We went here one night while staying in the area. For the positives: The ice cream was good. They had a decent selection of soft serve and hand dipped. Prices were decent. Now the negatives: The staff were horrible. They acted like we inconvenienced them by getting ice cream. My husband paid with a card and the teenage girl decided to use his card to clean up some sprinkles that were on the counter. She then proceed to hand him back his card with sprinkles still on it! This is a little restaurant, but I would expect some professionalism. The area where you order your ice cream was small and cramped. read more

I love them so much they're food service and ambiance is all amazing they're nicely old fashioned and delicious although sometimes the wait can be a bit long sometimes but you can't say no about them these lady's and men work so hard to make our food perfectly for us they deserve so much help. I would love to help make a fundraiser to help remodel the outdoor dining area a tidy bit I used to love eating outside and now since I have kids I tend to keep them inside when were there due to the river being outback and the fence is broken would recommend that being remodeled so it's safe to eat back there on very nice days in the summer. read more

FOOD: My favorite is the fish sandwich and fries. It's hard to find a good fish sandwich that actually tastes like a good fish sandwich. This place has it! My hubby loves their foot long hot dogs with all the goodies on top. Actually though, the fries are the star of the show! If you are craving a good order of fries, go here and get 'em. You won't be disappointed! SERVICE: The manager works alongside the other servers and she's usually there when we stop in. She's been there many years and has a strong knowledge of good customer service and takes great care to make sure your service is good. As with any restaurant with good food, it's a busy place, so please have patience. Their food is well worth waiting for! AMBIANCE: A nice little restaurant with a 50's feel. They have some interesting memorabilia from the past that gives you a glance into some of the businesses that once thrived in the area. Comfortable booths and tables. Clean restrooms. read more

Well to start. Our soccer team had an amazing practice. We all ended up at the old town dairy. With all the old photos on the walls of families enjoying the dairy over the year you'd think this would be a very acceptable place to find good food and great people! That is abs it the case. Our team was ordering ice cream at 6:50 and we all sat in the back. While we were receiving our orders the waitress Andy came and blocked off the back section with a rope. 6 kids two adults and two other full tables. When a table of older people got up I helped move the rope for them to Leave out of the exit door! The waitress Andy came back from the kitchen stomping with rage scaring the back is closed got in my face in front of all those children and said again don't touch the rope! I kindly asked her to speak to the manager and she literally disappeared. I went up front to ask for the owners phone number and Robin an assistant manager said she would not give me the phone number to the owner (Luanne Ireland)I was requesting. She then listened to what I had to say and did absolutely nothing. She then said again that the back closes at 7pm. I responded with why would you close off the back with a rope if people are still enjoying the ice cream we paid for! FIRE HAZARD MUCH! The younger girl who wouldn't give her name eyeballed my family up and stood at the window smelling as we derive off with zero explanation to why the waitress was so rude and unprofessional. The employees stand right outside the doors and smoke cigarettes! In this day of age it's a max that people still feel the need to be absolutely insane over someone helping an elderly table get to the door! The table I was in was the soccer team and the parents were not even able to cross the rope to sit with their own children! I will be contacting whoever I can and reporting this also to the bbb. I've had problems here in the past but none bad enough to drive me away from wanting to return. This will definitely be last visit! Blue cow has better food better employment opportunities happier employees and a good food menu. This place is literally diner food sold by people that have no care for the people they serve! read more

Great ice cream! Love Hershey's dipped- can't find it anywhere Else around except here and reasonable waiting times and prices!! Love the diner theme As well, very welcoming place to get a quick scoop of ice cream! read more

The ice cream here is typical of the soft-serve and hand-dipped available at a variety of other road-side joints. The staff were friendly and attentive. The prices are, as previously noted, quite inexpensive. I haven't tried the hot food. read more

Extremely reasonable prices on a wide range of ice cream options (shakes, cones, sundaes, hard vs. soft ice cream, etc.). We got a large "flurry" a large sundae ($3) and a kids sundae for a total of $8 on a recent Saturday night. All items were quite good. Ice cream is not home made (that would have earned a 5th star) but many flavors are available from typical to teaberry. There's a walk up window which stayed busy while we were there but there's also an inside dining area with a 50's diner theme and a patio in the back that overlooks the river. A handful of ratings show up on other sites, they are consistently 4-5 stars and with similar, positive comments. read more
