DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE!!! My son has came with knots…read moreon head and scratches on his face and arms. When we ask what happened to him no one knows what happened. There was no incident reported to us or documented at the daycare. This not the first time this has happened but the 3rd time so my concern about my son safety has became a major issue. He has came home with full diapers as if he had not been changed in hours and missing clothes and I know that some stuff like this will happen. But when I spoke to the director of the daycare she first told me that she would do whatever it took to fix it. Now that my son has been injured again and they cant tell me how it happened she decided to kick my son out of the daycare. All we wanted was a expiation of what happened to our child but no one seems to have a answer. IF YOU WANT YOURCHILD TO BE IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT THEN I WOULD CHOOSE SOMEPLACE ELSE.

Ms. Sylvia, Ms. Lovelyn, Ms. Mariah, and Ms. Ciara do a fantastic job. As well as the entire staff who work together in the day to day running of the facility. He doesn't want to leave some days. Especially when he is writing his letters and numbers. I find the school is very informative and does their best to keep parents involved. We did have an incident in which my child slipped on the playground. I was informed immediately and all protocol was followed to a T. In fact, they took proper measures to insure safety on the playground and do not go outside if it is too wet or use another playground. They have been working effortlessly to upgrade the facility. I have another child who goes to Pre K next year, and I would definitely send her there. They are very caring and pay attention to the needs of every student. I would love to see the facility receive funding to update everything. It is a clean. I do hope they are able to do more to update the facility. These teachers do a fantastic job and deserve to be acknowledged for their effort and hard work for our children.

After moving to this part of Atlanta recently, I was amazed at the cost/waitlist/class size of many daycares in the area. I "interviewed" several places and was starting to question whether or not I was going to find a place that I felt comfortable taking my kids to everyday. The Goddard School Austell is the same place my niece and nephew went 8 years ago and without question is the best! Mrs. Lauren was immediately warm and welcoming inviting us in to see this "family feel" preschool. She is always open for conversation, empathetic, real, transparent and a parent herself. She employs a staff that also models those qualities. If we have ever had a concern about our children (potty training, bottle weaning, tantrums etc)... they are all there to assist, work with us and ultimately foster love, patience, knowledge and kindness in our babies! They have a curriculum that is followed and emailed monthly. Daily reports are sent out over a phone app making it easy to check in on the kids each day. Healthy breakfasts and catered (healthy) lunches are provided each day, along with snacks in between. They have nice playgrounds that the kids love playing on when it is nice outside and a large open gym to run around in when it is raining or too cold to be outside, with a built in rock climbing wall, what?! Along with the day-to-day activities, they are always doing special things around the holidays for the kids/parents (Christmas program, Easter egg hunt, Valentines, etc). I honestly could go on and on about all the ways The Goddard School Austell is a phenomenal daycare... but most importantly, I don't have to question what type of care my little ones are getting. I know in my absence they are being loved, nurtured, comforted and allowed to grow, learn and explore in a warm and caring environment...every day. I will not take them anywhere else and will be very sad when they have to leave. Thank you all at Goddard Austell!

One day, I saw a teacher spray water toward my child's face with a spray bottle. I understood that spray bottles may have been used outside to help cool children off in the summer, but what I saw concerned me enough that I asked administration for a meeting to better understand the policy and whether spray bottles were ever used for anything other than cooling off. When I spoke with Lauren, I did not feel my concern was received well. The conversation focused more on my wording and whether I was accusing the school of abuse than on giving me clarity about what I had seen. I left the conversation feeling that my concern as a parent had been met defensively rather than constructively. Because of that interaction, we withdrew our child that day. I had a positive impression of some parts of Goddard overall, but based on my experience with this specific location, I would not personally recommend it.

I kept her home due to the pandemic for a few months but she was bored and it was challenging working from home and give her the attention she deserves so she came back recently. This kid comes home telling me she loves her friends & her teacher daily. She comes home with artwork every week. I also get photos in the app from the school on a daily of her doing her arts & crafts. We also get updates when they eat, are changed & notified of nap times. I also sent my older children to the summer program and they had a blast. They were 12, 6 & 5 at the time. Field trips were always great! My kids still ask to come with me to say hi to teachers & are happy to see everyone. Mrs. J runs a tight ship & has made some very wonderful updates as the years have passed. As a single mother that is trying to further her career, I feel comfortable being able to leave my kids in good hands while I do so. I appreciate Mrs. J & her staff more then they know & would recommend people try it out before they make their minds up.
