I LOVE the smoothies here. I consistently get the angel food smoothie. But sometimes I'll switch it up. I especially like that I can switch the nonfat milk with oatmilk instead. They recently added smoothie bowls, and I wanted to try them out. I had the acai cocoa haze bowl. It was good, but the bananas on top were super mushy, so I was a little grossed out eating that. Honesty helped me out this morning and was able to make me the perfect smoothie with some minor substitutions. Terrible service at this location, and i can't say the company is much better, I ordered an over 10 dollar drink, customized it to be low sugar and dairy free. Not only were none of my customizations followed, but you can see for yourself how they filled the cup. I can accept mistakes, but I have written the company and called the store, and no one has reached out to rectify this despite it being over a week. I don't understand how they can call themselves a health brand and not take people's preferences seriously. If I had more serious health conditions, someone could have been hurt! Every time I go to smoothie king I usually stick with the Lean 1 vanilla or Lean 1 strawberry and I have never had an issue. It's delicious, not too sweet and has a slight nutty flavor from the almonds. This time I decided to order the keto berry and it was terrible. There was no taste of berries at all, just a mouth full of protein powder. I had two other people try it and everyone agreed that the taste was terrible. The vanilla lean 1 is still definitely my favorite and I will always go to that from now on. On a positive note, the store is very clean and they are enforcing social distancing. Normally my go to spot to weekly for smoothies. But the last 2 times I've come have been horrendous. Online orders take 0 priority from walk-ins. I ordered my smoothies at 10:45am. Friendly staff. My first time in a Smothie king. I did not know what to get. They asked me a few questions a made me a delicious smoothie customized for me. They have an extensive menu but they can exchange any ingredient for another. I noticed that most people order to go but I decided to enjoy my smoothie at one of their tables. The service here is usually spotty. I came in a few days ago, and a girl that works there was outside on the phone yelling at someone right by the door, and the one guy that was inside was just on his phone and I had to wait for him to look up to talk to me. They are also out of ingredients pretty often. Over the last few weeks they have not had coffee at all, and they don't have pumpkin despite the big ads in and outside of their location that are promoting their pumpkin beverages. I just stopped asking for anything but one smoothie that I get regularly because it just seems like they're out of ingredients so often. I stopped into Smoothie King this morning for a quick smoothie before a 4 mile walk. While placing my order, I noticed small bugs running across the counter. I brought this to the employees' attention. He advised that they are aware of the issue and confirmed that they were roaches. Needless to say, I was disgusted. I brought to his attention all of the areas where I had seen them and asked him to remove the protein bars from the front counter. This location should close until it is properly fumigated and free of pests. I also phoned the corporate office to express my concerns. I'm kind of surprised by all of the bad reviews of this location. I usually stop in around lunch time and there is hardly a wait. The employees are very friendly and always helpful when trying to decide what to order. A couple of tips: 1) Ask if your smoothie is made with turbinado (sugar). You can always have them not add sugar or use splenda. I usually order the Gladiator which has no sugar. 2) Check the website for nutritional info. The menu of smoothies is a little overwhelming so on the website you can take your time and know what you want before you get there. Overall I think I like the smoothies from Tropical Smoothie a little better, but that place is a CF and takes forever sometimes. I definitely would not go back to Smoothie King ever. After trying Jamba Juice and S.K., there is no comparison. I really don't know how anyone whose ever gone to Jamba Juice could ever go back to S.K. to begin with: they use sugar, A LOT of sugar. I ordered a large Acai Adventure and I was amazed at the amout, close to half a cup, of sugar they put into the "natural" smoothie. Second of all, they use massive amounts of ice; I know, it's a smoothie so it needs ice but, what happens when all of that ice in a 40 oz cup (that's the size of a large) starts to melt? I'll tell you what happens, you go from enjoying a smoothie to drinking and Acai Adventure drink in less than 30 minutes. Another thing I noticed was that they pump some sort of syrup into the smoothie (???) before they put the frozen fruit mix - Jamba Juice uses REAL fruit - into the blender. Another thing was that the guy working there in the morning looked tired and hungover; yeah, the last thing I want to see after my morning workout is a slow, sluggish, lackadasical, tired and bored store employee (manager?) with a half-dead glazed look in his eyes.
