Worthless service! You say you want to support kids physically, mentally, and socially? To be honest, I don't see any support in there only being seen once a week, especially if you have an only child. Not an useful service who are trying to make a living, especially for those who are single parents. Snohomish County needs to make more Center-Based Early Head Start Programs, and make center-based programs that are based off of income. It's not right to make center-based Head Start Programs only for children 3-5 years old. I know 3-5 is preschool age, but come on, if your trying to support children of ALL ages physically, mentally, and socially, then make Center-Based Programs for children of all ages 0-5 years and have each classroom for a different age group...one classroom for infants, a few different classrooms for toddlers and a couple for 3-5 years old (preschool-aged children).
On the other hand, I have to compare. I've been living in Spokane, WA for 15 months; however, I plan on moving back to the westside so I'm closer to family. I currently have my 15-month-old daughter in a Center-Based Early Head Start program here, and she's been in a Center-Based program since I moved here in May 2021...my daughter was 3 months old when she started, and they're very supportive of her, especially socially since she's around other kids.
Overall, whoever is in charge of the Early Head Start Programs in Snohomish County, I'd like to make a complaint due to the unsupportive service and have them make more center-based programs. There's more support in a center-based program than a home-based program, especially in the social development side. read more
