My kids have a food coloring allergy and they don't often use a ton of synthetic food coloring in their ice cream so it's a great option for us. The scoops are large, we always. Order half of a mini scoop which is their smallest size. They have punch cards too. If I was being nit picky, I'd say more comfortable seating would be nice in place of all the shelving. Thorough review: Although I'm too young to have enjoyed Snelgrove Ice Cream at one of the parlors in Salt Lake City, I grew up getting it from grocery stores and was so sad when it stopped being available in 2008. I just happened to see this new Snelgrove storefront when I drove through St. George and was so excited to see that Snelgrove's descendants have revitalized it! We stopped in and chatted with one of the owners, who was very friendly and told us about how it came to be and let us try samples. They have original recipes and some new flavors that were all yummy! It has been impossible to find anything like Burnt Almond Fudge (my late grandfather's favorite flavor that we would eat on his birthday in his memory), so I got that flavor, as well as Thunder Crunch and Raspberry Oreo. (You can get 3 flavors in your 2.5 scoops for the small size, which was a generous but perfect amount, if you like more than a taste, which you'll want--trust me!) Burnt Almond Fudge was even better than I remembered. Thunder Crunch--a nod to the local high school--was a delicious mix of dulce de leche and chocolate ice creams with Skor and Twix pieces. And the Raspberry Oreo was chock-full of fresh and flavorful raspberries (they don't use syrups), which tasted amazing. I'm picky about my ice cream, and I absolutely give Snelgrove's 5 stars. They also get bonus points for supporting local businesses and providing them space to sell their goods! read more
