Cuts By Us on Madison Blvd hair stylist Keilah Harris is very unprofessional. She braggs and talks about services she can perform and how great she can do things to get you sucked in. Once she starts on your hair, she walks around gossiping, telling Alexa what music to play, she's popping and dancing in front of customers while they are sitting in her chair. I confirmed my appointment with her for a new sew in a few days before my appointment. I let her know what products and how many I would be purchasing for her to use on my hair. She agreed. I bought 2 packs of sew in weave and she only used 1. She ran out of the sew in thread. I had to get up with a partially started head and go to a beauty supply store myself and buy more thread. When I returned with the thread she was sitting down laughing and talking. A professional like she claim she was would not run out of of any products she knew she had to use on a client's head. She also let me know she was only going to use 1 pack of weave on my head and she knew I had purchased 2 packs. She told me the pack of weave she opened was brown instead of black. I told her I bought 1B for off black. I believe that when I left to go get more sew in thread she switched my expensive pack of weave out with some of her used weave. I think she lured me to go get sew in thread so she could switch my weave out with used weave and made it seem like the wrong color was in the pack I bought. Another reason I feel she switched my weave out with some used weave while I was gone, is because this weave she put in my head is real tangly and frizzy. My Milky Way brand weave has never been tangled and frizzy. It looks like my natural hair. My sew in was a crappy sew in job. My hair looked better the way I went in than what it looked like coming out. It was definitely not worth the $175.00 job that I paid her for. Keilah Harris couldn't touch anything on my head ever again. Her supposedly sew in on my head took twice the amount of time to do my head, than a real professional who really knew how to do a sew in. I left Cut By Us feeling busted, disgusted, and felt cheated out of my money. I ended up having to go pay another stylist to add more weave to my head and trim it better. You can tell the difference in the weave, with me going to someone else and it was actually my Milky Way weave the other stylist added to my head. I called back the next day to complain. One of the other workers supposedly notified upper management and they lied for her and said she was going to leave and go get the sew in thread, but I volunteered to go. She and the other workers lied, because Keilah Harris didn't have a car to go get sew in thread. Someone came to pick her up when she finished my hair. One of her kids walked in and asked her was she ready. I really feel now that she lied about running out of thread to lure me to leave the shop, while she switched out my expensive weave for cheap weave and the wrong color. Now I see why she didn't use 2 packs of weave on my hair. I would have noticed the difference right away that was not my Milky Way weave and the same weave that I bought. I should have took my products out with me when I left to go get more sew in thread. I found out Keilah Harris did not put my services in the computer because I paid her cash and she pocketed the money. I reported it immediately to an area manager name Belinda at (941) 276-7382 and she told me to give her a couple of days while she have cameras reviewed. She said she didn't know they performed any other services there besides hair cuts. I let her know another worker name Erica was doing a perm on an older lady's head. So workers there are performing services on the side and not putting the services in the computer and are pocketing the money. I did not hear back from the area manager Belinda in a couple of days, so I called her back. She immediately had her voice mail say she was on a conference call and she would call me back. I even texted her. I have proof of my texts to her that she read them. She ignored my texts and she ignored my calls. read more

If you're going to style all types of hair, you should have stylists that know how to do it. I'm black, my hair is natural. I came in for a silk press and a trim. My hair was trimmed wet, and it's natural state instead of being straightened to ensure that it was being cut evenly. There was nothing silky or pressed about my hair when I left. read more

I have been frequenting this salon for probably 2 to 3 years. It is always a hit and miss .I've sat in someone's chair for two hours before for a so-so haircut and I've sat in someone else's chair for 20 minutes for the perfect haircut. It all depends on what mood they are in that day, and if their friends come in to chitchat with them, the minute they do they lose interest in what they are doing on your head. Do not us JEFF at the Madison Blvd location. I went in to get a trim. Iv been going there for a few years. Only three hairdressers were there THIS DAY! Two were busy when I walked in. I asked Jeff if he could trim my hair. No response. He just went to the back out of site! I felt like he was not interested in Trimming my short hair. I waited a few minutes for the young man closest to the front door. He was very welcoming! Took him only a few minutes! I left pleased with my trim. However, my complain is with the Jeff who I felt completely ignored me, so unprofessional. read more

Horrible experience for my sister who went in, asked for her highlights to be blended in a little better and she came out with two toned hair that makes her look like a skunk. I feel so bad for her, as she's too embarrassed to go out in public now. Now place should be allowed to abuse customers this way. They practical stole $100 from her and ruin her hair for 6 months. I have never been so miss treated in my life. The young lady was rude and keep rolling her eyes. Just like everybody else I was there for a hair cut. I just don't understand why young people have no manners or feel there are no consequences for their actions. She really expected me to be ok with her saying she couldn't do my kinda hair. $17 for an adult hair cut isn't bad at all. However, the people working could have been a little kinder. I've worked as front desk at a salon before, and was trained to be a LOT more professional. I know everyone there has good intentions, but the customer service wasn't excelling at all. Immediately as we walked in, the lady who was sitting at the front desk just stared at us and didn't say anything (this happened a second time where someone walked in, was waiting patiently at the desk, and the lady kept talking to her coworker until our stylist took over for her again in the middle of my siblings haircut. The two coworkers were talking about their schedules). Another stylist took over for her, asking what we were there for, how he could help us, etc. My younger sibling was there to get a hair cut, and I explained to him what they wanted. He got them in the chair immediately, which was awesome! The haircut only took about 15-20 minutes, but there wasn't any "How has your day been?" "My name is ___. What's yours?" Etc. It's a very "get in the chair, and get out" type of salon. The haircut wasn't blended at all, very choppy. We have to go get it fixed at another salon. After we walked out, my sibling got upset because he was kind of aggressive with their hair. He didn't ask if they had a sensitive scalp. I noticed when I'd look over to see how it was going, that he was pulling and tugging a lot more than I'm used to seeing. Checkout was smooth. I'd recommend, as a customer and a customer service representative, to work on being more polite and actually trying to get to know the person who is in your chair. read more

i have only ever gotten my haircut a handful of times at a salon and started cutting my own hair years ago just to avoid the experience. but this was by far THEE SMOOTHEST AND QUICKEST AND MOST SATISFACTORY experience i've encountered my entire life. gives me hope haha. i'm visiting from out of town and really appreciate jeff's work ethic and professionalism. he was strait to the point, did exactly what i asked for; a simple trim instead of chopping it all off or making decisions for me. there really is something special, unique and preferable to me getting a hair cut from a man who genuinely likes cutting hair rather than trying to sell you something. i was in and out within 6 mins and have never been so pleased with such a simple request remaining exactly that, simple with zero anxiety. thank you jeff! read more

I went in to have my hair colored. Not just any color but a multi-color "fun" color for my hair. Randy was my stylist and I told him what I was looking for and showed him a picture. Been looking for a decent place to get my hair cut and eyebrows waxed. Other places in town I've visited have been very poorly represented to say the least. I drove over to the Madison store and was greeted by Amy. Amy was a pure delight! I give her all the stars. She did an amazing job. Only reason I left off one star is the fact that the store was overcrowded and people where to close together. The fact the guests next to me smelled horrid and I had to set through that is most definitely not the salons fault but that was the only negative was setting so close to a smelly person. Went in for a woman's cut. Said "I want to be able to pull it off my neck into a small ponytail, but outside of that, I want it as short as possible. I know that may need to have the front a little longer than the back, and I'm OK with that" Cutting starts. Stylist insisted on putting product into my hair to make it fuller (I have thin, fine hair. Product does nothing for me, but she insisted.) She says she's done and shows me that I can still pull it back into a ponytail, which is still pretty long, so I said to take another inch off. She started clipping at the back and then, next thing I know she's clipped the front the same length as the back. Finishes that time and shows that most of my hair will go into a ponytail, but say that I will need to put the front bits into clips because they're too short to stay in the hair tie. Huh. So you mean the front has to be a little longer in order for it to stay in the hair tie? You don't say. Maybe I should have asked for that to be done from the start... Oh, wait. I DID! Now I will need to wait months for this to grow out so I can try to find someone who will listen. Will not go back here. read more
