It took my installer a day of work to run each piece of tile with acetone to get off the marking. The countertop was installed 1" off, and the oven didn't fit, they had to come back to fix it. Then when they came back to fox their mistake, they uninstalled the plumbing in the sink while they were fixing it, but they didn't hook it back up. The cabinets arrived missing pieces, and two cabinets arrived damaged. The replacement cabinets arrived a whole month later, delaying the whole project. One of them came without a drawer, and the other came with one side not painted. I'm still waiting on the missing cabinet pieces. I asked for 5% off the countertops and cabinets because of the added time, the contractor/installer having more work and having to make extra trips to finish, and they wouldn't give it to me. Additionally, after spending $20k on cabinets, I've had a drawer break and multiple chips one year after using the kitchen. Additionally, the countertop that was ordered through ProSource was installed with the countertop company. They were supposed to install the sink after placing the countertop. The stuff fell out after a few months of use.

I can't tell you how many metal smiths and machine shops and forging companies we've contacted over the last three months. Cleveland Hardware was by far our very best experience during manufacturing conversations. Kevin Miller, the Engineering Manager, spent hours with me on the phone (if you add up our 4 or 5 conversations, lasting a minimum of 20 minutes each), discussing the project, understanding our manufacturing needs and requirements, and taking time to learn and understand the product. us, our goals, and our dream. A bar spoon is very different from the typical work they do (lots of hardware and intricate truck parts and other things - check out their website), but it shared some similarities as far as small parts and intricacies, and Kevin was excited about the opportunity to work on something new and creative and different. Most of the other manufacturers I contacted saw the challenge as a lot of undesirable work and a headache, and were happy to end negotiations with a curt email. Kevin really engaged with me on the project, even coming up with suggested design modifications based on his expertise. He even did independent research and emailed me links about bar spoons and the way they used to be made "back in the day" Long story shorter, Cleveland Hardware was my last chance to have this made in the USA, but due to factors beyond my control (e.g. no one wants to buy a $150 bar spoon, and that's what I'd have to charge to make it domestically), we're having to explore overseas options. Kevin will certainly be the first person I contact when I have a product that can be domestically made using their metal processes.

I had a customer come into the company that I work for looking for a latch for an old horse trailer…read morethat he bought. I contacted the name of the company that I found on the latch and spoke with a lady named Carola. From the very beginning she was very nice and so easy to deal with. She was able to help me figure out what I needed be me sending her a picture of the old latch the customer had. She informed me that it was no longer a latch they made, but they did have one and they were going to send it to me at no cost. They even went above and beyond and covered the shipping cost. I am very new to trailer parts, but I wish that every company that I called to order stuff from was this easy to do business with. I will be calling them again if I ever need any parts.
