IExit says $2.99 and it's actually $3.29 so we got a little gas and headed down the road. Bad business practice....

It also goes without saying that out this way in Penfield there are not exactly a lot available options for quick-easy grocery items. You basically have this place and a new-ish looking Dollar General right down the road on 255. Past that? Ten plus miles to Sheetz or Wal-Mart in DuBois? Half of the store has snacks and drink coolers and the other half is set up where you could sit and eat from their small restaurant/grill. They also had signs up everywhere about them converting part of the store into a beer cave. Up this way, that will be a big seller. I was looking for firewood (which they have an abundance of outside in front of the store) since the stuff the park was selling was wet and didn't burn nice at all plus some charcoal which this place does not carry (no biggie as the aforementioned Dollar General has a large Kingsford display as soon as you walk in the front door). If you're at Parker Dam, this place isn't too far from the cabins at about five miles and with it being open 24/7 + having gas it really is a convenient place to stop if you're in the area.

Lord, if a business could get a five star review for the drama taking place outside of the…read morebusiness, this Sheetz would be soaring high. I mean, a gas station in a Rust Belt area of a downtown that hasn't bounced back yet, bit of a stereotype, but kind of spot on. We were heading north on Route 219 and needed to stop to use the facilities. Last time I was through this area, this location was in the midst of a rebuild. Kind of glad they did, it feels bigger, and at the same time felt a bit crowded...I'll tell you why. When we pulled into the lot we spotted a parking spot right near the door and was about to pull in. That is until the drama unfolded. We were literally in the middle of pulling into the spot when a shirtless man appeared in the spot. He was closely followed by a fully clothed man. There was much shouting, a lot of posturing, in your face screaming, threats of bodily harm to one another. All while we idled right in front of them. That is until I told my brother to move to another spot. We backed out, headed to the other side of the store. As we headed that way I saw they had moved out of the spot and into the throughway of the lot. I also noticed that a guy was kind of trapped in his car waiting for them to move along so he could get out and go in the store. As we walked to the door, you could still hear the yelling and threats. Inside, we used the facilities and browsed a bit. I picked up a drink from the cooler and a snack from the aisles. On my way up to the self checkouts the one guy in the outside drama came back in. In a gloating manner he says that the other guy wouldn't lay a finger on him so he couldn't do anything. Not sure who he was saying this to. Maybe it was to someone in the store, maybe it was to the staff who more than likely had to deal with the other man, or maybe it was to no one in general. One thing I can tell you, it wasn't said to me. For what should have been a quick stop on are trek north, it turned into an entertaining stop. Not that we wanted or needed that, but it was a welcomed thing to witness. What made it funny was that no one local batted an eye at the incident, like it was a constant occurrence.

It is essentially a truck stop, so be prepared for that. I'm not sure what was here prior, if you pull up maps on Google it looks like it might have been a Pacific Pride location before Sheetz bought out the truck portion and expanded their station. But it somehow works. There is ample room in the parking lot and allows for flow of traffic to continue. By basically having two lots, one for trucks and one for basic use, they really make it work in here. I needed to use the facilities while here and I have to say that this is by far the biggest bathrooms I have come across at any location. They are well maintained and well used. The store seems to have a little bit more of a selection than most other locations. No matter what you a looking for you should be able to find it in here. I was pleasantly surprised by this. Not that I needed anything.

(I am legally disabled and am provided monthly allowances via said cards.) She stated out loud that she "couldn't do it." I had some cash on me and was quite embarrassed because of the blatant discrimination and because of the line of people amassing behind me. I always request a receipt for all Sheetz transactions because the cashiers are known to shortchange and because Brian, whose title I assume to be Manager, boldly declared "Order xxx due WITH receipt." I asked for the receipt and she said no, shaking her head. No discussion to be had. I walked to the side and there was my shake, sitting on the counter where they prepare them. I waited 5 minutes before politely asking for it. The person who made it said nothing and exited toward the back of the store. I just threw my hands up in the air and left. No one would help me? In short, I was ripped off by Sheetz yet again.
