Our friends in Oak Park referred us to Petite Studios. Even though we live in Arlington Heights, they assured us that driving to Naperville to work with Angelica to capture our daughter's first cake smash was worth the hike, and wow were they right. We were greeted with a fancy chalk board that read, "HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY BROOKE" upon arrival. The cake we used for the photo shoot was already there and waiting. Angelica even let our daughter wear her props of a pretty pink birthday dress and tierra head band. The studio was very bright and clean. Angelica has children of her own and was very experienced in how to work with a baby. Sometimes it's hard for a one year old to cooperate in looking at the camera and smile, sit still etc. - but Angelica knew how to accomplish this. I observed she would offer our daughter cheerios, or talk to her in a special way. She knew how to communicate with our baby to capture the perfect pose. We are beyond pleased with the final product! The whole experience of taking the photos was special and fun too. We will definitely be going back for a cake smash for our second child one day now! The last thing I want to add is the level of quality and uniqueness is unmatched to that of other photographers when you factor in the back drops and decorations used. The stage in which we took photos was so glamorous and fancy! What's also cool is Angelica allows you to select the color theme you want as well, whether you prefer purple, blue, pink, yellows, etc. Booking the session with Angelica was very easy. She was quick to respond to all my questions, as well as organize selection and delivery of the cake we used. We just had my son's 6 month photos as well as some family photos taken here. The photos were everything that I had hoped for and Angelica was really great to work with and really went above and beyond all of my expectations. She was very accommodating to our schedule while booking our session. Before the session she was in contact with me about my preferences and asked what my son would be wearing so that we could coordinate and make sure everything looked good. She even had an outfit at her studio that she offered to let our son wear. We were running about 30 minutes late for our appointment and was very understanding and saw us with no problem which really meant a lot because I was very stressed out! When we arrived she had a very cute sign posted with our son's name on it welcoming us to her studio and offered us drinks. As for taking the pictures... She was very friendly and professional and PATIENT! My son was not in a very good mood and didn't seem to be into having his pictures taken and he cried a lot. She was so helpful with him and tried getting him to smile, offered different poses/ideas that would make him more comfortable, had us play some songs for him to help calm him down, and even had her (very adorable) daughter come into the studio to try and make him smile. She also waited for me to nurse my son a couple of times. At no point during the session did she try to rush us at all! She probably spent at least 1.5 hours with us! She also had given our photos to us within the exact time frame that she had given us. Working with Angelica gave me a different outlook on photography sessions. I was in last month for a smash cake session with my one year old and I can honestly say the entire experience was nothing short of pleasant. Having done multiple photography sessions in the past with my baby, I was not looking forward to the smash cake session at all. We walked into personalized signs welcoming my son to the studio which I found adorable. Angelica, the photographer, was also very kind and welcoming and immediately made us feel much more at ease. She took the time to introduce herself and tell us a little about her professional experience as well as how the session was going to take place. She explained she's worked with a lot of babies throughout her career so a fussy baby was nothing to worry about. Her studio and everything in it along with her technique made the actual picture taking so easy. Despite my baby boy not necessarily cooperating with the actual smashing of the cake, the pictures turned out fantastic. She initiated the session by explaining exactly this and told us not to worry if my kid didn't necessarily go crazy over the cake because she already had planned on taking great pictures before and after the actual cake was brought in. Her patience was incredible and her ability to handle all situations with a great attitude was so relieving. The pressure and feeling of being hurried, unlike other sessions I've purchased with different studios, was nonexistent with Petite Studios. Being a first time parent, I knew I wanted to find a really good photographer to capture our baby's first photoshoot. I'm the type of person who looks for good reviews and stumbled upon Petite Studios online. Angelica was very responsive through email and answered all my questions in a timely fashion. She also was very accommodating considering that I gave birth late and we were able to reschedule our shoot. On the day, Angelica was very welcoming. She made us feel at home the instant we walked through her door. The studio in her home is so cozy and full of the cutest props & backdrops. She even had refreshments for parents! The shoot was about 3 hours long. She was very gentle and patient with our baby. We really felt like our daughter was in good hands while she was handling her. Baby slept for the most of the shoot which was a miracle! I loved the fact that we didn't have to bring much with us. All she asked was to bring a pacifier (optional), milk/formula for the baby and extra clothes for parents Incase of any accidents. Everything else, she had at the studio. My wife and I had our son's newborn and six-month pictures taken at Petite Studios. We could NOT have picked a better photographer for our little baby. Angelica's friendliness and enthusiastic attitude made for two very fun sessions. The sessions went very smoothly. Angelica seamlessly transitioned from pose to pose, despite the fact that our baby is very shy around people he doesn't see often. She is very creative with poses and every shot is unique, not to mention she has a ton of different backdrops and props. The pictures themselves turned out incredible. The morning of our newborn picture session, our baby scratched his cheek pretty badly. My wife and I were devastated and we called Angelica. She told us not worry since she has a lot of experience in editing and so we decided to trust her. We were astounded at her expertise with picture editing when we saw the finished product. It was as if our baby had never touched his face! Baby pictures are an investment, they grow so quickly and so it's important that you have a good photographer that captures your little one's early months. I found Petite Studio's on google (thank you google) when I was searching for someone to take my daughters 1st birthday cake smash pics. Angelica is amazing. She was so accommodating with scheduling the session around my daughter's nap even though she was leaving for a trip out of the country. Once we got there she had these adorable signs up welcoming Quinn to her photo session. Her studio is so welcoming and she is a gracious hostess. She made my daughter feel so comfortable and she warmed up to her right away. My daughter has never smiled, not even a little, for a professional session ever. She doesn't like the big black camera. However, she has this frog around her camera that spins and is so cute. She got a smile out of Quinn. She made this photos session really fun and easy. Cake smash photos are really messy but she was so nice even though I forgot towels to clean up. She ran a sink bath for us. If you want newborn pictures or smash cake pictures or any pictures for your children, I would definitely recommend Angelica. She is truly talented and you will not be disappointed. We cannot say enough great things about Angelica and Petite Studios. We received a newborn session as a Christmas present and I can tell my siblings did some research to pick the best photographer possible! From the beginning Angelica was flexible and on top of communication. When we found out that our daughter was going to be born a little early she made room in her schedule to fit us in at a different date. She sent out a questionaire so we had input on what we wanted and she was very responsive to it. We were able to bring some special keepsakes to be photographed with our daughter as well. Prior to our session she sent out suggestions on how to best prepare for our session so it would run smoothly. The day of she was well prepared with many different props and backdrops to make the session go well. She asked for our input as she was selecting different accessories, was very profrssional, had plenty of great ideas and a creative eye for capturing precious pictures. She took her time with us and treated us like family while we were in her studio. She was quick with processing the photos afterwards too. Angelica is a professional and a real artist. Angelica was absolutely wonderful to work with for our daughter's newborn photoshoot. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized. Each setup was ready, and the studio itself was clean, calm, and very welcoming. She was incredibly professional and patient, always making sure our baby was comfortable and settled before taking any photos. I highly recommend petite studios for your family portraits and mile stone photos of your baby! I chose petite studios for my sons first birthday pictures. I love supporting mom owned businesses versus corporations. Angelica was a true joy to work with Dearing the entire experience! She is a great communicator and so creative. I told her that my sons birthday party was Sesame Street themed and she created the perfect backdrop with props for his Elmo smash cake shoot. We also did the splash bath which made cleaning him up afterwards a breeze. We chose the upgraded package so we could have family pictures too, and and I am so glad! I feel like a lot of us new moms take a million pictures of the baby or others holding the baby but then we end up with not many pictures of ourselves with our babies!!! I still have a long way to go to get my pre-baby body back but I am still so glad I put my insecurities aside and took the family pictures! We booked in for a pregnancy and newborn photo shoot with Petite Studios LLC. My husband and I were a bit apprehensive about it since we have not taken professional pictures since our wedding day, but Angelica made us feel instantly comfortable and showed so much patience with our dog who as an expecting "big brother" was a very important part of our maternity photos. A month later when our daughter was born we went back to Angelica for the newborn photography. The session took place in Angelica's home studio where we were greeted with a welcome sign for our baby, flowers and we even got to taste her Mom's homemade cappuccino, delicious!!! Although our baby was a bit fussy for the first hour Angelica took some amazing pictures. We stumbled across Angelica on a bit of a whim and now look back as one of the greatest happy accidents. We scheduled our newborn shoot before our daughter's birth, and Angelica was incredibly accommodating and responsive. She offered great insight and suggestion for making her shoot special and reflective of our own style. The night before our session our little girl was up nearly the entire night (and us along with her) with colic. We nearly considered canceling but decided that perhaps Angelica could capture a few images in-between the crying. Over the course of three and a half hours Angelica patiently worked with our baby, calming her, dressing her, comforting her and making us feel so at ease. Not only was the studio experience exceptional, but the resulting images took our breath away. I cannot recommend Angelica enough for her talent, patience and overall kindness. We had the most wonderful experience during our maternity and newborn shoot with Angelica. She is amazing at her work as she exactly knows how valuable these events are. She accommodated us on a non working day due to continued cancellation of our outdoor maternity shoot(uncooperative weather). We were pleased to see how beautifully she captured the images and made them look so beautiful. The newborn shoot was preponed due to early delivery and she accommodated us well within her schedule and did an incredible job as she handled our 6 days old daughter perfectly taking the best shots of her. Petite Studios did a fabulous job on our daughters 1st Birthday photos! Angelica had every prop available from outfits to accessories to backdrops and was so flexible as we changed our minds because of all the options. As we were planning before the photo shoot, she recommended a place to order a beautiful cake from for the smash cake which made the experience top notch as the cake was delivered to the studio! Angelica was such a pleasure to work with, she was so warm, loving and welcoming for our family as we celebrated a first birthday! After the cake smash session she had a great bathroom for us to clean up the birthday girl after she had cake everywhere. The photos she took were one of the best we've received and it was too difficult to decide which ones to pick because they were all so amazing! We had our maternity, new born and cake smash shoot at petite studios and we absolutely loved our experience there. I am so glad that we chose Angelica to capture these precious moments for us. Words cannot come close to describing our excitement over the photos Angelica has taken of our baby. She has given us a gift that all parents should have: a preserved memory of their precious baby at their teeny tiniest. Even at six months old now, it still feels like forever ago that she was as tiny as she was in her newborn photos. We were so pleased with our newborn photos, we just did a six month shoot. I cannot say enough about my experiences working with Angelica at Petite Studios! From start to finish she makes the process go so smoothly. One of the things that I love that she does is right when you get there she sits on the floor and takes time to get the kiddos comfortable with her. I truly believe that is one of the main reasons both of our kids did so well during their sessions with her. She is a natural at what she does and takes the most beautiful pictures! After doing a lot of research online, I decided to go with Petite studios for my son's cake smash, mainly because Angelica's cake smash photos were so unique. And I am so glad I chose her! We had our session yesterday. She was soooooo good with my baby, and took such amazing photos! I am really excited to see them. She is also incredibly sweet and approachable. I realize she's extremely busy, but she always replied to my (hundreds of) messages within a few hours and made sure the background and the colors were exactly what I wanted.
