I always feel like I am being a hassle by simply existing or needing to check out. They always seem super stressed, and I'll be at there extremely busy so I cut them some slack, but I just feel bad if I ever have any questions or anything like that because they make me feel unwelcome. Don't get me wrong, there are still some that are very kind, but I just think that this location is too small for the amount of customers who go in. It's almost always insanely packed to the point where I have to park at the neighboring stores

It started with sauerkraut on the hot dogs, and has since expanded to what I considered to be a core benefit, the well-priced propane tank refills. There also used to be a recurring deal around Black Friday for a heavy discount on NY Strip or Beef Tenderloin (for the whole portion, where you have to cut your own), and no more take and bake pizzas? Come on y'all. Help us out. Still, my membership is easily paid for every year in just gas alone, among many other things where they just can't be denied. This location in Apex, definitely not my home location, and I'm going to go ahead and be very thankful for that. I happened to be in the area on my way back to the Triad and needed gas, which turned into a WHOLE THING. This was a Saturday, and yeah, Costco on a Saturday is generally very busy. Expected. But this place was total gridlock. You could not move in certain spots, because traffic is not effectively funneled onto any kind of main thoroughfare through the parking lot. Whoever designed this parking lot needs to be forced to exist in it and instantly regret all their choices. The Costco gas station, is at the epicenter of the nonsense, and that makes it even worse of a problem. All told, I would have happily paid 30 cents a gallon more at any other gas station on my route. I didn't know this would be nearly a half hour detour. Not a mistake I'll make again. There has to be a way to improve this situation.

Now that I live further away, I only stop by if I'm in the area for other reasons and need something from BJ's. We need to pick up some floss on the way home and made a 10 minute stop at this BJ's. Super organized and clean, and we had no issue finding our ways around here to get our shopping done. Parking lot is HUGE, and there are special parking spots for customers with children. I will be back again for my next pit stop to buy something on the go if I'm in the area.

So when we pulled up directions, and saw this location was also on the way home, we decided to do our shopping here. Easy to get in and out of, close access to the highway, they have all the amenities, including a gas station. The store was well stocked, and our limited interaction with staff (we did self check out) was pleasant. The carried everything we were looking for, only issue we had was finding things, as it was layer out as a mirror image to our usual location. No complaints, would shop here again, and would recommend, no crazy over crowding like Costco, good pricing/bargains on bulk items.

Also, no one was wearing a mask besides me. I thought that was weird, but HEY...whatever. I went before noon. It wasn't packed at all, which I loved. I wasn't greeted upon entry but that's all good. I just wanted to start shopping and get it over with. I usually have my groceries delivered, but I couldn't today. Bummer because it was hot as you know what outside. I was able to find everything I needed and then some. The store is organized and clean. There was ONE cashier working by himself though & I had to go to him with a huge cart full of items. I felt so badly for him. Lol. He was kind of slow, but he placed my items so beautifully inside my cart. He really took his time to make sure everything fit & wasn't squished. I left and got home to some very smelly flounder from their "fresh" seafood section. I was disgusted & now I have to waste gas going back to return it. All in all, my visit wasn't that bad. I will go back for sure. I may just skip the seafood section.

Yesterday when I was shopping a young man was harassing me about a Verizon phone plan. I literally had to walk away from him while he was still talking. Then another man approached me trying to sell me T-Mobile services, wouldn't stop talking and kept following me when I was walking away and was even laughing! This is unacceptable and I will not shop here any longer.

This review is for the Optical Department ONLY!…read more Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate Costco. I mean honestly, deeply, and truly abhor this place. Not this location, the entire chain. Having said that, I am very happy with the service and value I received from the Optical department. The selection of frames is nothing to brag about but it's good enough. The opticians seem to know their jobs. The wait wasn't excessive and I received enthusiastic advice about which frames would suit me (and my prescription) best. The measurements were quick but apparently accurate and my glasses arrived sooner than promised. The worst part: The optician would not stop pushing me to get a second pair of glasses no matter how many times I told her I neither wanted nor needed a second pair. "But it will only be $60 more!" Yes, and that's $60 I don't need to spend on something I don't want. The best part: The prices. The optician in my optometrist's office quoted me over $600 just for the lenses, frames extra. My total at Costco - progressive bifocals with high index lenses, frames included - was $233. Considering that I have no optical insurance this kind of pricing makes a big difference.

I usually enjoy shopping at Costco, but my recent visit to the Raleigh location was a bit…read moredisappointing. The store seemed understaffed, a lot of carts were overflowing in the parking lot. A lot of people were also waiting for the rotisserie chicken to come out. When one batch did, they were all gone within seconds. A lot of produce had stickers on the bags that were 2 weeks old. I grabbed a chicken bake and a banana strawberry smoothie from the food court. Both were just so-so -- not terrible, but definitely not memorable. Chicken bake was hot and filling, I can only finish about half with the smoothie. Only the cheesy, crusty bread stood out. The smoothie was on the sweeter side and thick that you can't drink it right away. Overall, still a convenient place to shop, but this visit didn't live up to the usual Costco experience. Hopefully it was just an off day. But I look back at previous visits and think it's not. One thing I normally look forward to is the samples, but during one visit a couple of weeks ago, one old lady who was handing out samples was a bit harsh when I took one from the tray. When I was getting my glasses order from their optical department, I put my name on the list to get in line. I kept coming back and forth and stayed close by. Saw there were no more customers so I wondered why they haven't called me. Finally approached one staff and she said there's no one in the list. Customer service also felt a little off. The staff I interacted with weren't particularly friendly or helpful, which stood out because Costco is usually better about that. Costco is still a good place to buy things in bulk and worth going to, but I would rather go to another Costco location than this one.

If you cook Thai food, you…read morealready know the heartbreak of bouncing between stores looking for that one herb that makes or breaks a dish. Happy to report--this place delivers. First pass through produce and I'm already mentally planning three meals. Chinese broccoli (gai lan), Green papayas, Green mangoes, Garlic chives, Thai eggplants, culantro--stacked like they knew I was coming. And then the unexpected jackpot: baby mangoes. Not something you casually stumble upon, and definitely the kind of find. The store itself is clean, well-organized, and surprisingly easy to navigate given how deep the inventory goes. Only tiny hiccup: no Thai basil on this visit. Not a dealbreaker, but the one missing piece in an otherwise near-perfect haul. (I'll forgive it this time because... baby mangoes.)

Review for H Mart H…read moreMart is one of my favorite Korean grocery stores--ever. I remember when they first opened locations in the Bay Area in places like San Francisco and San Jose, and I would gladly make the trek just to shop there. I've never been disappointed. The stores are always clean, organized, and full of incredible food options. What really makes H Mart special, though, is that it's more than just a grocery store--it's an experience. Inside this massive market, you'll find a bakery, authentic Korean food stalls, and restaurant-quality meals being made fresh. It's honestly amazing to walk into a grocery store and have access to food that tastes like it came straight from a restaurant kitchen. Because I travel frequently for work across the Southeast--covering a pretty large region--I'm always on the lookout for an H Mart whenever I'm near one. I've been lucky to have access to locations like Cary, North Carolina, and the one in Buford outside Atlanta, which serves a large and vibrant Asian community. Whenever I'm within a reasonable driving distance--usually within about 10 miles--I make a point to stop in and enjoy a delicious, authentic Korean meal that's made to order and very reasonably priced. I've brought friends and colleagues with me, and they've all been blown away by the food stalls. My personal go-to: * LA galbi (Korean short ribs)--if it's on the menu, I'm ordering it * All the little banchan side dishes--I absolutely love them * Fresh seafood options, including live crab and fish that can be cleaned and prepared for you * A stop at the bakery for dessert--think croissant donuts, almond pastries, or a beautiful layered crepe cake Some locations--even the ones I visited years ago on the West Coast--would steam or fry seafood for you right there, which makes dinner incredibly convenient. Another thing I appreciate is the cleanliness. This store truly rivals places like Whole Foods in terms of organization and quality, even while handling live seafood. The parking lots are typically spacious, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. I also love browsing the aisles for specialty ingredients you can't find everywhere. For example, they carry my favorite laksa noodles, which remind me of a Malaysian dish I fell in love with while visiting a friend in Mauritius. It's always fun to discover unique items like that. The staff--both in the grocery store and at the food stalls--are friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. Bottom line: If you're anywhere near Cary, North Carolina--or even the Buford, Georgia area--do yourself a favor and make a beeline to H Mart. As a lifelong foodie, I truly believe: Life is too short not to eat well.
