My fiancé and I had an extremely upsetting and unprofessional experience with Snappy Photography and would strongly caution others before booking. When we received our engagement photos, it was immediately clear that my body had been altered in every single image. My size was noticeably reduced, and I looked significantly thinner than I actually am. I did not consent to any body modification, nor was I informed beforehand that this would be done. Seeing my body changed without permission was deeply upsetting and made me feel violated.
When we initially contacted Ashley, we were calm, respectful, and simply looking for an explanation. Days later, we received an email stating that no body modifications were made, which was incredibly frustrating and felt very dismissive. We later provided video proof showing the edits. Only then did we receive an apology, which unfortunately felt insincere and deflective. Instead of taking full accountability, the response centered on how Ashley felt her character was attacked, rather than addressing the harm caused to the client.
We were also not informed upfront that Ashley does not edit her own photos and that a third-party editor is used. We later learned this editor is Morgan, her boyfriend, who is also the owner of the startup. This lack of transparency made us extremely uncomfortable--especially knowing that he was the person who altered my body without consent.
The communication throughout this process felt impersonal and scripted, and at times appeared to minimize our concerns rather than acknowledge them. Ultimately, we did not use a single photo from our engagement session because they made me feel so uncomfortable and self-conscious. This experience impacted my confidence for weeks afterward.
Editing someone's body without consent is not a small mistake--it is a serious breach of trust. Transparency, accountability, and respect for clients are essential in this industry, and unfortunately, those were missing here.
I've attached a video that shows the drastic and damaging body modifications. I hope Morgan and Ashley can learn from this experience and understand how serious this was no person deserves to feel the way that I did. Luckily, I do not suffer with an eating disorder or body dysmorphia but if I did, that would've been extremely damaging. Please do better. read more
