I don't believe I've ever been to a smoothie king before. A friend highly recommended this place to me. I walked in and was blindsided by the selection and I asked the young woman what her favorite smoothie was. She asked me if I liked peanut butter, I said yes and she quickly recommended the chocolate peanut butter smoothie. She asked what size, I said your choice (medium was selected). While I was waiting I made small talk with the two young women. I also noticed they sell dark chocolate covered nuts. I looked for almonds but did not see them. My smoothie was cold, thick, and tasty. The taste was a good mix of chocolate and peanut butter without being overwhelming. I was surprised how filling it left me feeling. Went in to order a couple smoothies, however I could not dismiss the putrid smell. When I asked the girl if she smelled it she said she's used to it. Gag!!! I'm a food service employee and I can smell a dirty place. They need some Clorox to sanitize their store because it should not have that foul odor. I went there for lunch yesterday, and after standing in line for a few minutes I realized the line wasn't moving. I caught the attention of the closest employee and she said the register was offline, they weren't able to take orders, and she didn't know how long it would be. All 6 customers in line walked out. I used to work at this smoothie king, if you could see some of the things I've seen you'd probably never want to eat here, fruit left out, things not cleaned properly, druggie employees caught shooting up in the bathroom ( and they still made her a manager)! Molded fruit in the freezers in the back. Store always smells like nasty mop water, Lynn and Eric, the owners, put their grandkids and kids to work this place and they get away with so much, had to close store multiple times because her granddaughter didn't show up on time but it wasn't a big deal. Sorry SK not impressed. This store must have a new franchise owner. Recently I gave them a try twice, couldn't get to order. First time a few people ahead of me, no big deal. However, only one worker and swamped with mobile/on-line orders plus customers in the store. Second visit, similar issue, one person and then we noticed smell in store coming from bathroom with out of order sign...Right, definitely out of order had to leave. The staff were hurt we went in 4min before closing when they should have just locked the door. When we went in there and one of the ladys made a smart comment talking about "now we have to make smoothies for these 3 guys" . After having such a good workout session and hitting one of our favorite places to finish off the good night our moods were ruined. I tried going on a Friday morning at 8:15am and the door was locked. There was a light on in the back, but the "wet floor" sign was still out and the lobby lights were off. I wish I could get a white chocolate protein shake I got at a smoothie king in California. After reading the reviews I was a little iffy about going to this one. But I was pleasantly surprised when My family and I went in. I wish I would have gotten her name. She even replaced my daughters drink because she said it tasted off. She didn't have to, but she did. The smoothies are great here, even if the service is a tad slow. The attendants seem less than satisfied with their lives somehow...not sure I have received a smile from either of them despite multiple trips. I wonder whether they are being mistreated by management or something? I love the selection at smoothie king. Great sizes, good vegan options, good kid options. Drink carriers are handy. Good supplements, protein options snacks, etc. Unfortunately the customer service sucks. Its kind of sad it matters that much for a grab and go place like this. However, they need to focus on keeping their regulars, regular, and turning new comers into people that would come back. The staff turnover is high, they are regularly rude, inattentive, and seem annoyed with their job. If the staff were friendlier, I'd probably be there 2 or 3 times a week. Service is slow, but the smoothies are amazing. They're very knowledgeable about what goes into their smoothies and how to accommodate your needs! Smoothies are more expensive than most places imo, but they taste better because they're made with real fruit. There was a bunch of people in there waiting on smoothies and one even walked out because of how slow the service was. After a workout, my friend wanted to stop by for a protein smoothie. I ordered two small smoothies (one to take home for my girlfriend). We ordered at the cash register at the back. I pulled out my card, and was told I would have to pay at the cash register at the front. Not a problem but I thought that was kind of weird. So I did that and waited for 10 minutes at the tables while the smoothies were being made. This is where the fun starts. My friend's large smoothie came out first, so I joined him at the counter to pick it up. I was then handed a large smoothie myself and the lady said, "Here's your smoothie". I commented that this was the largest "small" smoothie I had ever seen. I was waiting for my other smoothie when it became apparent that they were still making both my small ones, all while I was sipping down this mystery smoothie I was given. The lady, I think she's the owner, got mad at me because I was drinking this large smoothie. She said, "You shouldn't be drinking that. You ordered two smalls; that is not a small." She was mean. I said, "No it's not, but you gave it to me and told me it was mine". She yelled back to her husband who was also working and said, "Where did this large smoothie come from?". He didn't know either. She icily asked me if I wanted to keep the one I started. I said that I did. She contorted that I was getting a good deal since I paid for a small and got a large, as if it was my fault. They ended up throwing one of my small smoothies away after making it. I left there totally dumbfounded. The lady was pretty rude and accusatory, but all I did was take the smoothie I was offered. Employees are very knowledgable about what is in the smoothies and how to modify to meet your needs. They are pricey but considering a medium meal replacement smoothie is very satisfying , it's still reasonable. Don't expect to be in and out in 5 minutes- especially if there are customers ahead of you. I've never seen more than one employee in there at a time. I continue to go there because I love the smoothies and for the most part the employees are very friendly and helpful. read more

Let start off here, employees are always great, friendly and work as quickly as they can, older guy who I'm sure is the manager is okay too, but one day there was an older women in there. Obviously the owners wife.. VERY RUDE. One should take pride in their business, but not this lady. Very arrogant and very very rude to her own employees, right in front of customers! I come to smoothie king for the smoothies and friendly employees, but I will NOT be back in there while the older owners wife is in there.
