My son attended the Concord Rd. KinderCare from 2016-2019. We only left this location because we were moving out-of-state. Their Pre-K education program is fantastic! My son knows all his ABCs, counts to 100, can do simple math, knows his states on a map, and so much more. When we moved to Ohio, the preschool here was very impressed with how much my son knew. They were blown away when he picked out states on the map! The teachers at this location are so kind and make the children's education their number one priority. I'm so grateful for the time they took to help my son learn. The director is amazing. I was going through a custody dispute and she made it her priority to work with the corporate office to ensure my son's safety, and that he would continue to have an uninterrupted learning environment. This center doesnt even deserve a star. But here is our story... I enrolled my baby into this center when she was a newborn. The newborn room was perfect! We had no health issues or any other concerns. Once my baby went into the Toddler room. Thats when the horror story began... Once my daughter began her care in this room. All types of health issues arised. ( I am fully aware babies catch several common colds through out the year. However, my baby contracted the "common" Hand Foot & Mouth disease, Double eye infection, TWO double ear infections within a 3 month period, and was sick every other week. My child was sick so much. I had to do what was best for her and take her out weeks at a time. Once I enrolled her back my baby got sick again within 3-days. At this point, I expressed my concerns to the Director Ms. Tameka. She made excuses for my child sickness. She stated she pays additional money to have the rooms cleaned & sanitized. She stated she does not know how my child caught Hand Foot and Mouth. I advised her would she atleast notify other parents that my child has contracted this HIGHLY contagious virus. She stated "No, It is not policy to notify parents. Unless 3 or more kids has contracted this virus.." Well that did not sit well with me. The last incident, I got a call from a TEACHER that my daughter was scratched (twice within a week). The second time it broke her skin. Thats when I raised a concern. When I picked up my daughter. The teacher asked me did they tell me what actually happen. I stated" No?? What happened?" She stated " Well, this child (she pointed to the child) took a toy from her and your daughter tried to grab it back. At this moment the child then grabbed my daughters face. Which caused this deep scratch. I went immediately to the Director. Which stated " Kids will be kids" I told her " Well, thats the same as a child bulling another child but kids will be kids?!" I saw RED. I needed to cool down. I went back in to have continue this conversation. In summary, she stated that she sent this child home. If you are reading, she contradicted from what the teacher stated. The child was still in the center. Stated from the teacher ...she showed me the child who harmed my kid. WHICH ONE IS IT?! She stated the teacher does not know the babies and she is young. (Not sure how that makes her unaware of what happened.. but ok). Ms. Tameka stated my child is quiet and the 1 year olds are "CLICKING" up and trying to gang up on my 1 YEAR OLD. I am baffeled. There was to many stories involving my daughter. This was my last straw!! At this time I just unerolled my child entirely. I needed to rethink her care because this setting was not fitting for MY child. I also want to note. All of my immediate family contracted COVID-19 in Aug/July. As well as my daughter who was exposed to this virus. We made the decision to not test her due to me and her father being positive and her secondary baby sitter being positive. We also co-sleep/ breastfeed. I advised the center my daughter was exposed and was showing symptoms ( which we thought was the common cold/and or allergies). My daughter showed symptoms first a week before we started showing syptoms. So I wanted to tell Tameka because she would have exposed the other children. Well according to "POLICY" she could not notify other parents unless she was tested positive. ( I understand) However, I do not agree with this policy considering we are in a pandemic. I would want to know if my child was exposed IMMEDIATELY once this information was brought to attention. Enough bad news! Heres good news! We now have our baby girl in a new daycare facility. Which is amazing. It has been 2 weeks! She loves it, very stimulating and a new building! She has not been sick since!!! :) I hope this helps a family who are very cautious of their babies health and awareness. Please think hard. I know we have to choose care that is not the best of the best. But I would think twice.... read more

Omg, how has this place not been rated yet? Alright, well, I'll be the first. And I've had several months to think about this. I was biased when I enrolled my 11-month old here in early 2016. Biased because I, myself, attended a KinderCare from 1st until about 5th grade (don't tell anybody that I was going there in 5th grade- the snacks were ALL THAT, though!) So, when we enrolled my then 11-month old in early 2016, I was pretty sure that we were doing a good thing. Man, was I wrong. They allowed us to observe the teachers, watch them at snack time and lunchtime. Everyone was on their best behavior... the teachers, that is. I thought it looked great, so we enrolled baby! Let's just say that after a month or so, I noticed a new teacher in my baby's class every few weeks or so. I asked about it and the director volunteered the information that she could not keep anyone in the toddler class for too long. She even made an exasperated face when she said it, eyeroll and all. This was the first sign that this place wasn't quite stable in that toddler room. The second sign would be that he cried every single day that we dropped him off... but I thought it was just him not wanting to separate. I understand that babies play and they play hard, but my child came home with two DEEP wounds on his face. It happened on two different days, and I don't care about an incident report. What type of fall caused a wound so deep that he still has the scar to this day? After seeing the classroom in disarray on MANY occasions, I certainly have trouble believing that those very deep scratches only came from a fall. The teachers seemed very overwhelmed in his classroom. The kids were always spread out all over the classroom. For example, one child would be near the exit door. Another child is in the "kitchen" area. Another child is behind the diaper changing area. And the teacher is on the opposite side near the door where the parents enter. It was always chaotic and I never saw the kids "learning" or sitting down or even in one space together. They were always everywhere. At any point, if you stand outside of the toddler door, you can hear the teachers inside yelling. I couldn't believe it. Even after I opened the door and came in, the yelling continued. It was not at my child, but I still gave the teacher, who was a heavyset dark-skinned lady, the evil eye. Motherf... how are you yelling at someone's CHILD? A toddler, at that?? In order to work at most daycares, you need a CDA. What CDA class teaches that constant yelling is okay? That pissed me off. I spoke with the director, who pretty much blew it off. She nodded and kept shuffling through paperwork before hurriedly saying she'd address it. The straw that broke the hump in the damn camel's back was when I walked in one day and saw one of the teachers going OFF about the heavyset, dark-skinned teacher not properly managing the toddler class. That teacher's child happened to be in the toddler classroom, as well. I tried to open the door to baby's class, and a table was behind the door, preventing parents from entering or anyone from leaving. When I pushed the table aside and walked in, my child was standing on top of a table and the room was in disarray/chaos. The teacher's response to me looking at my son was, "See, mom? Haha. I told you he's rambunctious!" ... I wasn't smiling. I walked my ass to the front desk and waited for the temporary director to stop laughing and jollying around before I asked her to step aside to tell her about what I'd just seen. She spoke over me as I spoke until I stopped, smiled, took a deep breath and asked, "May I speak?" That was baby's last day there- literally. This KinderCare has a lot of young, unprofessional impatient women working here. It's extremely disorganized and not worth the headache. My son now goes to a smaller mom/pop daycare closer to home, and he LOVES IT. Not even kidding, the crying at drop-off stopped at this new daycare. I can walk in at any given moment and the older teachers are so much more loving, gentle and patient with the kids. This KinderCare was AWFUL. I guess all KinderCares aren't like the one I remember. I took my daughter to this location today for a few hours to see if it was a good fit for drop-in care. The director seems kind, competent, and conscientious and wanted to make sure we/she had a good experience. She had a good time and met some new friends. We decided that drop-in care was not the best fit for our needs due to the age range in the class (5-12). I am grateful that they were open to letting us try it out - and all they did today on our behalf! read more

I had my 2 children at KinderCare on Concord road for 2 years and in the final 6 months of their time there, the facility went down hill quickly and I could not wait for the slot at their new (and current) facility to open up so I could move them out. The 'teacher' turnover rate is very high. I had a new teacher in my toddler's room almost every week and my bright and happy and preschooler's class was so over run with ill mannered kids that he digressed into a sad a non-participatory child. Months went by without a single project in his folder. Either the teacher wasn't having the kids do projects or she offered no encouragement for him to try. The facility is old, yes. But that wouldn't be a big deal if they took better care of it. Drive by - you'll see the toys for the little kids just sitting out in a mess outside 24/7. That's an easy indication that they don't take the time to clean or keep things orderly. We are now at Primrose and it's taken 3 months of teacher's hard work to break my now pre-k child out of his shell. My toddler - now a preschooler is thriving, too. As a parent I feel BEYOND comfortable leaving my kids here with the staff. The teachers here they are wonderful, this is my kids first time in daycare and my 2 year old is now speaking in sentences, he now loves to read and enjoys to attend daycare here. The center Director and front staff, they are amazing my son makes sure he stops by the office everyday just to tell them see you later. I could have not choose a better daycare than this one. I would not recommend this Child Care environment for any Educated, Career Oriented, family of Morals. The majority of the Teachers employed at this facility with the exception of the Pre-K Certified Teachers are NOT educated, and do not provide education...they do nothing more than Babysit. My children have been at this facility for almost a year, and have not advanced academically at all...in fact it's quite possible they have digressed. The Management staff are ridiculous, and treat the parents as if they are children themselves. The facility is dirty, and my kids are constantly being sent home dehydrated and dirty. They charge an extra monthly fee for classes such as "Hip Hop" without ever confirming with the parents that they want their kids to participate in such a class, why not teach Self Defense...especially since my Daughter has been hit on several occasions by the same student who still continues to attend the center with no ramifications. My suggestion, if you are looking for an ACADEMIC environment that teaches your children Ethics, Morals, in addition to curriculum...don't choose KinderCare Smyrna. We will be removing our children ASAP. read more

I came here from Florida to attend Paul Mitchell School of Atlanta. I saw that there were multiple KinderCare's in the area that I am staying so I went to a couple. This one seemed the best deal for the location diversity and the price so I booked a tour. I was late for my tour due to looking at other daycares also. When I got there noone greeted me or said anything. I sat there for about 20 mins until I finally was irrated enough to say something. The director Annita was very rude but the teachers in his classroom 2 years old room were very friendly and seemed nice so I tried to overlook the director. The next day I went in again with my sister-in-law and son and again noone said anything. This time my sister-in-law finally asked very politely why there weren't being acknowledged and she apologized. She quickly told me the mom to come in her office and told his aunt she had to stay in the waiting room very sarcastically. I hadn't looked for other daycare's because I thought I had found the one for him. When she went to bring us back to the classroom my child went to grab a door and she said snarlingly, "You need to keep walking" right there I was on my way out but she quickly redeemed it by saying, "your room is down here". When I went to pick him up I got a bag with his pants that I was assuming he got wet or something because they were in a plastic bag. To my very unhappy surprise, I that they had taken his poopy pants and put them in the bag without even rinsing them off. read more
