getting a free Northwest Energy inspection to be sure it doesn't need to be condemned, I'll call him for service so I don't waste money fixing old junk. He firmly cautioned me to put my safety first and get inspected ASAP. Years ago someone suggested it might have a serious problem, but I didnt trust them to not just be trying to sell a new system. We had a small emergency repair on a leaky supply line to our clawfoot tub. Bill responded quickly and was able to get out to our home and repair within 24 hours thus avoiding further damage to our tile floor. I would 100% use them again. read more

I had to call Bill out on an emergency on a Sunday, he got here fast, that was good because I couldn't keep up with the flow of raw sewage, yes raw sewage. The town of Lolo's sewage system had a big ball of yuck stuck in it and it had no where to go but into my lower floor's toilet and bathtub. I had vacumned about 20 gallons of sludge up and when Bill got here he took one look at it, requested I follow him and he showed me where the problem was. It was the city or township of Lolos system. On a Sunday who am I supposedr to call to get this fixed? Bill took full control, he called the city explained the problem, told me how to go about all the insurance issues, he even waited while I wrote it down. Bilk stayed until the city guys showed up. Basically he kept me calm, mentally holding me together. I can't say enough about his professionalism, courtesy, super quick response on a Sunday no less. I will never use another plumber. He absolutely knows plumbing, it took him less than 30 seconds to diagnose the problem and 2 minutes to get the city people headed this way. read more

Bill is a nice guy, and does good work, but his prices are significantly higher than other plumbers we've used in town. He also charges $150 for estimates. I'm glad he seems to be doing well, but we'll be looking elsewhere for plumbing services in the future. read more

Against my better judgement, we decided to use Bills for a service call. I say that because I have heard some negative feedback about them in the past. My wife was told that the service call would be $110, which we agreed to pay even though it is higher than other plumbers in town. Thinking that we would be able to ask a few questions after the initial repar (a drip from tub overflow) since we had paid for the call was a mistake. Bill showed up, shot some silicone into the leak, and called it good. When my wife tried to ask about some other concerns in the utility room, Bill was rude, condescending, and not helpful at all. $110 for seven minutes of work, what a joke... read more

I must admit that I haven't actually used Bill's services yet, because they're so awesome, they told us about something that could be causing the furnace problem. We checked, and sure enough, that did it! Now that's what I call awesome service. Bill's is definitely who we'll be calling next time we need furnace or plumbing help! Reviews for Bill's 24 Hour Plumbing are old, so here is a recent review. My usual go to plumber (Thomas Plumbing)for my heating system wasn't available for another week, which I couldn't wait that long. I called 4 different plumbers to look at my ancient boiler system that had sprung a leak. Bill's was able to schedule me in the same day as my call. The scheduling worked slick, they called me when he was able to go to my house upon finishing his previously scheduled work and he arrived at my home before me! Bill was very nice, professional, looked at situation, gave me a quote and went straight to work. Super efficient. The job was fairly large (to me), having to replace many parts and re-route pipes. During the time he was working, one of the other plumbers returned my call from earlier in the day, found out I had already hired someone and politely asked who I had hired. When he heard it was Bill's he said "You are in good hands, he is good and fair. There are a couple of plumbers out there that are doing a terrible job, but Bill's is top notch" THAT is HUGE! On the side Bill replaced a screen on one of our faucets because it was bad, all on his own because it "bugged" him. That says a lot. The job took about 2 hours and I was able to make happy hour within one minute for the much needed drink. I called Bill on a Friday afternoon because I needed a plumber quick. Even though he was leaving town for the weekend, he took the time to come by my house. I had hot water leaks and he quickly replaced the overflow valve and pipe because it was leaking due to a bad blow out from the sprinkler guy. Bill called me back on Monday to see if the water heater was still leaking. I said it was, but not as bad. He made an appointment to come back on Tuesday morning and replace the pressure reducer gauge that had also been damaged by the sprinkler service. Bill's Plumbing came at five on a Friday to clean out our main line and had to go through the toilet to do it (remove the entire toilet, then snake the hole left by it). I give them four starts because they were relatively fast, very clean and very professional. I didn't give them five starts because the whole thing cost us $260, which seems like a lot to me, but I honestly don't know much about standard plumbing pricing, so that could an okay price. The other nice thing was all the extremely relevant and useful advice the plumber gave us after he finished the job. read more
