Each wall, the left and right is lined with various art pieces from what I imagine is local talent. The front is also showcasing a larger art display..a bit raunchy one I might add. Their are also several pieces out in the open and the certain walls are painted with intrigue. Overall I had a chill time. They had tables set up and the I appreciate all the extra space honestly. The venue is thoughtfully designed with two main levels. The downstairs ballroom serves as the primary event space with a full kitchen and dressing room, while upstairs features a large rooftop terrace, another dressing room, and a half kitchen that works well for cocktail hours or smaller gatherings. The entrance also showcases local art installations, which adds a nice cultural touch. One thing that really stood out during our tour is the value for the size of the venue. For the number of guests the space can accommodate, it's honestly difficult to beat the pricing compared to many other venues in the area. The only reason we ultimately didn't choose this venue came down to production limitations. They do not allow cold sparkler machines, "dancing on a cloud" effects, or direct mounting from the ceilings, which restricted some of the celebratory elements we were planning. They are also strict about approved caterers and vendors, which is understandable since previous events have caused permanent damage to the facility. Because our daughter's padrinos wanted to contribute to some of the more elaborate production elements, we had to explore other options. That said, if your event doesn't require those features, the Winter Park Events Center is an incredible venue with a modern design, great layout, and strong value. For weddings, galas, or milestone celebrations that fit within their guidelines, it's absolutely worth touring.

A newer building, inside and out, we spent our time on the first floor. The main room boasted plenty of natural light because of the nearly floor-to-ceiling windows. The size was large enough to boast many tasting stations along the outside walls and plenty of high-top tables to stand and enjoy the caterer's selections of entrees and desserts. Outside the windows, pleasant views of palm trees, the lake, and the adjacent park were enjoyable to take in. By the staircase in the hall leading to the main room, the tall wall boasted a beautiful stained glass portrayal of a peacock, a nod to the official bird of the city of Winter Park. (Right past the stairs, the bathrooms are located and found to be clean.) Overall, the Center is a very functional venue for a tasting event. What to be aware of: Parking. When we drove up to the center on Morse, I could quickly discovers that the few parking spots by the entrance were already full. Fortunately, the Winter Park Library is only a few paces from the center and its parking lot is right around the corner with plenty of parking.

I love jazz, so when I found out they host a jazz jam once a month I knew I had to check it out. the venue itself is incredibly unique; a converted home transformed into an intimate concert hall. it creates an atmosphere you simply can't get at a traditional music venue. there really isn't a bad a seat in the house. no matter where you sit you feel close to the musicians and complete immersed in the performance. It is a BYOW. They have a bartender on hand along with the glassware so you can bring a favorite bottle, settle into your seat and enjoy the music. It takes the entire evening feel more like being invited to an amazing private jazz performance than going out to a typical concert. The jazz was wonderful, the atmosphere was wonderful, and even the owner of the home who still lives there was an absolute joy. there's something incredibly charming about the experience. it feels personal, welcoming, artistic, and completely different from the usual Orlando nightlife. Ive been to a lot of places around Orlando and this is easily one of the best hidden gems in the entire city. Ive brought multiple people with me to enjoy the jazz, and they all say the same thing every time. Where is this place? I'm lost in a neighborhood and can't find it... Where is the entrance to this place? If that doesn't say hidden, then I don't know what else to say. SIDE NOTE: After attending on Aug 13, 2026, we were informed that the jazz jam is now moving to the second Wednesday of every month starting @7:30pm instead of 7pm.

I got the…read morechance to attend a poetry play here this past weekend on a date night in support of a fellow peer - who was performing. And my oh my, what a show it was and what a little local gem this truly is! On arrival, parking was a tad confusing as it is behind the school in the neighborhood it is located in. However, there is park parking - which is ultimately where we parked. It is in a residential neighborhood and can be a bit hard to catch if you are not paying attention to the building numbers. But we found our way nonetheless. Once parked, we walked down Timucua Arts and were immediately transported into this mini eclectic oasis. The pathway is adorned with beautiful plants and flowers decorated with little knick-knacks and garden decor. There's also a seating area with a table off to the right just before you enter. Once we entered, we were immediately greeted by the hosts, given our program, and directed into the main theatre space. We found our seats and waited for the show to start. The theatre has this awesome wooden pitched ceiling (roof) that carries the sound throughout the space very well. There is also a spiral staircase that climbs up two additional levels where additional seating can be found. After a quick wait time, the play/performance began, and we were fully engulfed in the wonders of "Into the Eye: A Sacred Storm." The performance was OUTSTANDING! Bravo to all! I am so happy we attended this performance because not only did we get to support local talent, but we also got to support a local business like Timucua! What a wonderful evening it turned out to be. I am looking forward to future shows and events here!

It is now." -- The words painted on the stairs leading to this magical place. How can I not be a fan of The Space? This DIY venue, with no signage, located above Anthony's Pizza in Mills 50 is just so crazy that it makes me want more. They host a bunch of odd/quirky/artistic events including Literocalypse (a monthly reading series featuring local writers), figure drawing art sessions, crazy dance parties (ex: SPACE-FEST), nude yoga, zine-release parties, musicians from all around, etc. Park behind Anthony's and walk up the stairs to find fantastically decorated hallways (sheets, sheets, and more sheets!) in what I imagine used to be a regular apartment. I went for Literocalypse one night and found myself wandering the apartment between readings. It seemed like people lived there- the kitchen looked like I had stocked it in my early college days and there were some homemade brownies sitting there, tempting anyone brave enough to take one. Their website, though minimal, hints to the goals of this place with a simple message at the top: "culture. expression. collaboration. education. inspiration. community. progress." It seems you can rent the space for events or to live there- "rental rates are flexible and donation based." I dig that they have a calendar of events that seems to be kept up to date. Unfortunately, I've heard that they've recently been throwing shows and events to raise money to save The Space and I hear that the actual physical space is for sale, but hopefully with the support of the arts community it will remain in its current iteration or another. In the end, Orlando is better for having these types of unique, non-judgemental venues for young artists to explore themselves and for us less artistic folks to enjoy something very real and untainted. And yes, I hear the dance parties are pretty freaking nuts (and hot, with only window AC units).

For $6 you can tour the history museum, art museum next door, and the Mayan themed gardens across the street. This campus is Greater Orlando's only National Historic Landmark, and was originally an artist retreat founded in 1937 by artist and architect Jules André Smith. The museum may be small but it is big on charm. We took a self guided tour although friendly staff is on hand to answer any questions. The museum collection of historical artifacts dates back to the late 19th century. The permanent exhibition is titled Maitland's Attic: A Journey Through A Small City's Past. Displays begin with the history of the First Peoples of Florida, followed by the start of the Art Center, the Florida Audubon Society, and ends in the 1970s in a room that would be familiar to anyone who grew up in that era. Behind the main building is another room housing the Telephone Museum established in 1981. The A&H's Telephone Museum explores the technology of communications and the history of the telephone as you explore how communications have changed throughout time. You can learn about the history of the Winter Park Telephone Company which was founded in Maitland. The Telephone Museum has working antique phones and switchboards. We had a great time reading the signs, looking at the collection, and reminiscing about the past. Whether you're a local resident or a curious traveler, a visit to the Maitland History Center is sure to be a memorable and enriching experience.

Galloway. It is worth it's modest $3 admission. The Maitland Historical and Telephone Museum is part of the overall complex of Maitland Art and History Museums (however, in those reviews, this particular museum has no photos nor reviews of it). I will be mentioning this as part of that review also. The general local history portion of the museum is self-guided, offering about 4 small galleries of artifacts and information. The telephone portion of the museum is given as a tour, and has interactive elements -- with the guide demonstrating the use of the switchboard, and guests encouraged to 'make calls' using the crank telephones and the like. Even if the history of that specific telephone company isn't an interest, the telephone museum offers an engaging look into the development of the technology and infrastructure of the early 20th centuries, and visitors will doubtless see parallels to the information revolutions that have occurred more recently. I also want to particularly mention our tourguide, Rachel, who was extremely friendly, helpful and engaging when providing historical information. She seemed genuinely engaged in her subject, and went the extra mile in helping us plan out our day at the various little museums within the complex.

4 Stars for location, location, location!…read more Eola House is a historic 1924 house-turned-rental space owned by the city, right by Lake Eola. It may seem like an odd sight in the middle of the park, but in fact it used to exist in a line of historic homes that were taken down for the park expansion. Now it sits alone, right off of the walking path surrounding the Lake. The home is lovely and features a sunroom, living room, parlor, outdoor terrace, upstairs area with a balcony, bridal changing room, and more. Recently I went for a lunch meeting in their upstairs space, the Summerlin Room ($75/hr rental with a 2 hr min). It was a lovely spot and fit our group of fifteen perfectly. I'll admit that I had been to the house once before to help with another event and the room wasn't set to the specifications agreed upon so we had to move and reset the chairs and tables right before the meeting. I remember the event organizer was quite annoyed... Hopefully it was a fluke! Side note- There is no elevator and the stairs are quite narrow. This is worth mentioning in case your event includes someone with mobility issues or who uses a wheelchair. As I was heading out I stopped in a room by the front and appreciated the array of pamphlets set up- ranging from history of the house to an Orlando biking map. There were also tourist pamphlets with the typical attractions (presumably for out of town guests of weddings of meetings). Overall, this is a beautiful meeting/event space that is priced reasonably and located in the heart of the city.

You really can't get a more picturesque spot than this. On the day we visited the flowers were blooming and swans wandered the grounds. Today the house is owned by the City of Orlando and they rent it for reasonable rates for private events like parties and weddings. A full listing of the prices can be found on their website. In addition the house has a welcome center and park offices. On the day I visited the house was closed and I could only peak through the windows. This looks like a fabulous venue for weddings and outdoor parties on the lawn.
