My child and I had one of the worst nail salon experiences we've ever had. Ever since this salon…read morechanged management and its name, the quality has gone completely downhill. I had been a loyal customer for years when Nina owned the salon, but I will never return under the new management. From the moment I called to make an appointment, I should have take that as the first red flag. The female employee taking the call struggled to understand what I was saying, even after I repeated myself several times. She never even asked for my name before "scheduling" the appointment and told me she'd be doing my nails in replace of Nina. The male technician who sits at the front right of the salon at table #8 was extremely rough with both my child and me. While doing my child's nails, he made several of her fingers bleed and then aggressively pressed oil into the cuts instead of acknowledging what happened. She was in pain the entire time she said. When he did my fill, the experience only got worse. He repeatedly drilled and filed into my skin and underneath my nails, put his long fake finger nail into my cuticles multiple times breaking the acrylic from my skin, gripped my hands and fingers painfully tight, and constantly jerked and pulled my hands around. He also couldn't understand what I was asking for, which led to an argument with another employee before he literally yanked my hand away from her. By the time I left, my fingers, hands, nail beds, and even my joints were aching from how rough he had been. My child and I sat in the car afterward and cried. I've never left a nail appointment feeling scared, sore, and upset before. It was an awful experience, and we will never return or recommend this salon to anyone. If you choose to go here, I would strongly advise avoiding the male technician who sits at the front of the salon at table #8.

But I feel like she was just pulling her own strings and doing her own thing. She never asked me what color I would like my case to be and ended up using a builder gel already tinted pink (very NOT natural) so I had to work with that as my base color whether I liked it or not. Everytime I asked "am I ably to file my nails shorter, or make it less boxy, she would just look at me, look at my nails, and then start speaking to her coworker. I feel like if she asked me questions along the process rather doing her own thing; I wouldn't have to voice myself so much :( I'm not from the area & needed my nails done desperately but I definitely won't be coming back. Had to go somewhere else to get them more natural/less thick/fix the shape.

We spent a good part of the day together and she was pleasant and fun to talk to. We laughed and told each other stories and I can honestly say she made the time pass so easily. She did a stunning job with my color. She was detailed and meticulous, the colors she chose were exactly perfect, she recommended something that would fit with the amount of time and effort I have to give to my hair routine and I literally could not be happier. She is very patient and thorough with her haircuts ensuring I am satisfied with the length and style before I leave, which I greatly appreciate. I even began taking my toddler to get his hair trimmed as he takes after me and has naturally curly hair. I was worried about the experience as a whole because he is only 1.5 years old and not the best at sitting still but Christen was incredible. She was so patient and kind. She had lollipops to distract him (which was a huge plus, lol). When he would get overwhelmed she just stopped and would talk to him letting him get calm again and then went back to the cut. She even talked him through what she was doing which I thought was so kind. I highly recommend Christen! She is a very kind and caring person. I feel as though I'm visiting with a good friend when I go to get my haircut. The vibes of the shop are fun and carefree and I appreciate the little toy table and activities provided for the little clientele.

We were able to watch tv while we waited. The product retail area below the tv was also very nice and well organized. I loved the curio cabinet with the vintage barbering and styling implements. You can tell that the aesthetic of the shop had a lot of thought put into it. It's not like that everywhere you go and I was impressed. We didn't have to wait long at all before she was ready to cut his hair. He brought a photo in with him of what he wanted and Christen was very thorough in her consultation and making sure they were on the same page in regards to the haircut. She also has excellent technical abilities and is clearly very skilled. His haircut looked great and was exactly what he wanted. We look forward to being regular clients!
