Fun ambiance, great service, and lots of healthy options. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I'll be back when I'm in Alamosa again.

RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING Minimal parking out front. LOCATION/AMBIANCE The restaurant's front looks like a cabin with a steep roof and a balcony above the entrance. Inside, there's a relatively small dining room with a couple of rickety booths where we sat - the waitress warned us. Restrooms were available. THE GRUB + Coffee ($2.50) + Orange juice + Lemon blueberry cake ($4) + Breakfast bowl ($12) + Burrito ($14) - this sucker was huge. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB No kids menu, but my kiddos had plenty of options. SERVICE Very amiable service from both our waitress and the owner. MY FAVORITE PART... My breakfast bowl with green Chile! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The booth seat kept sliding around. My kids were excited to go fishing. Lol. TIPS + Call for their hours before heading there. The owner was super nice on the phone. + They will let you taste the green Chile if you are hesitant about spicier foods.

I found the coffee to be decent and the sandwiches themselves were okay in terms of flavor, but the prices felt rather high for what we actually received. My main disappointment came after half a day of strenuous activities in the park when we finally opened the packaging to find teeny sandwiches with really small portion sizes. Even after eating them, we were still quite hungry, which was frustrating since we needed a filling meal to keep our energy up. While the quality of the food and drinks wasn't bad, the combination of high prices and tiny portions just didn't deliver the value we needed for a park day.

Loved how cute this shop was - it had so much character to enjoy. Thankful they opened so early at 7am so we were able to get some coffee. They had a great drink menu - from just coffee and espresso options to tea to blended drinks. Grabbed a Matcha and London Fog - not the best we've ever had, but still tasty and a good start to the morning. Also had nice breakfast options. Comfy seating options. We were able to grab a nice couch to sit and enjoy. They also had free Wi-fi and clean bathrooms. Street parking was easy to find. Overall, a good choice for your morning coffee!

When we arrived, however, the aroma of a barbecue restaurant across the street convinced us to eat there instead, so we stopped in here for drinks only. I ordered a flight of six craft beverages , and all were above average. My favorite was the blackberry cider, which stood out for its excellent flavor and balance. I also appreciated that the beers were locally crafted and that the brewery offered a seasonal selection of specialty brews. We arrived right when they opened at 11:00 a.m., so the atmosphere was quiet and uncrowded. While the service was adequate, it lacked enthusiasm and did not leave a lasting impression. On a positive note, both the taproom and restrooms were clean and well maintained. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend this brewery as a pleasant stop for a locally crafted drink. Fun fact: Alamosa, located in Colorado's San Luis Valley, is known for experiencing some of the coldest nighttime temperatures in the state due to it's location in the valley and unique geography.

We got the pretzel as an appetizer.... The pretzel was greasy and so was the cheese they gave with it. The cheese seemed frozen, then microwaved. It had a really dull/greasy taste and odd texture. The French dip was like rubber. And the au jus sauce was bland. For her the best part was the side salad. She even said her beer had an odd taste to it. My chicken sandwich had no flavor. The red potatoes where severly over cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. My drink (the house black cherry cream soda), was really good the first glass! Second glass was flat and very syrupy. The server briefly came by a couple times. He would quickly ask "everything ok?", as he rushed by. He wasn't horrible, but he wasn't great either. Overall we where very unimpressed. Not somewhere we'll be returning to. For the price, I had better expectations.

After reading the excellent reviews, we decided to have lunch there and save the brewery for drinks only. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who explained the daily lunch special: a pulled pork sandwich, fries, and a drink. It sounded like a great value, so we ordered two specials along with a serving of the banana pudding for dessert. The pulled pork sandwich was served without sauce, allowing us to customize it from several barbecue sauce options available at the self serve counter. The pork was flavorful and tender, the fries were crispy, and the banana pudding was a delicious finishing touch that definitely hit the spot. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the value of the lunch special. One thing to note is that a 3% fee is added for credit card purchases, and the restrooms are reserved for customers only. Overall, this was a fortunate and memorable find. The food was satisfying, the service was friendly, and the value was excellent. I would highly recommend Woody's Q Shack to anyone traveling through south-central Colorado and looking for authentic barbecue.

Grabbing the sauces is fun because it's like you're milking the sauces. Service is nice and prompt. I'd get the burnt ends here repeatedly but nothing else. The pulled port and brisket were mediocre. The brioche buns helped on the pulled pork sandwich, but it needed a lot of sauce. The fries were also mediocre. The loaded mac bowl was nuts. It was rich in flavor, but it was so packed and covered in cheese that it tasted like food coma in a bowl. I think it was good, but nothing I'd ever eat again.

We always order inside and never the drive through. The Cuban is (*WAS - keep reading) my all-time favorite and hubby switches up his order. I can certainly handle missing items on a sandwich straight off the menu - as in nothing added, nothing taken away. I can manage a longer-than-necessary wait time even when there's no other customers. What I *detest is an agreeable, pleasant person that couldn't muster enough thoughtfulness to follow through. How difficult is it to cut a sandwich, while standing in front of her? Our last visit went like this. Hubby went inside as usual to order, two sandwiches, nothing else. He knows I like my sandwich cut into thirds, especially when we eat while driving. Placing the order - a Big John and a Jimmy Cubano - he asked politely to have the Cubano cut into thirds. The gal graciously agreed. My husband noticed there were only two people working, no name tags, and the gentleman was busy doing other tasks. Sandwiches were made, paid for, my husband left. Simple, right? When he got to the truck, I opened mine, and seeing it wasn't cut, I asked. Hubby said she was behind some sort of cover while making the sandwiches. Of course I called. Little did I know at that moment that I was speaking to the order taker / sandwich maker, Nataly. The offender answered the phone, without offering her name. I thought to myself, why don't they share their name? Unprofessional. I told her we were just there to get lunch and may I ask some questions. Sure! Do you have sharp knives - she says yes. Are you allowed to use them, she says Um, yes. I was thinking that maybe the bread is made elsewhere and arrives pre-cut. She asks why? I patiently explained that my husband asked for my sandwich to be cut. Get this: Nataly said verbatim, "It has to be on the receipt for us to know to cut it." Really? I'm not even kidding. When someone is placing the order face to face, eye contact, and you agree? On the receipt? So, you charge for this? I hung up, infuriated. To the owner, IF you read this. Doesn't matter if young Nataly is terminated for immaturity, lack of training, lack of understanding, lack of common sense, etc. We certainly won't ever be back to see if you've made any improvements.
