She's now in Kindergarten at Cheatham Hill one of the better schools in the area, and she received a solid foundation at Sheltering Arms for them to build upon. I really enjoyed this place overall. While no place is perfect, I highly recommend it for a number of reasons (see my initial review and this one). Let's start off with COVID and how they handled it: My baby never came home sick, in fact, I've never seen a lot of sniffles with the kids in general in all the time my granddaughter has been attending this school, starting at infancy. Unfortunately, that is not the case at many other daycares. During COVID and after they implemented a special sign in system. They recorded the child's temperature and each parent dropping off was required to wear a mask. They also only allowed some many people in the lobby waiting to sign in the kids. While it was not the fastest process, my grandbaby never came home sick. They were very responsive and meticulous about notifying me when there was potential exposure. When they said that they sanitized the rooms, I felt it was true because the "proof is in the pudding." I said it in my first review, but I'll reiterate, if you are a new parent, esp a single parent (father or mother) starting out.... THIS is the place for you. It is safe, clean, offers scholarships year-round, conscientious, and integrated with other programs geared to help low-to-middle income families, such as iThink Financial came through this year, offering no-fee checking accounts for parents and custodial savings accounts for the kids, plus $50 in the checking acct just for opening it. Plus they provided school supplies and bookbags and a $35 gift card to pre-K students. There were also programs for free or low-cost kid's activities, free/low-cost healthcare access days, food programs, and a host of other things to help struggling families. Let's face it.... daycare is extremely expensive no matter what income bracket you fit in, especially when you factor in the days daycare is closed and you still need to work and your support system isn't all that supportive. So, now, you're paying for daycare and additional outside daycare on those days. It can get pricey real quick. I have to also speak to the family atmosphere and low turnover of staff. Some of the staff there were there when my grandbaby was in pre-K were there when she was an infant. Same with the kids. There were other kids that were there from the beginning as well. The families are nice. No ridiculous melee in the small parking lot. Parents are respectful of the other parents and staff, even with the slow check-in process, which is BIG. I've been to other daycares and saw lots of behavior. Everyone is just nice. The parking lot and grounds are well maintained, I just cannot say enough good things about this place. Now, on to the individuals.... Some opted to leave this year and work at other SA locations.... Ms. Angela, Ms. Lariesha, Ms. Cheryl, Ms. Gail, Ms. Valerie.... all of these ladies, I interacted with daily and they were all just the best. They really seem to like and care about your children. I couldn't be happier that my grandbaby had an opportunity to learn under these women. I will miss them all. Ms. Valerie was her teacher this year..... My grandbaby has a really good foundation in phonics and sounding words out on her own. She got that from Ms. Valerie. She drilled the days of the week, the alphabet, handwriting, colors of course, but she also worked with them on their interpersonal skills and behaviors in the classroom and outside of it. She would ask the kids thought-provoking questions that they would bring home and use to interact with the family. They were kids but she talked to them like people and they noticed the world around them. She gave them flowers to grow and be responsible for. They had a butterfly in the classroom that they caught outside. They discussed the different stages and she didn't cut corners or make up cute names.... she had my baby coming home talking about chrysalis like it was no big deal. So funny coming out of such a small face and mouth, but I appreciated every minute of it. Really top notch.... if I had to say one bad thing, it'd be the closure days. They follow the regular school calendar. For parents who must go in to the office for work or don't have a good support system, this could be hard. Candidly, all of the pre-K programs in Cobb do that. So, that's not really a SA issue. If you are a family considering good childcare, let this be a serious contender. We used the Roberta Dr location, but I've spoken to parents who've used other locations, and they had similar experiences as I did. Overall I highly recommend this place. I hope this helps you.

The staff was so welcoming and caring and it really felt like each day we were taking him to our family member's home to be cared for. Our son has been at Oxford Babies for 2 years now and we've moved out of the area -- saying goodbye to this amazing team was hard for us and for them (lots of tears between us on the last day!) They really loved our son as we have. They have watched him grow, helped us through many of those crazy stages in the first few years, and have felt like a team of second moms to my husband and I. The Oxford Babies staff truly cares about each of the children there. We have watched our son grow tremendously under their care and I cannot say enough good things about them!

Being first time parents, we felt extremely comfortable leaving our little girl in the care of wonderful, sweet and compassionate teachers. We like the smaller ratio of teachers to babies versus other schools. The price was also a big plus compared to others in the area, like Primrose. Our daughter loves going to school every day and all of the teachers love on our daughter by teaching her everyday. We are so blessed to have found Oxford!

I'm told they give you a decision. No such thing happened. I left a couple messages via phone which they deliberately ignored till they ran out of funds 2 weeks later, they ignored me till I called back having the office clerk to hand them my message. Then they finally called me with lies. They said they were as of that morning out of funds....meaning 2 weeks ago they weren't. They were without excuse, hard hearted and strategically racist in not acknowledgement of my application. F is the grade I'd give them. They insist on offering you coffee or gas for your car...I kept telling her we don't have one. Smh. Run like the plague and don't go there if you're black unless you want a gas voucher.
