I have been contemplating writing a review for some time... and I just can't let it go. I don't…read morewant someone else's hair ruined. I went to get a curly cut almost 2 months ago from Diana. I was specific with what I wanted and didn't want; unsure I'd love the reference photos I took in because my hair has a wavier beach texture and a tighter curly texture the longer it gets, but we talked about it and I thought we were on the same page. I was wrong. I had gone in with mid back, cut straight across hair (very beautiful curls). Wanted some layers and softer U shape... left with.... A tragedy. I had been growing my hair out for 2-3 years at that point, trying to get its length and thickness back to where it was before a bad haircut and home dye job prior. Diana had cut my hair last at Shear and I remember leaving happy enough with it the first time, so I figured I'd give it another try. I wasn't looking for anything dramatically different anyways- I was in love with the length and thickness- just wanted some blunter cut layers and a little shape... nothing thinned or super short. In fact, I even make sure to mention how I wear my hair normally (with no heat, just product, brush, air dry), often in a bun, and with all hair tucked away seeing as I have a baby under the age of 1. she went for it. Between talks and the fear of being a picky client, i let her take off with confidence. Toward the ends of the dry cut, nothing felt too different... until we washed and dried. I stood up to go the wash bowl and SO much of my thick curly hair was left on the floor. I panicked, and tried to play it cool, keeping conversation, laughing, and talking myself into loving it the whole time it dried. I stood up to go and said I loved it, hoping I did... paid, left, and cried. I got home a few hours later, and wept. Seriously. I had spent so long trying to grow my hair out and loved it, but wanted to just add a little life and instead I left with a short layered shag. Ends extremely thin, curtain bangs-esq that were very uneven and almost inverted in their cut... and so much of my gorgeously thick hair was left a memory. The cut, plus two products I grabbed ended up costing me nearly $200. This was my first treat to myself post-partem and I was really heart broken. I called the salon to tell them how I felt, and they told me there really wasn't anything they could do. I knew that, but I was hopeful they'd try? They told me it wasn't like they could do much since it was shorter than wanted and overly layered, but if I had a suggestion to let them know... that was nice, but didn't change the fact that my curly pattern in the front where my bangs got chopped STILL hasn't returned to "normal" post curl-shock, or that my heart was so broken for all the time and care I had put into my hair the last few years. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you know exactly what you want, and don't care much about results. - as kind as possible.

Cuts By Us on Madison Blvd hair stylist Keilah Harris is very unprofessional. She braggs and talks…read moreabout services she can perform and how great she can do things to get you sucked in. Once she starts on your hair, she walks around gossiping, telling Alexa what music to play, she's popping and dancing in front of customers while they are sitting in her chair. I confirmed my appointment with her for a new sew in a few days before my appointment. I let her know what products and how many I would be purchasing for her to use on my hair. She agreed. I bought 2 packs of sew in weave and she only used 1. She ran out of the sew in thread. I had to get up with a partially started head and go to a beauty supply store myself and buy more thread. When I returned with the thread she was sitting down laughing and talking. A professional like she claim she was would not run out of of any products she knew she had to use on a client's head. She also let me know she was only going to use 1 pack of weave on my head and she knew I had purchased 2 packs. She told me the pack of weave she opened was brown instead of black. I told her I bought 1B for off black. I believe that when I left to go get more sew in thread she switched my expensive pack of weave out with some of her used weave. I think she lured me to go get sew in thread so she could switch my weave out with used weave and made it seem like the wrong color was in the pack I bought. Another reason I feel she switched my weave out with some used weave while I was gone, is because this weave she put in my head is real tangly and frizzy. My Milky Way brand weave has never been tangled and frizzy. It looks like my natural hair. My sew in was a crappy sew in job. My hair looked better the way I went in than what it looked like coming out. It was definitely not worth the $175.00 job that I paid her for. Keilah Harris couldn't touch anything on my head ever again. Her supposedly sew in on my head took twice the amount of time to do my head, than a real professional who really knew how to do a sew in. I left Cut By Us feeling busted, disgusted, and felt cheated out of my money. I ended up having to go pay another stylist to add more weave to my head and trim it better. You can tell the difference in the weave, with me going to someone else and it was actually my Milky Way weave the other stylist added to my head. I called back the next day to complain. One of the other workers supposedly notified upper management and they lied for her and said she was going to leave and go get the sew in thread, but I volunteered to go. She and the other workers lied, because Keilah Harris didn't have a car to go get sew in thread. Someone came to pick her up when she finished my hair. One of her kids walked in and asked her was she ready. I really feel now that she lied about running out of thread to lure me to leave the shop, while she switched out my expensive weave for cheap weave and the wrong color. Now I see why she didn't use 2 packs of weave on my hair. I would have noticed the difference right away that was not my Milky Way weave and the same weave that I bought. I should have took my products out with me when I left to go get more sew in thread. I found out Keilah Harris did not put my services in the computer because I paid her cash and she pocketed the money. I reported it immediately to an area manager name Belinda at (941) 276-7382 and she told me to give her a couple of days while she have cameras reviewed. She said she didn't know they performed any other services there besides hair cuts. I let her know another worker name Erica was doing a perm on an older lady's head. So workers there are performing services on the side and not putting the services in the computer and are pocketing the money. I did not hear back from the area manager Belinda in a couple of days, so I called her back. She immediately had her voice mail say she was on a conference call and she would call me back. I even texted her. I have proof of my texts to her that she read them. She ignored my texts and she ignored my calls.
