Did an online order and didn't get my smoothie and wanted a refund. That was a week ago.

I walked into Smoothie King clearly overheated -- flushed cheeks, a little sweaty from sitting in a hot car with no AC -- and asked for a cup of water. The employee told me it would be $1 for the cup. Not bottled water. Not a smoothie. Just tap water -- and I was visibly struggling in the summer heat. What they didn't know is that I'm homeless, and while I may look "put together" because I take pride in my appearance, my clothes are from Goodwill. I don't always have money -- but that doesn't mean I don't deserve basic human decency, especially when I'm dehydrated and heat-exhausted. I said, "That's dumb," and sat down to cool off. I stand by it. If your "health-focused" business can't offer a struggling customer a cup of tap water without a transaction, you're not about wellness -- you're about profit. And your staff clearly doesn't know how to treat people with dignity. read more

Food and Quality is on par with other locations. However, waiting more than 40 minutes for 2 smoothies and bowl is beyond ridiculous. Obviously the staff is overwhelmed. I am assuming the bowl takes more time or is a pain to prepare while working on smoothies as well so it goes lower on their priority. However, why would you break up orders. It took 20 minutes for one smoothie. The next was ten minutes later and then the final bowl was another 10. The bathrooms have not been updated in at least a decade. Everything is manual: hand pump soap, self flush toilet, hold and cold taps on the sink, and regular paper towel dispenser that gives at least 7+ towels at a time so there is always waste. For a place that charges $9 for a fruit smoothie, you would expect things to be more on point. Especially in a post COVID world. At least the bathroom was clean. read more

I received an email yesterday that says "Order received, we're on it" at about 1:10pm, I didn't check my mail until about an hour later. Come to find out someone had hacked into my smoothie king account and ordered all the way in San Antonio- somewhere I have never lived and last time visited the city was over a year ago. I immediately call this location, a young man answered, I asked to speak with a manager. He explains no management on duty, he will take my name and phone number and hopes they would call me. Of course, no call back. At this point, I'm frustrated- FRUAD IS NOT OK. This is a serious matter that needs to dealt with professionally. Why is there NOT a manager on duty at all the times? Great service & delicious smoothies orders online are always ready when I get there waiting for me.

They now have a paper sign on the door that says "you must place your order through their app" I've seen every single person who's walked in... walk out in protest. I've asked 3 in a row what's going on because I hadn't gotten out of my car yet. They said they will not be downloading an app, and don't have with to mess with it. Pretty bad business decision if you ask me. I'm only writing this review because I have to wait 10 minutes for my smoothie to be made since I ordered from the app. 10 minutes!!! The app was easy to set up. But I can't figure out how to change the liquid base to ensure it's not milk. But it allows me under allergies to check "no dairy - I acknowledge I'm responsible for removing specific allergens from my order" okay... but how?! Way to put it back on me. Rather than letting me communicate with you what I need. No notes section. You're just stuck with a $11 shake that's probably not going to be made correctly. Geez. This is ridiculous. When looking this up on Yelp I found several alternatives I can go to next time. I won't be doing this again! Update... went inside. Asked why they went to app orders only. And a very flustered young man said they are understaffed and couldn't keep up with taking orders and making smoothies at the same time. There are two ppl working. So hire more ppl! read more

At first thought it was a new location problem seemed to balance out and they were doing better. 10 minute wait or less. This weekend has been a hot mess. My husband ordered online and over 1/2 hour later still not even close to be ready so he just left. Next day I went and they had signs up please be patient with staff we are having technical difficulties. They told me 15 minute wait. 30+ minutes still waiting. They have 3 people so maybe they need increase staff or if machines aren't working fix them. Go to Universal City or the other one off 1604. read more

Every single smoothie I ever order is late. I order 30 minutes early and show up 15 minutes after the time the app tells me they will be done and they are still not ready. I've been so frustrated I have just left and attempted to get a refund and there is no way to even do that. The staff inside claims they don't know how to issue refunds and the problem is never solved. As much as you want to go out and support local businesses there are times when you're on a damn time crunch aka forgot you had a meeting until Google alerted you and want to have something healthy. OR Perhaps you're at the gym adjacent here and instead of succumbing to your inner fat child cravings of fast food (there's like four right outside the gym, those A-holes) you run in here like it's the apocalypse to get something healthy before you wasted a workout. The customer service is great here and they're super friendly. I enjoy the late hours they have since I tend to workout later in the evening. I'm not a social person at the gym. My go-to smoothie is the Carrot Kale Dream in the 32oz. They offer a special 32oz smoothies on Friday so that's always a win! It's super filling and definitely holds me over. This place is trash. They literally close AT LEAST 15-20 minutes early all the time. Lights out. Zero fcks to give. Kid type behavior stuff. We get it you work for minimum wage and need to get out. This place is also the only location in San Antonio that won't let you call in orders 1 hour before closing. All other locations will. Hmmm. Suspect. Ordered a smoothie online so it would be ready to pick up on my way to work. I walked in, no one greeted me. A customer walks in, they take his order, makes his order, then asked if I needed help. I said I had ordered online, they said okay someone will make it in a min. 3 minutes go by and no one was making it. I left. I called to make sure they canceled my order. Current health inspection, completely gross!! Roaches crawling on counters, gnats around places where they make the shakes. The Health Department ordered them to remove dead roach carcasses and to clean and sanitize all floors as of last week. They will have another inspection in the near future. SO GROSS! I've never had a bad experience at Smoothie King. They have a wide array of options varying from different goals. (Fitness blends, slim blends, wellness blends and "take a break" blends). If you find the menu a little overwhelming at first, you can ask the staff for recommendations since they've never steered me in the wrong direction. This place was a four star up until a short while ago, but I've noticed a turnover in high school kids working and the place is taking a step back. New kids seem to care less than the other kids did. The last three times the behind the counter area has been dirty and disorganized, with juice and powder splashed everywhere and random hats and dirty utensils laying about. As of Nov 5 8:50, this place lost our business. I understand you close at 9pm. You could be busy cleaning, but it's unprofessional to ignore your customer. My boyfriend comes in to make an order and was continously ignored. Not sure what her name was. She had her back turned to the register ignored him. He had just walked in after a woman walked out. This can be seen on camera. Was he ignored on purpose? Or was she too busy, none the less this is unacceptable. I don't want to bring in discrimination, but clearly he was not served. read more

This is my second time to get the worse customer service. Two people that had multiple items got their smoothies before me. I was there literally ten minutes before I got my one 32 oz spinach lemon ginger smoothie. They tried to blend it literally four times until I said re-do it or something. This is ridiculous for me to wait this long. They apologize, but I was on a time restraint. I will drive the extra miles to go to the 410 and Broadway location. As they are very professional and make sure that the orders are done in order. I love smoothie king but this particular location has gone extremely downhill. The staff is very slow and does not seem interested in being there at all. The store has been DIRTY for the past couple months. I go weekly and the floor always has trash all over and it is not clean behind the counter where they make the smoothies either. Then came out a second time for a brief moment looked at me and went to the back again.
