I have gone to Panache since I was 17! I have always used Jimmy Benitez and he is the best! I have gone to other stylists over the years because of random circumstances, but have ALWAYS always come back to him. Here are my favorite reasons why I love Jimmy: 1. He does an amazing job on my hair. He gives me what I want. I have received compliments on my hair color many times even over the past week and I attribute that to him. Sometimes I even want to book him just to style my hair because he always does it better than I can myself. 2. This is sooo important to me: he is efficient. I have thick hair and it can potentially take a long time to do my hair. He NEVER EVER books people in the middle of my sessions. I can't believe how many other stylists do this! I have even had other stylists at other salons talk on the phone while they were styling my hair, or talk about inappropriate topics, which I don't necessarily care about on a basic level, but it can extend the amount of time you're sitting in their chair. Jimmy is a professional. 3. He always works me in and he's never cancelled on me in 17 years (even though I've cancelled on him a few times). 4. He is the BEST with my little boys. I LOVE the way he does their hair. I think we figure out the other day that I may be one of his "oldest" clients. I appreciate him so much :) It asks what his price range is. I have no idea what other salons/stylists are charging, but it seems to be on the low end to me. I would certainly pay more! read more

As a former hairdresser, I know what a good highlight looks like. Today, I did not receive a good highlight. I asked for platinum, I got gold. Plus, he didn't go to the roots, so I already had new-growth leaving the salon. When I told him I thought it looked gold, he said "i don't think so," and left it at that. Sadly, I don't have the time or money to get it fixed before the holidays, so it is what it is. I already had to pay a babysitter to get this done. I won't be going back. read more

I was so nervous cuz as much as I needed a cut I did not want to go too short or short at all and somehow she worked some magic and gave me EXACTLY what I wanted! I will say though when I first walked into the salon I was looked at by another employee and she kinda just kept walking as if she thought I was lost which almost turned me away cuz like I said previously I was already nervous about my hair being butchered and I felt it was just rude, then she came up and almost reluctantly it seemed, asked if I had an appointment and with who... I've tried this salon off and on for the last 17 years. I have no complaint about the nails/cuts/massage services but this place is just totally lacking in customer service. I'll make an appointment, show up a little early (because it is rude to be late). After waiting for 5 minutes past my appointment time, I'll just go up to a random stylist and tell them I have an appointment. They are always minimally polite about finding whoever is performing my service BUT there I sit--15, 20, 30 minutes. The stylists seem to be actively avoiding eye contact with everyone in the waiting area. Twice, the stylist was running late. Once the gal wasn't even there--she had forgotten my appointment.,., The last time? The nail tech had moved to a different salon. So obviously, I don't fall into their demographic or my money isn't goods enough Which ever, I am done trying to make it work at Panache. Let me start by saying if I could rate a place a zero then I would. As a father of multiple children on the autism spectrum, I was shocked to hear about the incident that occurred today because my autistic 3 year old was too loud and patient's were complaining. The suggestion or direction from the staff was for my 15 year old daughter to take my son outside because he was too loud. This display of ignorance is the problem with society and shows just how uneducated people can be. I am sorry my son was stimming and too loud for your business. So let me educate you... He cannot control his stimming. He can be loud and jump around. Maybe you didn't notice the hands in front of his face frequently, the inability to talk, the lack of social skills....Maybe you should talk to the adult so you can be educated. My son did not choose to be born this way. Instead, he will be ridiculed and judged, because of uneducated ignorant people in your shop. My advice for anyone thinking about attending this place is to ensure you don't bring someone with special needs as they may be judged like my 3 year old autistic son was. Thank you for showing my other children, who were there and witnessed this, what it looks like to be discriminated against. My stylist is Jennie Hernandez. She's very good with color. Prices in general are high. But I don't trust a place like Super Cuts to highlight my locks! This is a full service salon. pedis, manis, body wraps and waxing. This salon staff has really gone down hill. When someone walks in your door without acknowledgment it's unwelcoming. To be left standing there waiting at the counter while multiple stylists are making eye contact with me is even more irritating. When I was acknowledged by a gal at the front who looked like she could give two shits , i asked for trim, the idiots look at each other one by one declining to help because they're too busy. I get that your busy but you could be a little more professional and take ownership and pride in your business instead of staring cluelessly at each other like morons. I went I as a walk in. No one greeted or asked if I needed help. I finally walked up to the girl next to the counter who offered to cut my hair in 1 hr. Came back to find I had been passed on to another stylist who was in a hurry to leave. Anyhow I'm sure she tried with the time being an issue, however my hair doesn't look any different than when I went in. Probably won't be going back. For those reading this out there , I know a lady named Monica at Rustic next to post office who does really awesome job for half the price. Made a same day appointment with the only stylist that was available at that time - Jimmy. I was very impressed by the friendliness of the admin staff and blown away by the talent of the stylist. Horrible service. Made hair appointment one week in advance for a Saturday and hair stylist forgot about it. As I waited in the seating area, she took another customer that walked in and when I asked she said "oh sorry. I forgot. I'll have time on Tuesday morning or I can ask around if someone has time." Of course everyone had their own clients and were booked. The receptionist had me wait another hour to try to find someone available that might come in but of course nothing after all that wait. Jimmy!! What can I say? He is a master artist at what he does! I call and made a same day appointment and went in couple hours later. He greeted me and answered all my questions and gave his realistic opinions on what I wanted to do with my hair color. I had dark hair and wanted to go many shades lighter, as I am Asian and my hair is stubborn to get lighter. Let me just say first that I am one of those people who will go a couple years without a cut, so it's kind of a retreat for me when I do take time to myself and get a haircut done. I had no idea what style I was going for or if anything was even possible with my dated cut. I did not grow up in the area, so these Yelp reviews take some of the guess work away. I took a chance, called and got scheduled with Jimmy, who worked wonders for my long, drab and stressed hair. I felt like a new person walking out of there. I walked into Panache this morning because they sell Aveda products and my prior hairdresser moved so I am looking for a new one. I stood in front of the products rack probably 5 to 7 minutes. Four operators in the shop. Not one looked up. Not one asked me if they could help me. I turned around and walked across the street to Posh where a young lady came out into the hallway the minute I opened the front door and asked f she could help me. She directed me to another operator who sells Aveda products and I was also able to make an appointment for a color and style. I went to Panache because I had heard good things about them and have frequented it in the past. But evidently, they no longer need new customers, so I would look elsewhere if I were you. I find it amusing that they advertise "walk-Ins welcome". You might be welcome, but you won't get any help. Try Posh. They seem very customer oriented, unlike Panache. read more

I have been going to Panache Salon for about 2 years and I feel that it is the best hair salon in and around the area of Hanford. I recommend asking for Sharon. She is very nice and is really good at customer service. Her prices are REASONABLE! She spends a lot of time on your hair, but it is worth it. When she shampoos your hair, she gives a very nice head massage which is WONDERFUL. It makes you feel soo relaxed. She gives good hair cuts and listens to what you want. I have been getting my haircut and my eyebrows waxes by Angel at Panache for at least 5 years. I now live on the East Coast, but I make sure to schedule an appointment with her everytime I get to come home for a holiday. Not only does she do an excellent job on my hair everytime i go, but she always comes to the rescue when I have to get my hair done somewhere else (between trips home) and they mess it up. She will spend as long as it takes to do it right, and she ALWAYS does her very best and never cuts corners when it comes to her clients. For awhile, when she was unavailable, I got my hair done at Panache with other stylists. I always got the best service, no matter who was doing my hair, and I always feel welcomed, valued and pampered when I go to Panache. My mother, the pickiest person alive, is also a loyal Panache customer, and she loves her hair everytime she goes. Lucio cuts and colors her hair. Added bonus: prices here are medium/high for Hanford, but compared to other cities I have lived in they are very low, especially considering the excellent quality of service I get here, which I have never found anywhere else in Hanford. read more

Jennifer Alvarado, (the owner) is absolutely wonderful - very knowledgeable,friendly and most importantly wants her clients leaving happy! She has cut, colored and done up-do's for me on numerous occassions over a 2 year period. Panache is a full service salon with mani/pedis, tanning booths, make-up artists, and hair dressers. The salon is beautiful and Jimmy is very good! I went a long time ago after reading yelp reviews. I live in Visalia and know a lot of hair people because I am in the industry as an esthetician and massge therapist and taught at a beauty school, but wanted to try something new where I didn't know anyone. I dont remember customer service being bad or good but reading current reviews, the owner sounds so sweet!!! I've had many bad services and no one ever offered a refund or anything even though we teach them to do that in school, peoples egos are too big usually. This tells me she actually cares about the clients. I had heavy low lights because I like to switch it up between dark and light hair. Jimmy picked a color that was fabulous and, though it didnt last as long as I'd like, it faded to where transitioning back to blonde was very easy which is what he told me he did intentionally because people with light hair actually have to do a lot of maitence to keep a deep brown and I didnt know if I could keep it up so it was the right choice. The only thing I remember that wasn't a 5 was the prices, while fair, especially for the quality, seemed slightly high for the valley and since I know so many people that do hair I see a huge spectrum of prices. That wont stop me from returning though, just more as a treat when I need to really look polished. read more

I'd first like to add I gave 1 Star because 0 stars was not an option..3 weeks ago I decided to get a cut, color and deep conditioning done. Unfortunately, that amazing just left the salon silky hair feeling didn't happen for me. My hair was left feeling gummy, I can barley run my hands through it without breakage. My hair is now dry and damaged. I was absolutely beyond upset, it took me almost two years of growing my natural hair out, just to have it destroyed by this place. When I called to complain about my service to a manager/ anyone in charge. I was left floored, when I was informed by the office receptionist that they were in NO WAY held responsible for the stylist, and all they were willing to do for me was pass my info on to the lady who did my hair( of course she never called me). Lastly before she hung up she asked if I'd like to have another stylist fix the damage done to my hair( damaged by there stylist), however I'd have to pay out of my own pocket to fix the damage (because they were not responsible for their stylist). This whole experience has been one of the most disgusting display of customer service, I've ever received. I'm going down to city hall today to file a complaint against this place, being that I found this place during a city ran function. They featured local businesses in the area, having you go shop to shop during a wine and chocolate event. read more

AVOID THIS SALON!!!!! My experience started when I made an appointment for my daughter to get her hair colored. She's a natural blond and had colored her hair black, but had been in the process of going back to blond. She had had her hair bleached three times (over 6 months) prior to going to Panache. We had just transferred to Hanford and she was a new client. Jennifer (the owner) did my daughter's color. For whatever reason, she did an all over color and changed her hair to brown. Jennifer didn't like the results the first time she colored it, and stayed late to redo the color. I appreciated that she stayed late and tipped her VERY well (40%). I also made an appointment to get my hair done two days later. I arrived at my appointment on time, and I was told that Jennifer was still with another client. I had a horrible kink in my neck and asked if the masseuse would be able to work on it while I waited. The receptionist said he was on his way in, and as soon as he arrived she'd ask... I sat in the waiting area for 45 minutes, no one said a single word to me the entire time! Just as I was getting ready to walk out, Jennifer came to get me... I've been getting my hair done for 20 years, and I have never had anyone touch up my roots by dabbing in between the foils... I could tell this was a lazy person's attempt to make up time and get back on track for the day. I asked again about the masseuse for my neck, and this time I was told that he just left for the day. hmmmm??? After removing the foils and washing my hair, Jennifer's disposition changed and she was really quiet. She put so much volume in my hair with the round brush that I felt ridiculous walking out to my car, but the color looked okay. By the weekend, my daughter's hair started breaking and falling out, and so did mine!! My daughter HAD long hair about three inches past her shoulders, by the time her hair finished breaking, it was two inches long throughout her entire head!! Since Jennifer only foiled some of my hair, I didn't lose as much as my daughter, but I have layers about 5 inches shorter on one side of my head when compared to the other. Jennifer KNEW she had over processed my hair, and instead of apologizing and giving me product to help repair the damage she blow dried it big and sent me on my way. There are several reasons not to go to this salon... lack of talent, poor customer service, and lack of ethics. You'd probably be better off at Supercuts!! read more

I am a cancer survivor so after growing my hair for 14 months, I made an appointment for a Thursday. First Brittany completely forgot my appointment ( apparently didn't write it in her book). Show up very excited to put my new do on all the breast cancer sites, and am told I don't have an appointment! Brittany callslater that night and says she can see me the Next day. I show up the Next day, I have already showed Brittany a picture of what I wanted and she said no problem. After shampooing my hair and talking to me she goes to get Michelle to cut my hair. By this time I am nervous! Michelle shows up says she can give me the cut I want, but she needs to thin the top. She proceeds to use texturing shears on the top of my head to such a degree that it damaged the hair so badly it was breaking off. When I complained I was told by both of these people that all I needed was styling product. By the time I left I was in tears ,my hair ruined. I went immediately to another salon. The hair was so damaged that all they could do to fix other was give me a pixie cut! My daughter went to Panache just to ask for them to apologize. Instead of apologizing the owner told her that cancer patients that have chemo have dementia so I probably didn't really understand what happened. These people are unqualified, rude and dishonest! Save your hair find a different salon. Horrible People. read more

Here's my original review, I've updated it below. My experience gets a 1, but my updated version a 5... The owner was great the stylist ...she's another story. Horrible customer service, rude Jax S. I went in to have my hair done in ombr but the stylist didnt think my hair was healthy enough to apply bleach. (Although before applying the color she saif it wasnt as bad as she thought, then again later on the phone told me my hair was damaged...im mixed race with a bit of kinky curly hair naturally...my hair has been this way always) So I told her burgundy with more purple. After she took all color off my hair she applied some color but It definitely wasn't what I asked for. It looked ok, but the root was a light brown/red and the bottom was a brown/reddish tone. Dark. Days later the roots were even more dramatically different from the rest of my hair. I rescheduled for the following week so the hair stylist could fix it but I was told she scheduled me in for an hour later. No biggie. Then she and the manager came over and were discussing products to use on my hair...most of which my hair stylist never used before. I was asked to reschedule yet again because my stylist didn't have the products she would need. Soon after I called the manager to tell her I didn't feel comfortable with the hair stylist doing my hair. (She did a good cut, just not good color) I was told I could have someone else do it but I'd have to repay again...even though I didn't get what I asked for in the first place. I was very cooperative and feel I still am being cooperative but this is completely unprofessional on their behalf. I asked if I could just have my money back for the hair color only... After days they decided to give me back the hair color money however it's been a week since, I've left messages for the manager, I'm told shell call back but no luck yet. I was supposed to get my money back yesterday but the hair stylist lied to me and said she was out of town until Monday... However, I called the salon before talking with her and they said she had just stepped out. I'm still out $150.00 now, plus an additional $85.00 to have this mess fixed... I took the advice of some fellow navy wives and went to artistic designs in lemoore and they fixed my hair up perfect! Exactly what I had asked for. December 31, 2012 ***update*** I felt it was fair to update my original review. Today I met with the owner and she was extremely helpful, sat with me and talked, which I really appreciated. I got my money back, and offered to return to a different stylist who could better help me. I am pleased with the outcome if this situation with the owner. The stylist was still extremely rude to me today, but to know the owner actually cared and sat with me, that just made me possibly reconsider going back to give them another try one day. The lesson learned here for me is to trust in referrals from friends and there are actually good managers out ther just sometimes hire terrible employees they don't even know are terrible until a situation arrives. You can tell a lot by the way a person handles their stress or in this case, a situation like I had. read more

I am new to the area and parking at this place is a concern. My appointments always go over 2 hours. I went in the day so I was constantly worried about having to either move my car or risk the ticket. Just an FYI. The place is decent and my stylist, Stacey, was nice. I will not be returning though because no one bothered to tell me that she does not take credit cards when I booked the appointment. She did not tell me either. Just happened to notice a tiny sign on her station once we had begun the appointment! I had to leave the salon and walk a few blocks away to pull over 200 dollars of cash out. Luckily I had the money but this is just an annoying issue that I don't need. This also added to my time in the salon, so I was even more concerned about a parking ticket. read more

Two stars simply because the environment was clean and seemed inviting.. at first. The rest of my experience was TERRIBLE and deserves no more than one star. Maybe if I had a different stylist it would have been okay. I went in for a ladies' shampoo and cut and as a new client went with the next available stylist, Stacy. She wasn't rude or impolite, but the ENTIRE appointment made me feel like just another head of hair, not even a person or a customer. She didn't consult me at all, didn't even attempt to make small talk or so much as introduce herself or even ask my name. She just asked if I wanted her to shampoo my hair or cut it dry. (???) She finally asked how I wanted to style it after washing (of course now it's already wet so she couldn't have seen at all my natural hair texture or how it was already styled..), but she asked nothing about my hair type, how I style it... NONE of the important facts it might be good to know before taking scissors to someone's hair. But having at least heard a tiny tidbit of what I was looking to do (trim off the dead, add in some layering and blend in my growing bangs for a pretty, feminine look) she proceeded to haphazardly hack at my hair for the shortest time I've ever spent in a chair. I've never had someone work so randomly, or while answering the phone to make other appointments. I left with the flattest, cheapest looking, one-length hairstyle I've ever had. No volume, none of the feminine layering or blending I wanted. It's clear she did not pay attention to what would be appropriate for my hair, my face shape, even my age or my directions. I look like a 15 year old girl with no styling and awkwardly grown out bangs. Salon pricing for a Fantastic Sams haircut. Oh, don't forget--no one mentioned when I scheduled the appointment or at any point while I was there that they don't accept any type of cards for payment--check or cash only. I found out because of a tacky little sign on the station. It's just lucky my husband was home to bring cash over. Who in this day DOESN'T accept card? I know very few people who carry cash at all! PLEASE don't waste your time with this place.. I now have to spend 2x as much money to hopefully find someone better to fix this awful, ugly mess. read more
