I started eating açai bowls in 2024 and fell in love with them. I would only get them from nauti-bowls and then they all closed. I was afraid to try any other places and I've missed the bowls. So I decided to stop in to Smoothie King at 135th and Quivira. I'm glad I did, I will be back and I reactivated my app. I didn't know they had avocado toast and a lot of other items, but I'm definitely going back for an açai bowl. Great experience! Smoothies are not normally my cup of tea. Everything is just too sweet!!!! But I came in with a BOGO deal (Major Savers) and we were excited to get the new Dude Perfect limited edition smoothie and cup! The more experienced employee worked with me to figure out the best way to ring it all up since it was a little tricky. But she nailed it! Smoothies were ridiculously sweet as I anticipated, but it was fun to try something new and the kids were thrilled! I recently came here for a light lunch and chose a protein smoothie. It was so thick! That's my absolute favorite in a smoothie, I can't stand when they start out running. It stayed so thick and cold the entire time it took me to drink it. The worker there wasn't particularly helpful or friendly when I was checking out, but she did a 180 once my smoothie was ready. It was my first time there and I didn't understand all of the menu, and that seemed to annoy her. I will come back for that smoothie though. read more

The smoothie didn't have too much of a flavor--wasn't bad, just was nothing special. The store has an appeal for health "nuts" but probably is not very healthy to be honest. Also, if you're looking for somewhere to sit, there are probably a total of 2 seats. Wouldn't return. read more

I don't like to leave negative reviews because they always come across vindictive, but in this case I feel management might benefit from knowing because they would want their store to be represented well. The product I receive is always great when I visit this location, but the last few times I visited there has been some team members who have openly reflected their annoyance while working. Today was the first time as a client it actually made me feel bad which is why I decided to leave a review, but I'd like to mention the other occasions. There is a young gal a few weeks ago who came out from the back and took register to take my order. After her greeting she looked down exasperated and muttered "shit!" And went back to the backroom briefly, emerging with her Smoothie King shirt now on. I don't really care about cussing or an honest mistake such as that, but she was negative throughout the ordering process and seemed to dread being there. Saw her again about a week later and she maintained the same negative attitude. She could be in a rough spot in life which I understand, but it makes me feel intrusive to approach the register looking into the store product when the first interaction I have is someone who doesn't want to be there. This evening I came in at 7pm and there was a gal who greeted me kindly and said it would just be a moment-- I said no problem because I needed to look at the menu. A young dude came out and took register, also gave a kind greeting. I chose something and they began to hop to action which is awesome, but i quickly realized that my choice wasn't right for me. I said basically, "oh shoot! I'm sorry! I would like something else-- is it too late to change?" I worked in a coffee shop for years and understand the frustration it is to prep a cup and then have to waste the ingredients to toss them and start over, so if it was too late it was ok with me. After some awkward communication largely due to me trying to figure out if it was too late to change, the pitcher only had water in it and we changed my order. If you're tracking with me so far, this experience has not gone badly yet. I know I was being a dodo brain changing my mind and that can be frustrating when you are trying to maintain a high level of customer service. That's why I tried to over communicate and make sure I wasn't causing waste. But after I looked back to the menu to make sure I knew what I wanted to order with no errors, the guy looked at the gal to express with his eyes how annoying he found me to be. I finished my order and he tried to maintain to my face a "pleasant tone" ... but I could sense the tenseness in it. And I turned to go wait in a chair and saw him stare down the back of my head in the reflection of the window until I made it to the chair at the end of the store, turned around, and met his eyes still staring. As they made my shake because the blender was making noise they started talking and I heard them say "I wish we could just say we were closed." So I looked at the hours on the door alarmed, wondering if I did in fact walk in at closing time by mistake-- because trust me I've been there and if that were the case I'd understand why they'd be so annoyed with me. Buy then I saw the store doesn't close until 9pm ‍ For the entire duration I was there, there were no other customers. I don't know if they had a really shitty rush earlier today or had super shitty people come in, and my dumb moment was the straw that broke the camels back-- because I can relate to that. But frankly I try to be as considerate as possible when I interact with people in the food service industry. You guys get shit on daily. But man I gotta say if the attitude you project while you are working makes me feel guilty when I leave even when I'm trying to be considerate, that is not on me. They made the product well but passive aggressiveness is equally as hurtful as blatant rudeness-- even though it seems under the radar. I hope the rest of tonight's shift goes fast and that this longwinded feedback is helpful to management. If not... ah well. Shared my observations and that's all I can do. TLDR: some of the staff need a different attitude when they are running front of shop. read more

I ordered 5 smoothies on Friday morning for my coworkers and I. Since I ordered them online I chose the option for them to be made asap. The website told me our smoothies would be ready for pickup by 9:21am. My boyfriend got there at 9:49am to pick them up, and texted me that they hadn't even started making a single one. Which meant he was going to be late to work... because work started at 10am. I am leaving a good review even though this experience was bothersome to me. Every other time I've ordered from this location I have had a good experience. The workers are nice and diligent, but what's the purpose of ordering online if my food/drink isn't ready when I get there? I got the Chocolate Hulk add peanut butter, and normally they're pretty thick. My smoothie arrived very runny, and didn't taste the way it normally does. read more

I've waited over an hour for my drinks but the workers were off task and not being customer friendly. there were another worker who didn't wanted to help out the other worker on making smoothies. My experience was A-OK. The service at the counter was not especially friendly, but was fast. My strawberry mango hydrator was delicious, and the price was good after the e-club coupon. I've been coming to this Smoothie King location for years and love the staff they have. Very helpful and always efficient. However, I've noticed a pattern in my time coming here. I'm not sure who he is, but whenever a short man with black hair comes into the establishment, all of the employees look afraid and on edge. I'm assuming this man is the manager of some sort. It seems like he may be a little hard on those teenagers. He may need to relax on them because his staff is doing an excellent job. I stopped by to treat myself to a dark chocolate smoothie because I had received a coupon electronically for $2.99!! I order ...tell the counter girl I've got my coupon on my phone... they don't say anything to me when I go to check out they tell me it's going to be $5.99 I said but I have my $2.99 coupon--another gal says oh you have to print it out and bring it in ....don't electronically market your product with a coupon if it can't be retrieved from your phone!!! I won't go back if you're not going to stand behind offers that you electronically transmit to your customers then don't make any offers.... are we in the 80s print out the coupon and bring it in seriously? read more

I was at this location early this afternoon and received a smoothie incorrectly made. The attendant quickly offered to remake it but when I discovered she'd added the turbinado I expressly asked be withheld, they refused to make the smoothie again. I left the store with neither an acceptable smoothie or much money returned to me. I realize I'm a single customer however, customer service is everything. The person behind the counter made no attempt to apologize, offer a coupon or anything. She simply stated "the policy", if it is in fact one. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'm from Wichita and have had smoothie king probably 100 times and i can honestly say this was the worst experience I've ever had at a smoothie king. I tried using my rewards and the worker rolled her eyes at me because the scanner wouldn't work then proceeded to wait 30 minutes for a smoothie. I thought okay maybe it will be worth it seems how the strawberry peanut plus is my favorite smoothie but this particular smoothie tasted awful. It literally tasted like water. I will NEVER go back here and would not recommend it to anybody expecting even somewhat decent service or a somewhat quality smoothie. I wouldn't pay a dollar for it here.
