Art work outside of the event space
    Sheeka B.

2017's Yelp 100 Challenge 20/100 Came here for an event I saw on Yelp to celebrate African American art in pop culture and the media. It's located in little Saigon (what I call it, I'm new here lol), & it has ample parking in Snap! designated areas on a side street, it was a great use of space to showcase these beautiful portraits and I especially enjoyed the fact that there was enough room for two areas to serve drinks in the front and back. My only gripe is the entrance area. As this building hosts several other businesses, there are two entrance doors that aren't clearly marked with in or out, so you could be entering as someone is exiting and vice versa. Other than that, there was great music, beautiful art, and I met some really nice people. I plan to visit this space again for other events in the future!

Wow- what an amazing use of a beautiful, iconic Orlando building! Snap! Space is a neighborhood gallery in Mills50 that showcases fantastic local, national, and international photographers' work. This space used to be the Cameo Theatre in the 1920s and a few architects from Process Architecture (local firm) have helped restore the building's facade. The inside of the old theater is a huge, wide 1st floor with half painted and half rough walls and a fantastic, long outdoor space bordered by tall white walls. As you climb the stairs to the second floor you will see a window to the outdoor space (a great opportunity to peek out and for a shameless selfie). The opening show, Vintage Nouveau, is a beautifully curated photography show. It gives you an insight as to the aesthetic vision of Patrick Kahn (of Snap!, Orlando's huge annual art installation show) and makes you feel incredibly excited for shows to come. Everyone in Orlando needs to take an afternoon to check out this fantastic Orlando building and surprising gallery!

Snap!Orlando All about Warhol was yet another fabulous event put together by Snap! I loved everything about it from the Marilyn Monroe famous photo to the differents photos of Andy Warhol. This event took place in the gorgeous Orlando Museum of art and like I said before it was fabulous. The events are usually free but Snap!does accept donations. In addition to their location on Colonial drive at the old Cameo theater, Snap! Orlando is having events during the month of May throughout central Florida. In all honesty Snap! Orlando events are always fun and a great way to discover artists. I encourage people in Orlando and Central Florida to attend one of their events, you will certainly not be disappointed.

Beautiful beautiful art museum. Located in the same shopping center as Lineage Coffee and Lazy Moon Pizza, my little hipster heart is singing with joy at an all photography gallery only steps away. Their opening night parties are the place to be. A DJ spins music, people gather in small lounges, artist interaction, craft cocktails and small bites for patrons. Feel like an elite member of society even if your Chuck's have the sole blown out. Visiting hours during the week are very limited and short, but the entire gallery is FREE! The artists work changes every few months giving you plenty of reasons to come back. The place is sparkling clean with bright white walls contrasting each photo and everything is well lit. You can see each photo piece in ideal conditions. There are art books in a small lounge to peruse and many of their galleries extend throughout Orlando giving artists multiple places to showcase. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon, but check the posted museum times, they're only open for a short window for now.

Snap! is hands down my favorite photography gallery. They rotate their shows on a regular basis which is great for frequent visitors like myself. I think I've been to almost every opening since 'Vintage Nouveau," their first show. Speaking of openings, Snap has proven themselves to have some of the best show openings in Orlando. Not only do they draw large crowds but they seem to attract diverse, eclectic and young people at each opening. What makes them even better is that they're always free! If you happen to make it in here during the day, their beautiful urban space makes for a great backdrop to take photos in, which I am guilty of obnoxiously doing every time I stop in because their diffused window lighting makes for great portraits LOL. Check this place out for their interesting photo exhibitions, fun exhibition openings or to rent their space out.

Wow! I am in love! Snap! Space is super cool. Located on 50 just before mills Snap! is a mid-size art gallery with plenty of open space and an adorable courtyard to boot. Be on the lookout when trying to get here because you might miss it. The all white building is sandwiched in-between two others and traffic can be a little hectic on this side of town. They appear to host a lot of events here showcasing local and renowned artists. This venue is exactly what you think it would be. Concrete white walls, open iron ceiling, cream flooring. It screams chic, trendy and sophisticated. You can either park on the side streets or in the parking lot behind the building. Tonight was their "Snap! After Dark featuring Lyft" event. Which included many vendors offering samples of their services or food/drinks, live music and even some photography. Tonight included a Sushi station, Vegetarian station, complimentary manicure station, and complimentary beer, wine, and tasty fruit drinks. The live performance by Palmer Reed was the highlight of my evening! BTW - Lyft is a super cool cab service operated via App. You download it, request a cab and a driver is on the way. You are provided with a picture of the cab and it's driver. When they pick you up you can sit in the front, charge your phone and choose your favorite music for the ride. Payment is made thru the app so don't worry about needing cash. I also liked one of the complimentary photo bracelets that were given out at the door. What a super cool idea (see picture :-D). Thanks Yelp for sending me to Snap! Space it was such a good way to end the work day and start the weekend. I will absolutely be back and be bringing friends.

Great space! In old cruises only building- amazing art! Featured local and international talent- multimedia. Curator on staff was very attentive and gave us a mini tour of some highlights in current exhibit. This kind of art venue is exactly what Orlando needs more of! Loved it!

A photography exhibit by Bronx artist Joe Conzo, vintage Hip Hop for the BC One pre-event.

My first time and how did I live so close and not know this existed? We came to Snap! Space for the Red Bull BC One opening night event that featured a Hip Hop photography exhibit by Joe Conzo from the Bronx. This location could not have been better with its eclectic, non-precocious exterior/interior that lent itself to the old school vibe of this event. There was plenty of room to move around and the white walls and ambient lighting enhanced the enjoyment of the photography and other pieces. Acoustics were good for the DJ'd event - not too loud so you could socialize. For an hour I felt like I was back in the City! The outdoor area was easily accessible had plenty of space for impromptu b-boy dancers to do their thing! I'm following Snap! Space now some don't miss out on any other cool events here. Tip: There are a few good restaurants right nearby to go have a bite or two and you can just cross the street through the back to walk over (Noodles and Rice, The Strand, etc.)

Lorn and I had been to this venue for the Yelpie awards and decided to return as we were impressed with the artwork the first time we came. Third Thursdays is a free event each month and it displays the works of various artists. Also, if you park at the Plaza parking lot on Court Avenue just a few blocks away, your parking ticket is validated, and you only pay $4. We got there around 6:30pm and the place was already packed. We got a drink at the cafe and a shout out to Miles for being a fun server and a good conversationist. We then proceeded to see all the art displays from photography to paintings to ink drawings. The main floor is much roomier as the second floor was quite crowded and tight given the separate rooms for the displays. But we still enjoyed ourselves and got to see the work of Lorn's friend, Grace Garvey, as well as other artists. The second floor's main room was dedicated to "Black & White" artist renderings and many of the displays were quite intriguing. The main floor had some excellent concert photographs that exuded the energy and passion of the performers as well as the crowds. This is definitely a fun free event to attend in downtown Orlando.

They had a great selection of art, including art by teens and it is FREE so what a great value. We've decided we'd like to go every so often to keep up with the displays.

Snap! is such a wonderful local gem that everyone should know about! The owners, Patrick & Holly…read moreKahn, have brought something truly special to Orlando and they so work hard to bring this city some incredible photography exhibits. Some people might find this place tricky to find. Snap! is located on the first floor of the Camden Thornton Park Apartments. You actually enter through the leasing office for the apartment building, and the gallery is located just to the left as soon as you walk in. Their hours are 11am-6pm and they are closed on Sundays. Plenty of metered street parking is available in the surrounding area. Currently on view in the main gallery is the work of Martin Stranka (through Oct. 2, 2021) -- prepare to be fully immersed in all its beauty. As a lover of both florals and photography, Martin Stranka's exhibit truly speaks to my soul. The image of the car with the flowers pouring out of it... omg, I need it hanging in my house stat! There are two other smaller galleries located down the hall that feature some other local artists as well. You should definitely make an effort to check out one of their exhibition opening parties, which are free to attend. There's always great music, drinks, and a nice crowd of Orlandoans who love to support the local arts.

For those of you who don't want to assume, it is being literal. This is an evening full of nude art, music, body painting, and shows. This national art exhibit has been happening for the last 15 years which surprised me that there was no Yelp reviews on it yet for the Orlando area. I am a huge art enthusiast and love attending exhibits like these because they are never disappointing. This Venue, which use to be Haos on Church was very large, and had a wonderful selection of drinks, and even served food. Menu was small but all the options looked and smelt amazing. The portions are also small so recommend eating before arriving. Needless to say I fell in love with so many pieces of art, and naturally I bought something. Oh yes, most of the art is on sale. It all goes to an art charity which is used to promote art. Highly recommend attending for all art enthusiasts, and even if you're not really into art it's still a great time.

I'm sorry to say I was deeply disappointed. There was some very nice art, price was double what it would likely be elsewhere. I imagine a percentage goes to the event. I felt bad for the artists. There was not a bit of live entertainment that was well done or creative, nothing I hadn't seen years ago. The $40 ticket was crazy based on what they presented or shall I say lacked to present. There was some art I would have bought if it was price realistically. I would not go back to the Orlando event again I might try St Pete. It was an underwhelming money maker for the production company, lackluster for the guests. If I were to guess I would say they can't get high quality performance because they're not wanting to pay the performers or performers don't want to be attached to an event that is not of their caliber.

Tip: If you don't come across a deal such as we did, it seems like they offer discounts code from their Facebook website, so check that out! On Easel Expression's website, there is a calendar of which art piece each class will teach and you're able to reserve the one you want. On some days they have 2 sessions - one in the afternoon and one in the evening. We chosen a evening one to attend with our group of 6 and they were easily able to accommodate us. In addition to our group, there were two other classmate that joined the class. The store is bright and inviting as you walk in and the girls there including the instructor was sarcastic yet fun and also very encouraging. Tables are pre set with a blank canvas and brushes on the table with a bowl of water to clean for your brushes. There is a table against the wall with a 'ingredients list' of the number of pumps you'll need of each color that is lined up in huge jugs. "2 pumps of blue, 3 pumps of black, 2 pumps of white..." Very easy to follow. We all also got to wear cute canvas aprons to look the part! The art of the night was 'Hoot Hoot' and it was the painting of an owl. The instructor said 3 hours long! However our group completed the mission in 2.5! Score! She was very patient and taught us tricks on how to blend to make the owl more lively. Also you can add your special touches to your own painting (i added smiley faces to my shoot stars! :)) This would be an awesome place for birthday parties for kids, date night, and for groups too! One thing I was unsure about, was gratuity. There was no tip jar and it seems like the store was the instructor so I'm not sure if thats why there was none. Maybe someone could elaborate on a future review. I would totally do it again!

We had a Living Social deal about to expire so my husband and I ended up doing a class here…read morerecently. It was packed to the gills which I wonder if it was because of the deal. Thankful we arrived a little early so we could get our pick of seats. (Tip- Don't sit in front of the table with paint or you will be scooting back and forth all night to accomodate people) It's located off Orange Avenue in a small little plaza of businesses next to Full Circle Yoga. If lot is full, you may have to park off street. As noted on our confirmation(we picked our painting and booked online), they urged us to arrive 10-15 early . Check in was simply letting them know our names and then we were free to pick our seating. The studio did all of the work for the painters. Art canvases were set up and already painted the background color for the painting(dark blue to miror a dark sky) and plates of paint were set up under each canvas along with brushes and a bowl of water to dip brushes. They don't sell alcohol but DO allow guests to bring their own bottles for a $5 corkage fee. They do sell soda and water as well as bags of chips. So I would recommend eating beforehand because you will be here approximately 3 hours. The actual class instruction was good. Our instructor was very on top of staying on schedule so that we didn't run late. This kind of instruction may not be best for everyone especially if you are new to these kinds of classes. She would try to give guests a few minutes to catch up but would move on. But obviously you work at your own pace. Unlike other painting classes I have been to, the instructor was the only one that could help and give suggestions. She walked around occasionally to check on paintings but she was definitely stretched thin especially with such a big class. The painting was all free hand for everyone so we all had to draw exactly what she would draw on her canvas. I'm pretty amazed how well our paintings turned out. I loved the music playing- some 2Cellos but all current hits but classical style. Very relaxing. At the end, they did a drawing for those who checked in on FB and/or liked their page and gave away a free class. This was probably one of the better painting classes I have been to. Would definitely checkout again with friends.
