Art work outside of the event space
    Sheeka B.

2017's Yelp 100 Challenge 20/100 Came here for an event I saw on Yelp to celebrate African American art in pop culture and the media. It's located in little Saigon (what I call it, I'm new here lol), & it has ample parking in Snap! designated areas on a side street, it was a great use of space to showcase these beautiful portraits and I especially enjoyed the fact that there was enough room for two areas to serve drinks in the front and back. My only gripe is the entrance area. As this building hosts several other businesses, there are two entrance doors that aren't clearly marked with in or out, so you could be entering as someone is exiting and vice versa. Other than that, there was great music, beautiful art, and I met some really nice people. I plan to visit this space again for other events in the future!

Wow- what an amazing use of a beautiful, iconic Orlando building! Snap! Space is a neighborhood gallery in Mills50 that showcases fantastic local, national, and international photographers' work. This space used to be the Cameo Theatre in the 1920s and a few architects from Process Architecture (local firm) have helped restore the building's facade. The inside of the old theater is a huge, wide 1st floor with half painted and half rough walls and a fantastic, long outdoor space bordered by tall white walls. As you climb the stairs to the second floor you will see a window to the outdoor space (a great opportunity to peek out and for a shameless selfie). The opening show, Vintage Nouveau, is a beautifully curated photography show. It gives you an insight as to the aesthetic vision of Patrick Kahn (of Snap!, Orlando's huge annual art installation show) and makes you feel incredibly excited for shows to come. Everyone in Orlando needs to take an afternoon to check out this fantastic Orlando building and surprising gallery!

Snap!Orlando All about Warhol was yet another fabulous event put together by Snap! I loved everything about it from the Marilyn Monroe famous photo to the differents photos of Andy Warhol. This event took place in the gorgeous Orlando Museum of art and like I said before it was fabulous. The events are usually free but Snap!does accept donations. In addition to their location on Colonial drive at the old Cameo theater, Snap! Orlando is having events during the month of May throughout central Florida. In all honesty Snap! Orlando events are always fun and a great way to discover artists. I encourage people in Orlando and Central Florida to attend one of their events, you will certainly not be disappointed.

Beautiful beautiful art museum. Located in the same shopping center as Lineage Coffee and Lazy Moon Pizza, my little hipster heart is singing with joy at an all photography gallery only steps away. Their opening night parties are the place to be. A DJ spins music, people gather in small lounges, artist interaction, craft cocktails and small bites for patrons. Feel like an elite member of society even if your Chuck's have the sole blown out. Visiting hours during the week are very limited and short, but the entire gallery is FREE! The artists work changes every few months giving you plenty of reasons to come back. The place is sparkling clean with bright white walls contrasting each photo and everything is well lit. You can see each photo piece in ideal conditions. There are art books in a small lounge to peruse and many of their galleries extend throughout Orlando giving artists multiple places to showcase. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon, but check the posted museum times, they're only open for a short window for now.

Snap! is hands down my favorite photography gallery. They rotate their shows on a regular basis which is great for frequent visitors like myself. I think I've been to almost every opening since 'Vintage Nouveau," their first show. Speaking of openings, Snap has proven themselves to have some of the best show openings in Orlando. Not only do they draw large crowds but they seem to attract diverse, eclectic and young people at each opening. What makes them even better is that they're always free! If you happen to make it in here during the day, their beautiful urban space makes for a great backdrop to take photos in, which I am guilty of obnoxiously doing every time I stop in because their diffused window lighting makes for great portraits LOL. Check this place out for their interesting photo exhibitions, fun exhibition openings or to rent their space out.

Wow! I am in love! Snap! Space is super cool. Located on 50 just before mills Snap! is a mid-size art gallery with plenty of open space and an adorable courtyard to boot. Be on the lookout when trying to get here because you might miss it. The all white building is sandwiched in-between two others and traffic can be a little hectic on this side of town. They appear to host a lot of events here showcasing local and renowned artists. This venue is exactly what you think it would be. Concrete white walls, open iron ceiling, cream flooring. It screams chic, trendy and sophisticated. You can either park on the side streets or in the parking lot behind the building. Tonight was their "Snap! After Dark featuring Lyft" event. Which included many vendors offering samples of their services or food/drinks, live music and even some photography. Tonight included a Sushi station, Vegetarian station, complimentary manicure station, and complimentary beer, wine, and tasty fruit drinks. The live performance by Palmer Reed was the highlight of my evening! BTW - Lyft is a super cool cab service operated via App. You download it, request a cab and a driver is on the way. You are provided with a picture of the cab and it's driver. When they pick you up you can sit in the front, charge your phone and choose your favorite music for the ride. Payment is made thru the app so don't worry about needing cash. I also liked one of the complimentary photo bracelets that were given out at the door. What a super cool idea (see picture :-D). Thanks Yelp for sending me to Snap! Space it was such a good way to end the work day and start the weekend. I will absolutely be back and be bringing friends.

Great space! In old cruises only building- amazing art! Featured local and international talent- multimedia. Curator on staff was very attentive and gave us a mini tour of some highlights in current exhibit. This kind of art venue is exactly what Orlando needs more of! Loved it!

A photography exhibit by Bronx artist Joe Conzo, vintage Hip Hop for the BC One pre-event.

My first time and how did I live so close and not know this existed? We came to Snap! Space for the Red Bull BC One opening night event that featured a Hip Hop photography exhibit by Joe Conzo from the Bronx. This location could not have been better with its eclectic, non-precocious exterior/interior that lent itself to the old school vibe of this event. There was plenty of room to move around and the white walls and ambient lighting enhanced the enjoyment of the photography and other pieces. Acoustics were good for the DJ'd event - not too loud so you could socialize. For an hour I felt like I was back in the City! The outdoor area was easily accessible had plenty of space for impromptu b-boy dancers to do their thing! I'm following Snap! Space now some don't miss out on any other cool events here. Tip: There are a few good restaurants right nearby to go have a bite or two and you can just cross the street through the back to walk over (Noodles and Rice, The Strand, etc.)

I've had the pleasure of attending a yoga event as well as a salsa event at The Balcony and both times I left wanting to figure out an event to host at this beautiful site. Though getting in to the building and up to the right floor is a bit of a process, the view that awaits is worth every head scratch. This is truly a Balcony, but much larger than you'd imagine. They've used the space for cocktail parties, seated dinners, weddings, fitness events, and I imagine a photo shoot or two. The space is available for rent, and I've made a point to take a tour (which you can schedule any time) to check it out when they didn't have an active event happening. The indoor space you'd walk thru for The Balcony is actually a marketing agency. I haven't been in several months, but it doesn't seem to provide a lot of weather backup space, so one thing to note. Then again, this place is so unique, you'll be convinced to cross your fingers and pray for clear skies!

4 Stars for location, location, location!…read more Eola House is a historic 1924 house-turned-rental space owned by the city, right by Lake Eola. It may seem like an odd sight in the middle of the park, but in fact it used to exist in a line of historic homes that were taken down for the park expansion. Now it sits alone, right off of the walking path surrounding the Lake. The home is lovely and features a sunroom, living room, parlor, outdoor terrace, upstairs area with a balcony, bridal changing room, and more. Recently I went for a lunch meeting in their upstairs space, the Summerlin Room ($75/hr rental with a 2 hr min). It was a lovely spot and fit our group of fifteen perfectly. I'll admit that I had been to the house once before to help with another event and the room wasn't set to the specifications agreed upon so we had to move and reset the chairs and tables right before the meeting. I remember the event organizer was quite annoyed... Hopefully it was a fluke! Side note- There is no elevator and the stairs are quite narrow. This is worth mentioning in case your event includes someone with mobility issues or who uses a wheelchair. As I was heading out I stopped in a room by the front and appreciated the array of pamphlets set up- ranging from history of the house to an Orlando biking map. There were also tourist pamphlets with the typical attractions (presumably for out of town guests of weddings of meetings). Overall, this is a beautiful meeting/event space that is priced reasonably and located in the heart of the city.

To come, you have to reserve a spot (1-2hours) so this alleviates overcrowding. During summer, the morning time until 10:30am is for 3 year olds and younger only. It's beautiful inside. The colors, aesthetic, layout. The play area is gated off. Everything is baby proofed. Two story play area with climbing, ball pit, low stimulation touch screen game, mini trampolines, and more. There's a small area specifically for infants. I climbed around the entire structure as well. There's at least one worker supervising and cleaning the play area. The cafe is outside of the play area, but very close where you can supervise your child. There are also 4 cameras so you can see your child even if they're inside of or behind a structure. There are 2 large companion restrooms with diaper pails, stairs for toddlers to reach the sink, & most everything is touch free. I really appreciated how clean everything was. Terra Play Center is located in Lake Nona, and while it's quite a drive from me, this is by far my favorite play center so far! You do need to book a reservation online in advance because the time slots do sell out everyday, and they do not accept walk-ins if they are at capacity. I love that you can book 2 hours for $20 which is a great deal and the perfect amount of play time. Entry includes up to 3 caregiver passes at no extra charge. Adults are required to wear socks at all times and kids must wear the grippy Terra Play Socks ($3.99). Once you purchase them the first time, you can continue to wear them for future visits. Upon walking in, I was amazed by the sheer size of the play area and it's beautiful unique design. My son was just in awe. They have so many little nooks to explore, including a dedicated area for crawlers which we really appreciated during our first visit as my son was not quite walking yet. It was also not overly crowded which was a relief. He loved the climbing blocks, swing, ball pits, and trampolines. I was most impressed by how clean and well maintained the facility was. You will see staff continuously cleaning and wiping down surfaces the entire time that you are there. I even watched them remove every single ball from the ball pit in between play sessions to wash & sanitize. I know that germs can be a big concern for many parents when it comes to these play places, but seeing this definitely gave me peace of mind. They also have a stunning cafe area to order coffee & snacks, as well as seating to either relax or get some work done (where you can still keep an eye on your kiddos while they play). I highly recommend this spot and we will definitely be back!
