I've been coming here since I was a kid. I grew up a few blocks away and my friends and I made almost daily trips down during the summer for snows. Nothing better on a hot day, nothing! Now I live a couple towns away but my daughter and I make it here as much as we can every summer. Can't beat the prices and the quality. We usually just get snows but every once in a while we get dinner as well, hint hint you get a free snow with every meal purchase. Get the Purple Cow or Tigers Blood. read more

Very nostalgic being that I was born and raised in York. It's a must stop when I am back in the area visiting my family. I'm pretty boring so I stick to the same ice every time but there's hundreds of flavor combinations you can choose from . The ice is like snow so it's much better than your slushees that seems like juice poured over crushed ice. Also you can get toppings like marshmallows and peanuts. There's a whole food and ice cream menu as well. I also get a pretzel to dip in my marshmallow topping, it's so good !! Very reasonable prices. I wish they had a size smaller than the 12oz for the kids. They still manage to waste most of it. read more

This place is wonderful! They have hundreds of flavors for their shaved ices, which is the main reason I go here. I normally get clear vanilla(I think that's the name). There are several different vanilla flavorings. This time I got there sour grape flavoring which I loved. There are also toppings, marshmallow being the best in my opinion, which can be added to your snow for a nominal fee. It made my mouth pucker with the first few bites. They have plenty of other desserts & copious food choices. I got the clam strip dinner for $9.95. It came with a generous portion of clams, fries, cole slaw, & a 16 oz. snow; a very good deal! I took my food home & it was still nice & hot while the slaw, ketchup, & cocktail sauce were cold. I have never been disappointed with anything I've gotten here. They have either walk up or drive through service. It does take a little while to get your order, especially food, when they are busy. My only complaint would be the unkempt outside eating area; trash should be emptied more often, & tables should be cleaned more frequently. I will definitely be back plenty more times this summer. Oh...we had our dog with us & had forgotten to bring along water for her. They gave us a free little container of shaved ice & even offered to put some vanilla flavoring in it; very niiiice. read more

The staff is VERY friendly and the owners are VERY helpful. They took the time to come around the counter and teach me what the specialty flavors are. I tried the Hot Stuff, Dragon Juice and the State Champ flavors. They are all awesome blends! The ice is shaved so fine that it almost feels like ice cream in your mouth. I will definitely be spending more time there while I'm on York! I will be trying some stuff from the kitchen soon. I'm a sucker for crab cakes and I saw that on their menu. If they put the same quality into their food as their snow cones, I won't be disappointed! read more

What is summer like without Snow Palace? I feel bad for non-Yorkers who have never experienced this local favorite. Sure, lines can be long in the hotter months, but isn't that part of the fun? You know that either your food or snow is going to be fantastic. I'm someone who doesn't necessarily like change, and I tend to order the same thing every time I go. Red raspberry/vanilla snow with marshmallow topping. There's something about marshmallow and shaved ice that is just wonderful. And DELICIOUS. This isn't the type of shaved ice where the flavor lasts for two bites and then you're left with just ice; it's like a mix between shaved ice and Rita's. Flavor with every bite. The employees at Snow Palace are great too. They make sure you are taken care of and are always so friendly. I'm so glad we have a great place like this in York! P.S. the mac and cheese wedges are fabulous too! read more

This place is terrible. I ordered a concrete and they gave me a cup that was barely a 1/3 of the way full. I had to ask for them to fill it up more and they acted like I was crazy for wanting more custard. They barely filled up the cup on the most expensive item on the menu. Ridiculous. I apologize to whom may concern, that this review is over 20 years late. Okay, let me set the precedent. Summer of 1994, finally graduating high school in Richmond, VA, taking time off to visit family in York, PA. Good times, many, many good memories that I could honestly write a best selling memoir about; if I was a good writer that is. One fond memory, and I am happy but not at all surprise this place is still open, was the Snow Palace. My cousin introduced me to this place, and after having the Honey Dew Imperial Snow, my life was never the same. Talk about delicious! I have been hard pressed to find anything cold that tasted better. I returned years later (1999 maybe) to visit my wonder extended family, and of course I had to relieve my bliss. I don't think I ever tried any other flavors other than honey dew, pina colada with honey dew, and honey dew and and pina colada with marshmallows and coconut - which is deliciousness overload! I never even had a burger, fries, or any other food item. It was all about the Imperial Snow. There is a reason the letters are in big, bright, colorful letters. I almost want to hop in my car and ride there and wait until opening to have another one. Iove this place! read more
