100/100! THIS IS A FIVE STAR ALERT!…read more As an argentine I can attest this is as authentic as it gets. I was at a family wedding in Dayton, and as I drove to my hotel I found this little gem. AMAZING, the owner, Monica was Argentine and so sweet. She puts her soul and passion into the homemade meals and it's like being in Buenos Aires in the middle of Ohio. Gnocchi with Beef In Marinara Sauce…read more WE know that often Argentine restaurants offer pasta dishes. We arranged to arrive ten minutes early in order to converse with Mónica Fabregat. Well worth the planning and effort. Mónica was delighted to learn that we have visited Argentina and experienced the people, cuisine, beauty, and various wineries. Always a pleasure to visit with Monica. Today: Gnocchi with Beef In Marinara Sauce - solid five stars. Monica advised that they do not prepare gnocchi; I recall days when my Italian wife and mother rolled gnocchi in the kitchen. Monica does not lose points for purchase of gnocchi. We have traveled to Argentina and Italy and know the restaurants do not apply marina at the liberal rate experienced in US, but they will add more upon request. La Embajada is becoming one of our favorite restaurants.

I've had plantains in the past, but these were certainly the best I've tried. For entrees, we went with arroz con pollo and bandeja paisa which was basically an assortment platter. I was a little disappointed in the arroz con pollo. Rice was over cooked and the flavor was overall muted. For dessert, we tried obleas -- thin waffles filled with jam, caramel and cheese. The waffles weren't true waffles, but more just cracker type. Again, rather disappointing but maybe I just don't have the right taste for it. The service was excellent, and we did enjoy the appetizers. Entrees and dessert were a let down. Overall, 3 stars in my book.
