Food is really good. The waitress we had ruined the experience. We ordered drinks and said we needed a minute to look at the menu. Our drinks arrived, without the waters we had also asked for. The waitress goes, "has it been a minute?" I said if she could please bring the waters we would be ready by then for sure. She stopped and talked to a table for about 5 or so minutes, glancing back at us. When we ordered, she didn't write it down... When she brought the food, it wasn't correct.... They made their money in drinks, because by the time we actually got what we ordered, we had plenty to drink. On the plus side, the leftovers are really good. read more

If you're looking for a place to hold a dinner event, this is it! They were great to work with...very flexible and accommodating. The room rate was very reasonable and the room is spacious and private. The food was delicious, set up buffet style in warmers for us to serve ourselves when we were ready. We had chicken, BBQ meat, rice pilaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and rolls. There was a big screen TV in the room that we used to hook up a laptop and guest WIFI was available for our use. Snake River Grill is definitely not vegetarian nirvana. But any restaurant that has a Vegan selection at all in a town of less than 1,000 people is definitely going to get a special shout out from me. I had bow tie pasta marinara. I didn't ask for anything special to go with it, and they don't have a "vegetarian" option for that dish on the menu. But when it came out, it was loaded with fresh, nicely sauteed zucchini, asparagus tips, mushrooms, soy beans and other veggies, even capers. The salad bar is small, but everything on it was fresh, and the cucumbers were especially fresh and crisp. No Vegan-friendly dressing per se, but they do have oil and red wine vinegar, which is just fine with me. My husband had a fish platter, which included fresh panko breaded mahi mahi that he says was excellent, and my son's PB&J was made with this nice, thick fresh bread. Yummy! It is a bit pricey, about what you would expect for a restaurant in a small town that caters to tourists, but it was worth it. I would definitely go back. read more

Have eaten here several times with people who love it and choose to travel 40 miles from Twin Falls just to eat here. I have never had anything special. The food is average and bland. This was the first time we have eaten at this restaurant. We decided to take a little weekend mini vacation out of town, we heard that this restaurant served alligator and sturgeon! What an amazing treat. The server was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy and the food was delicious. My husband and I have never had alligator so we were totally stoked to try it! It was wonderful. However, neither one of us care for breading, it hides flavor. So we took the breading off it was delish. The sturgeon was fantastic! We haven't had sturgeon in years. I had the steak and sturgeon plate. The steak was an extremely tender cut. My husband had the full rack of ribs and he said they were great. Service was slow at best. The waitress didn't know half the menu or how to pronounce some of the dishes. Our friend ordered a ribeye steak medium rare and it came out charred past well done. My stergion was over cooked and dry. The baked potatoes, that we were told finished cooking 15 minutes before we arrived, were dry and looked like they had been reheated a couple times. We normally love this place, however we went here for our anniversary yesterday and had a terrible experience. The waitress spent untold minutes at each of her tables, except ours; she would look at us as she walked by to other tables. We ordered sodas and were wondering where they were 20 minutes later. We then overheard her telling her other tables that they were out of glasses.... she never told us. Our drinks finally came 30 minutes after they were ordered, and after people who arrived after us got their drinks. It took another 30 minutes to get our food, again after people that came in after us got their food. The food was OK, but not up to the standards of past visits. The service was terrible; there were 2 separate occasions where we didn't speak our waitress for 20 minutes, while watching her spend time at every other table she had. We had heard lots of good things about this restaurant from the locals. My two sister, and nephew took myself and my husband there for our birthdays. We had heard of the exotic meats on the menu to include crocodile, ostrich, and even Yak. I am an adventurous eater and was excited to try some of the delicacies. We entered the restaurant and seated ourselves as directed by the sign at the door. We must have been seated at least fifteen minuets before we were acknowledged. We were given an extensive menu, and it all looked very appetizing. In fact we had a hard time deciding. We decided to share a somewhat exotic appetizer which consisted of calamari, sturgeon, and catfish. We also ordered our drinks at this time. It took forever to get our drinks. We finally placed our order. the waitress was not very helpful in directing us to any specialties. When asked she would always say, "yes, they do a good job with that one." She only discouraged me from ordering the pork chop served on top of mac and cheese. she informed me that the mac and cheese looked dry. I decided to play it safe and ordered the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes. My partner ordered the "hand breaded "chicken strips with tator tots.My older sister and nephew each ordered the chicken fried steak, and my other sister ordered the "hand breaded" finger steaks. We all opted for salad bars. Before I give you the details on the entrees let me go back to the appetizer. The assorted fish platter was horrible and all looked like a deep fried in distinguishable mess. There was no creativity to the plating what so ever. The waitress pointed out that the long pieces were sturgeon, and that the "odd shaped" pieces were the catfish and the other "things" were calamari. The calamari was thick rubbery greasy and lacking any flavor what so ever, except the taste of the rancid oil it was cooked in. The sturgeon was at least edible and tasted a lot like frozen fish sticks. The catfish was muddy tasting and very mushy. If anyone has eaten catfish, you will know that this is a sign of old, not fresh and most likely frozen catfish. We next proceeded to the salad bar. The salad bar was small and quite basic. The one saving grace was the carrot salad which had pineapple and coconut. The salad bar also included the dried out pre-buttered french bread and store bought dinner rolls. There again at least the salad in a bag lettuce was edible. along with the bottled salad dressings. Next came the entrees. Which I might add came out one by one by one. My steak which I ordered medium came out more medium rare, I did get mashed potatoes, which were plain, I had to ask for gravy. I was given the option or brown or white. Know I understand why they did not specify beef gravy. The brown gravy was just that flavorless and brown. The steak had been rubbed with an indistinguishable spice rub. it did not complement the meat at all. My partner got his so called hand breaded chicken strips and tatot tots. The chicken was flat greasy and dry. the tots were cold with no seasoning. it was apparent that both had come out of a box. My younger sisters finger steaks, were little burn pieces of breaded meat, with a strange flavor. Again, these had to have come straight from the freezer to the deep fryer. Now last but not least , the chicken fried steaks. My nephew summed it up. He said, "Uncle Joe, this tastes like waffles!" he was right. The gravy had an unmistakable maple syrup sweet taste. It was all poured on top of the once again freezer to deep fryer processed meat patty. This was still one of the best birthday dinners I have ever had. It was so so bad it was funny. We are all still laughing about it a month later. It is even more hilarious, since the restaurant ended up featured in Sunset magazine!!!!! read more

We stumbled upon this place about 20 minutes before closing on a Saturday night. Our waitress Lisa was not in the least disturbed by our late arrival. She was friendly, fast, and helpful. She allowed me to try some of the local wines before ordering. I had the cod and fries. It was fresh and delicious! The salad bar was also fresh even that close to closing and had a lot of options. My husband had a hamburger and reported that was also delicious. Overall wonderful service and excellent food. I thought it was reasonably priced. We will be returning! Went for an early dinner with a large group of adults and kids, tired from swimming at 1000 Springs. We were seated comfortably. Drinks were provided quickly for the kids, (because the only way to be successful in a restaurant with kids is to get them their food and drinks asap). The menu is extensive for fried stuff, burgers, and fish. Lots of yummy options. The food was great and we were all satisfied. Finished off the meal with apple dumplings with whiskey caramel sauce, and they were fantastic. Definitely will be back! read more

My husband and I were visiting Hagerman for the weekend and, after reading reviews decided to give this place a try. Granted, we really only had two restraunts to choose from and it came down to The Snake River Grill having two-tenths of a point over the other option. I'm glad we did! We're from Boise so we're used to some spectacular offerings but for a small town this place did a wonderful job. I was hoping to try the prime rib but it had sold out by 5:30! Oh well, I settled on the sirloin and prawn special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Perfect!! The prawns were just a tiny bit overcooked but not enough to ruin they're lovely flavor. My husband ordered the chicken pasta alfredo special. He said it was delicious and particularly noted the bacon being nicely cooked before being added to the dish so it maintained some of the crispy texture. He didn't leave a bit in the bowl. The dining room is super low-key, nothing fancy here and I think we came in after the rush. Our server, Tessa was sweet and friendly. She even helped us with choosing desert when they were also out of the Peanutbutter Pie, our original choice, and she boxed them up nicely for us to take home. I expect they will be just as delicious as our meal.If we find ourselves paying another visit to this quaint little town in the future I'll be looking forward to another satisfying meal! read more

We sat down and were given our waters...we waited about 10 minutes before we were asked what drinks we wanted. When our waitress brought out our drinks, she let us know that they were slow because of the two different parties that were going on. We appreciated her letting us know because we did notice that the service was a little slow. We ordered our appetizers, alligator nuggets and red crab as artichoke dip. We got up and got our salad as we waited for our appetizers. About 10 minutes later our appetizers came out. The dip was great, the alligator nuggets were over cooked but not enough to really complain about. Our food arrived and looked pretty good. I ordered the chicken imperial with veggies, a great dish. Our friend ordered the pasta of the day, it was a little soupy but not too bad. My husband ordered the prime rib, most expensive meat on the menu-$23, with a side of sturgeon. We noticed that it was a little over cooked but whatever. He slathered on his horseradish sauce and took a bite. The sauce was a little mild for him. I gave him a bite of my chicken and veggies, which were wonderful, and our neighbor gave him a bite of her chicken, tasted pretty good except for the soupy pasta. He took a bite of the sturgeon, it was very flavorful. Back to the prime rib..it was cold...not warm, cold. When our waitress came back, my husband mentioned to her that it was cold. He then said that she could touch it to confirm it because he couldn't eat anymore. She felt it and confirmed that it was indeed cold, not even lukewarm. She removed our plates and offered us dessert to compensate for the prime rib. We declined. Prime rib was $23 and he only ate a couple of bites. She brought the receipt and said that she took off 10% because of the prime rib. We asked to speak to the manager...our waitress came back, she was the owner. She argued with my husband that he had eaten more than half the steak and that's why she only gave 10% off. He only had 2 bites...she then threw our card down on the table, yanked the receipt off the table and screamed at us "fine I'll take 50% off!" and stormed into the kitchen. My husband followed and yelled back. He left to cool down when another waitress came out and started writing down our license plate. Then started telling that he needed to pay. He told her that he was paying but that he needed to step away so that he could cool off..she then started yelling at him. I told her to just take the card in and pay for it, she said that she had called the police and they could handle it. Needless to say, we got an additional $10 off...we will not be going back and heaven help those that complain about their food. read more

Went for the alligator on the menu and it was all very good. I'm not generally a fan but my companion is, this was cooked just right and quite noteworthy. Service was also outstanding, a very attentive waiter who was knowledgeable about the menu and making suggestions for food and drink. The salad bar was also fully stocked and everything was fresh, including fresh rolls and garlic toast. Ok first off our service was awesome and the waitstaff is super nice. Now on to the 2 star experience...the "Ranch Steak". I ordered what was listed on the menu as a 1LB. Ranch Steak which is a delicious whole muscle meaty steak. What they brought me was a 16 oz. ground meat patty that was a burger without the bun at best. I don't know who built that menu but they obviously have no concept of USDA meat cuts let alone what a "steak" is.
