We are elated with the new flooring that Red Mountain installed!!…read more We chose Karndean Luxury Vinyl Planking (LVP). We first shopped at Lowes, Home Depot and the local discount flooring retailers. While their product was 1/2 the cost of Red Mountain the installation was much more. This was because we were replacing carpeting and tile (almost 1000 sq ft). They float the flooring which means demo of tile. Also since we had 32 feet (from kitchen, to dining and family rooms), a transition is required in the middle of rooms which was a show stopper. We went with Red Mountain because: 1) The Karndean LVP we chose looks like real wood flooring. The planks are varying widths. We chose option of having thin black strips to further accentuate the planks (see pictures). 2) They removed our old carpeting and installed OSB to bring the floor to the same level as our old tile. 3) No tile demo was needed. A substrate was applied over the tile and OSB 4) For a small additional cost, we got a custom medallion in the entry way. Customer Service - This is a family run business. Jody & Michelle manage the store and Travis & Kelsey do the installation. They all are professional and just nice folks to do business with. Travis and Kelsey arrived on time, worked quickly, moved all our furniture, minimized any inconvenience by working in sections and did a spectacular job. We are not associated with Red Mountain in any way just very satisfied customers. When we replace the rest of our carpet, we will not hesitate to use Red Mountain again.

They gave a date when they would start, and they actually almost made the date - had to delay one week due to a significant snowstorm (and they informed us of the delay early - i.e. when the storm occurred). We've had work done many times, and meeting a committed start time is not that common. Given how great the deck went, we asked them to also build a pergola for us on the cement patio. They were extremely busy at this point, but as a previous customer, they fit us into their schedule. Again, fantastic job and we've enjoyed both for months at this point. Highly recommended!

The two ladies at the front desk are less than helpful. I initially went in and asked for a room…read morethat was 18 feet by 15 feet (the actual room is about 17x14 so I added extra just in case). They told me they had to have the installer come measure so it would be accurate. Which I had to wait a week for him to come measure. I had to call multiple times to get on the schedule to get my carpet installed. One of the times I called, I was told she was doing payroll and would call me back. I was told multiple times that she would call back and never did. It was over a week after I had paid for the carpet before I finally got to talk to the person to get on the schedule. Then I had to wait another week to get it done. The people to install the carpet showed up and were not told what they actually had to do so they didn't have the tools to pull up the laminate that was there. Luckily we had the tools for them to do that. Then they didn't even have the size that we needed. The professional that came to measure put 12x18 with a fill of 2'6"x18. Well, they obviously don't know what they are doing there because they only sent and charged for a 12x18 piece. So then, we end up having to pay for an entire other roll of carpet because they don't cut rolls. So we had to pay another $315. So the food price was negated by that. It was no Longer a good value. The two that installed the carpet did a great job. That was the only redeeming factor of the whole thing. I probably should have just had them leave because I am going to always have negative feelings about the carpet in the room. I don't understand how "professionals" can't do their job. They should have just let me order the 18x15 piece because obviously I know what I am doing more than they do. I would not recommend them. We still have to finish our basement and wanted to have the same flooring but we will not be using this company again. I will be going somewhere else and highly recommend you do the same if you want carpet.

We also supplied some materials out of pocket. When it became clear we couldn't complete the remaining work within his requested timeline, we communicated that directly and told him he should bring in another crew so we wouldn't hold up his project. We then requested payment only for the work we had already completed and materials we supplied. Unfortunately, payment for the completed work became a dispute. Our crew still had payroll and expenses associated with the work that was performed, regardless of whether we completed the entire project. If you're a subcontractor considering working with Jeremy, make sure you have a very clear, detailed contract before starting. Spell out exactly what is and isn't included in your price, and require written change orders for any additional work. In our experience, additional items were added to the scope without additional funds being agreed upon. Document everything--scope of work, changes, additional requests, materials, hours, and payment terms. Based on my experience, I would not work with him again.
