I visited this store on a trip to San Antonio almost a year ago and was excited to find a bunch of protein bars / snacks that I had never seen before. Since then, I have moved to San Antonio and am a regular at this store. This location of Cost Plus Nutrition has very friendly staff (talk to Hank or Jacob) and they're always happy to help you find the product for your needs. They have a great selection of products and carry a good range of local specialty products to your usual bars like the Quest/ One Brands. My favorite thing about this store though is your ability to find a new/ tasty protein snack here- they're always finding things that are new to the market and that taste great (Alpha Prime Brownies, Legendary Tasty Cakes, Etc) before they become mainstream. Only issues with this store is that the company is smaller so they don't have a ton of inventory and are often sold out of the product you go in looking for and they have to order it. Also, they are sometimes a bit higher in price than other stores because they're small but they're always happy to understand where they can do better (I've never left dissatisfied). Went in to cost plus to purchase magnesium for my friend that I had bought before but needed to know the difference between two different sprays and employee was so knowledgeable and helpful . I also explained to him of some of the my other health issues and referred me to some other products that would really help! This is a highly comprehensive premium nutrition store that has products that work. Ernest was a wealth of information on the products they sell. They don't carry gimmicky/junk supplements here, so if ya want those, you can go to your local GNC and feel free to overpay for a product that "might" or flat out doesn't work. At Cost Plus Nutrition, since the products are vetted VERY well, if you are on the fence if a product will work for you, TRY IT, just save your receipt, they are a stand up company that will either refund you, or provide store credit. I am an Active Duty Soldier, and while they do not give a Military rate, anyone will be impressed by the reasonable prices. They also carry a lot of products that are compounded exclusively by them. There are so many vitamin shops now days, but this one has always gone above and beyond for me in service. I came in looking for some calming teas, and the gentleman here found me some and recommended a drink called Be Calm. Not only did he recommend it, but he prepared a sample for me. It's magnesium powder that can be instantly activated with warm water, and I felt the calming benefits almost instantly (took less than 30 minutes). Last time I came in they were out, but he showed me another one called Garden of Life Magnesium that works just as well. Another time, I came in for some amino acid pre-workout powder, and again the gentlemen took the time to prepare me some samples and even threw in a shaker bottle with my purchase of Amino Flow. This has helped me so much. Now when I work out, I hardly ever get the muscle aches the following day. I can tell the guys here are very passionate about helping the customers get the products that are best tailored to the individual client, as opposed to some places that seem to just be trying to make a certain quota. They don't push unneeded supplements like most do AND they let you sample things before you buy! It saves me from buying bad products I don't like. They are extremely intelligent and helpful with every product. Ernest is amazing! We cam in looking for a post workout recovery supplement and were met with friendly, knowledgeable staff who gave us some samples to try without even trying to sell us anything. My wife also noticed that they had several products she normally buys on Amazon for a much better price, so we ended up buying them, even though we were not there for those products. We weren't expecting much, and were pleasantly surprised. Happy to know we now have a go to nutrition/supplement place that's so close to home. Great job! read more

I am blown away by their customer service, knowledgable staff, and their genuine desire to understand and assist in meeting your nutritional goals. Usually I shy away from sales reps and prefer to do my own research on supplements, but Ernest sought to understand my lifestyle, workout and eating habits, and had recommendations targeted specifically to my needs. They have lots of products available including vitamin and herbal supplements, sports nutrition/performance enhancing supplements, essential oils, natural and organic products, and many others. I actually went in for a single product and walked out of there with several supplements, eager to try them and equipped with the wealth of knowledge Ernest provided on how they worked with my body. I shop all around town for my supplements and do lots of comparative shopping, and CPN has the best prices in town for their products or will price match competitors prices (local stores only, not online retailers). They have many great products and have try-before-you-buy samples available--which is nice before you drop $50 on a tub of protein powder only to discover it doesn't taste that great. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and needed a few types of vitamins/turmeric/supplements as suggested by my rheumatologist... Some things I'm not very familiar with. The gentleman was very busy with other customers but when he was free, he spent ample time explaining various natural routes. He offered me a sample of a protein shake (he was making them for customers) and even gave me an organic/gluten free chocolate chip cookie - not bad! I was happy that he even gave me a discount on some of the vitamins since I was buying a bundle. I've been taking these for over a week and am noticing a difference for sure :) read more

New to Texas I didn't know where I could go for my nutritional needs, I got recommend to cost plus and I just had to leave a review because I never have got such great service at any health food store! I recommend this store to all my friends and co workers , they got a wide selection of supplements very inexpensive . What really impressed me was how a staff member helped my mother with her high blood pressure , he was so knowledgable he recommend what was best and i can forever thank him cause what he recommend helped her alot.
