These guys are open pretty early on the weekdays! They open at 7am. I don't even think I'm out of my house by that time. Anyway, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has good smoothies. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet but their Peanut Paradise was pretty good. With a slightly small wierd taste that could be ignored. The smoothie came out fast. I would come back. I like going here for lunch. It's close to the hospital and I usually order a Super Green chicken wrap and a detox smoothie. The lines can be long so I would recommend ordering online for pickup. It's super convenient and a healthy meal. read more

As far as smoothies go this is a great place. My personal favorite is the Aci Berry. For me I don't like anything green in my smoothie. If I want grass I can go out to my yard. They are very flexible with their salads with substitutions and the Jerk Chicken wrap is my number one to go to. You can eat in. read more

Being so close to Wright State and the Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the Tropical Smoothie Cafe was always so convenient for me to stop by and grab a bite to eat during lunch. I used to do their points card where if you purchased so many smoothies you would get the last one free or at a discounted rate. I liked to get the wraps and salads here for a lighter fare. I didn't feel guilty ordering this as I knew it was much a healthier option than the crap they were serving at my school. I knew I was making good choices with whatever I went with. I have probably tried all the smoothies here from the Bahama Mama to peanut butter and chocolate. It would give me that extra energy I needed to get throughout the day either at work or school. I wish they would have a tropical smoothie in my hometown in Columbus than I would be there all the time. Plus I would be giving them great business as well! read more

Despicable manners by one young lady in the store. Paige had phenomenal customer service, but the other girl there was blatantly rude and disrespectful. It's unfortunate to ruin someone's establishment because your customer service skills lack so greatly. Had a very average experience here today. I was less than impressed with the smoothie I ordered. It lacked flavor and substance even though it consisted of 500 calories. The cost was decent, only $4 for the rather large smoothie, but I would rather pay more for better quality. No complaints regarding the service. read more

So I may give this review higher stars based on flavor but there are two things that will probably prevent me from coming back to this establishment. First, my smoothie is VERY sweet. I got the chia banana boost with Peanut butter. I know there's some sweet foods in there but I make these kinds of smoothies at home and they aren't this sweet. It tastes like they've added sugar to it. Unfortunately I won't be back to order another one to confirm this. Second, the customer service here is VERY rude. This is a deal breaker for me. I don't care how good your product is. If I wanted to be mostly ignored by a cashier, I'll go to Walmart. This is the 2nd time in the past 2 weeks I've experienced this. Sadly, on my last trip, Angel waited on me and was wearing a Manager name-tag. Now I understand why the attitude of the staff is bad. Poor management breads poor staff. I know this is long but I have to bring up my other bad experience here. I didn't have a lot of time before work but enough to grab a smoothie. When I got there, a woman was picking up a carry out order. They apparently didn't scan a rewards card and when she asked about it they told her she could call in and do it over the phone. The lady said no that she'd forget and asked them to void and re-ring her order. There were 3 employees and all 3 were standing at the register trying to figure this out while a line of people formed. Everyone in line was ignored while 1 employee tried to figure out the problem and 2 stared blankly into space. Call me crazy but why couldn't the other two take and make orders until the register was free and then ring them in? Or at least apologize and let us know we matter?? After 10 minutes of this, I left empty handed. I only came back because of product but, being met with the same unprofessional customer service and receiving a sugar laden smoothie has deterred me for life. I won't be back. read more

Good food and smoothies but girl with long white hair had her hair flowing everywhere and then another lady with bald head and tattoos on her neck adjusted her pants that were literally showing her whole butt with her gloves on and then continued to make food with the same gloves. Tropical Smoothie...where have you been all my life? This is my first and last stop when heading in and out of Dayton, OH. Located by Wright State and the Wright Patt AFB, you'll find Tropical Smoothie in a really run down strip mall sandwiched btw a Fed Ex Office store and the Flying Pizza. On the menu you will find a wide selection of specialty smoothies that will rival any Jamba Juice and you can get them with Soy/Whey protein, immunity, vitamins and other "boosts." My favorite is the Health Nut. So yummy. I know it is just ice and water, some fruit and some juice, but these drinks are way delicious. I've never had one, but they also sell sandwiches, chips and cookies so it would be a great spot for a quick lunch. read more

During a shopping trip to the Fairfields Commons, my husband and I were struck with a serious carving for Jamba Juice. Sadly, there isn't one for miles, so we settled on trying this place. I ordered the Peaches n' Silk and my husband ordered the Kiwi Citrus Green Tea. The Peaches n' Silk was okay- not really that great. Just meh- nothing impressive. The Kiwi Citrus Green Tea though- that was delicious! The kiwi and orange worked so well with the green tea. And the yogurt added a creaminess to the smoothie that I really enjoyed. Went to this location to pick up an online order. The point of ordering online for pick up is so that you can literally grab your order and go (even the online order confirmation says this). Got to work and found that there were no straws and no cookies. The only thing they got right was the smoothies. Since I picked up the order for a co-worker she called the store. Long story short, the manager at this location doesn't understand what customer service is. He was quite rude on the phone and pretty much told my co-worker that it's up to the customer to grab cookies and straws no matter how the order was placed. The Huber Hieghts location doesn't do this, everything is in the bag for an online order. read more

On a typical week, I go to Tropical Smoothie 2-3 times. I usually have a good experience and the food/smoothies are always good. Today, I was extremely impressed with the service, though. When I arrived, they had just received a really large order of smoothies the cashier was trying to ring up. A girl saw that I was waiting and went ahead and took my order and made my smoothie, so it was ready as soon as I finished paying. I think it's awesome that she took the initiative. Generally have a good experience here. I'm especially impressed with the customer service at the register, there's a girl named Mariah who's always very nice, and the other employees are similar. However my last time here, which was twenty minutes out from their closing time, I didn't receive a quality product. I watched the employee accidentally drop some of the ingredients on the ground and simply blend what she had up and gave it to me. It tasted like wet spinach and was unlike the usual taste of the smoothie. I didn't ask for a refund because I could tell they were rushing to close things down.
