I intentionally stopped by to get the buffet 'to go' around 11:45 because I 'assumed' everything would be fresh for the lunch rush. That was not the case. Nothing and I mean nothing was fresh, the vegetables in the items such as beef with broccoli, beef was 'old tasting' and the broccoli had lost all color (meaning it was most likely old and reheated), there should be some sort of bright green color and a slight crunch. It was as if they just reheated from days ago. The only thing I liked was the sweet and sour sauce but that was handed to me from a shelf behind the counter, not sure how long it had been sitting. The 'buffet to go' cost me over $18.00, very disappointed. I do not recommend spending almost $20 for a meal there, obviously they are cutting corners and just throwing crap food out. The FM area has a fair number of Chinese restaurants, but this one knocks it out of the park. Since covid, ALL restaurants are short staffed, wait times vary and quality can be unpredictable, with that said, we have had great experiences here time and time again. It's clean and the quality just can't seem to be beat. The owners David (from Taiwan) and Kathlene (from FM area) are friendly, and the staff always have a smile. They are hiring high school and college students (as well as non-students) so pass it along. read more

This place is awesome! The food has a homemade, well-crafted feel to it, and the servers are very good. It's a good place to come with family or friends. We ordered nearly $80 of menu items for a party the following night. Ordered. Paid for and scheduled for pick-up at 5PM the next day. All was fine until I received the order under my wife's name. The worker tried to charge me again ("what the hell?") and when I asked for and paid $8 for an add-on of 8 almond cookies, I was given fortune cookies in a tied bag! We had supper here last evening and do not plan on returning. The number of selections was limited, but they were good. One exception was that they did not trim the ends off the green beans. I stopped here for lunch around 1. The reviews I found on google and yelp rated this place a little high in my opinion. The buffet is small and most things are empty when I arrived and were never filled. The restaurant wasn't busy and so I was surprised to find a lack of food options. But then again maybe it's because the lack of patrons maybe they limit what they put out. Either way there wasn't a lot of options and the items that were there really were not all that fresh. There was something wrong with one of the buffet heating elements and light fixture and I overheard they had to order parts to fix it. That may have also played a factor. This has to the worst experience I had at a buffet in a while. Little selection and what they had was almost gone. I had to wait for a half hour for them to refill the buffet. Even with that they were slow. The staff that works here seem to only care that they are getting paid and that is it. If you are in the Fargo moorhead area, it would be better to go to any other restaurant or buffet than this supposed buffet. I am so glad I found this place! They have amazing customer service. Our waitress was so attentive and went above and beyond to make us happy. The restaurant is very clean. Despite it being a buffet and that it was busy the food was kept warm and fresh with new batches coming out. The chow mein, dumplings and spring rolls were my favorite, they were delicious-highly recommend. Definitely will be coming back as it has become our favorite Chinese food in the F-M area. read more

Disappointed - highly rated in community *Disclaimer: I eat chicken but no other meat, several chicken dishes 1-2 maybe vegetarian. No. Tofu dishes on buffet maybe? If I asked. I don't know if they have Tofu/Bean Curd. We stopped by for their lunch buffet, around 1:15,near end of lunch buffet. There were servers, and 1 other patron - difficult to get attention for beverage refills etc. Many trays on buffet barely had anything in them! I asked them to put out fresh Sesame Chicken and LoMein, they did within 7-10 minutes! The LoMein was tasteless but salty, no veggies. The sesame chicken was FABULOUS on the buffet! Other chicken dishes were ok. My spouse said other neat items were "just ok" Ok salad bar with jello and tapioca pudding. Nice surprise is that soft serve ice cream machine! If you are in the Fargo/Moorhead area and want THE BEST Chinese buffet in town, Snap Dragon is the tops! Incredibly, friendly staff and owners. They have a great range of hot food, fried food, cold fruit, salad and shrimp, as well as changing (soft serve) ice cream flavors. Another thing that Snap Dragon offers is a selection of hot teas, not just oolong. The big reason I give Snap Dragon such a high rating, is that a majority of their hot food items are made IN HOUSE! Show me a successful Chinese/Cantonese buffet that isn't just fried food and cheap food from a wok that is as successful as this wonderful place. The only downside is that they have 2 hot food tables and one cold, but the selection of food available is good enough to keep many people coming back! read more

I went in while they were somewhat busy the food was either overcooked and dried out or had been sitting there too long but it was bad and I do not recommend it. I also had problems as I had to fetch my own silverware and napkins because the waitress who dropped the water off at my table that didn't have any ice in it didn't bring the basics. I've had good food here in the past but it seems like they have really slipped and I would no longer recommend this restaurant. Our family has been coming here since Snap Dragon opened. It is the most consistently decent Chinese Food Buffet in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The owner is very attentive to his customers and clearly cares about the quality of food he puts out. The main cook has been here since Snap Dragon opened nearly 11 years ago. Their buffet wasn't the largest, but that's a good thing, because the dishes that were being served were all of solid quality, and not the deep-fried junk you find at most Chinese buffets. I was recommended Snap Dragon Asian Buffet from a coworker- it was supposed to be ''better than all the other buffets in Fargo/Moorhead''. Thinking that the couple of hours they are closed in the afternoon meant that the food would be particularly fresh, we decided to give it a try. We realize that it's hard to find authentic Chinese in this area of the country, especially since we are used to the food on the West Coast, but we heard good things and came in full of optimism. Unfortunately, the food was absolutely terrible. There really isn't any other way to describe it. I didn't know it was possible for every dish in an entire restaurant to be completely bland, floury, and tasteless- everything. From the lo mein noodles, to general tso's chicken, to the egg rolls, to the pepper beef, to even the green beans that a previous reviewer was raving about- it was like swallowing soggy paper. To make things even better, it wasn't even warm. Everything was cold, everything was flavorless, everything was strangely chewy, and there wasn't really any point to having labels on the food at all because it was ALL THE SAME. (Also, as a side note, we were not aware that chicken nuggets were a traditional Chinese dish, but maybe we missed that day in history class.) The only thing moderately edible was the sweet and sour chicken, and that only because we avoided the (very old) sauce and got the chicken itself right as it was placed on the buffet line; even then it was cold by the time we got it back to our table. The most disappointing dish was probably the lo mein; we have had stale lo mein, over-salted lo mein, yesterday's reheated lo mein, undercooked lo mein, and spaghetti noodles disguised as lo mein--none of them have been anywhere near as soggy and sad as this was. We could go on in detail about every dish we had, but you get the picture. At the end we tried the ice cream, which came from one of those machines with the lever...instantly after it fell into the dish it started to melt into this white-ish watery substance. Apparently it is even possible to ruin ice cream. In short, we do not intend to come back. Definitely not recommended. read more

I brought my family there tonight and was incredibly disappointed as the quality and variety of food has really changed from my previous experiences there. It seems they have more processed foods, it just didn't taste the same as it used to. This is our favorite place to eat in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Since the first time in the area a little over 2 years ago, this has been our go-to place. No other place has come even close to the quality, flavor or value for the food you are getting. Very rarely have we encountered dry or sub-par food in this buffet, and that is a rare attribute with any buffet in general. When we have found these conditions, it was on days that the owner was not around. Again- very rare to go in and find that the owner is not actually working here, which is a wonderful thing to see in the restaurant business. The servers that have been with this restaurant the longest are great- they are friendly, and quick to fill your drinks for you- We have had small problems, but it was always with new servers. It was never really anything that would really affect us- because it was usually that they undercharged our table. Usually when that happens, they didn't add the kids, or didn't ask for our kids age. This is something we've pointed out on a couple of different occasions, but other than that, we have not really had any issues. I think this particular owner does a good job at weeding out the servers that don't make the cut pretty quickly. Which is great.. Nobody likes rude, obnoxious or inept servers. Highly recommended, and a very family friendly environment. We absolutely love this place, and always bring our friends or family here when we have visitors. read more

Ordered general Tso's, orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken fried rice and were lo mein for takeout last night. It was ready when we arrived to pick it up. There was a slight mistake in our order which I called and everyone I spoke with on the phone was very nice. Not only did they deliver my missing item they brought an appetizer for the inconvenience.
