Greek Street does Greek food right. The quality is superb, and the meat tastes delicious. I enjoyed a lamb gyro 'Greek street style' which has tzatziki, tomato jam, pickled red onions, parsley and paprika. The fries were also crispy. My only reservation is the price for the amount of food. At a $16 price point for a gyro and fries, I'd be expecting to have the gyro overflowing with ingredients and almost challenging to fold. Don't get me wrong, I understand it costs money to get high quality meat and marinades, but when most lunch options can be had for around $10-12, it has me thinking I'll visit Greek Street only on certain occasions. read more

This is a terrific new Greek eatery in Cross Pointe Plaza. It is a "spinoff" of a popular food truck. The location is quite convenient and easy to find. The interior was well done with a lot of stainless surfaces. While crisp and new, it was not elegant. It had a basic layout that vaguely reminded me of roadside food courts which I've visited outside the US. The format was walk-up and order. The gentleman working the front was quite pleasant and reasonably efficient. Their menu is fairly streamlined and is centered on gyro sandwiches. I opted for a gyro combo with an upgrade to Greek Fries. My Gyro was Greek Street style which included tzatziki, tomato jam, pickled red onions, parsley and paprika. The tomato jam was really a nice touch as it conferred a little sweeter taste to the gyro. The Greek Fries were also very good with tzatziki, feta, dill and scallions. My wife was not as hungry and chose to have the Avgolemono Soup (Chicken Lemon Rice Soup) while sharing my fries. The soup was quite tasty as well. I also had a Greek Coffee, which was pretty good. The final cost with food, drinks, tax and tip was just over $30. Given the quality of the fare, I was not unhappy with the cost. I would be happy to try this place again. read more

Cute, clean establishment. Greeted promptly by friendly worker who helped me choose toppings for my rice bowl. I ordered pork belly as my protein. While not a traditional Greek protein- it was cooked to perfection- crispy tender and juicy. Perfectly complemented by pickled red onions, Taziki sauce, fresh tomatoes, fresh, cucumbers, feta, on a bed of yellow rice. Absolutely delicious! I have to say one of the BEST spots we've found in the Dayton area so far! From the second we walked in being greeted to the assistance provided in ordering what we'd love. A few different dishes here in occasionally but fundamentally the food tastes the same. Greek Street was different. For example, the Gyro meat was not the typical shaved meat I've been used to, but rather it was chunks of lamb that have been carved. The tzatziki sauce was terrific. Vicious and complex. We were going to go another greek place in the area but it was crowded so decided to try Greek Street and was glad we did. This is the first time having lamb like this in a gyro for me. We got the beef empanada and it was cooked to perfection with great flavor and crispy on the outside. The powdered sugar on top was a nice touch too. My husband and I stumbled across Greek Street, and we're so glad we did. The food was delicious! We both got lamb gyros (one traditional and one Greek style). The meat was tender and so flavorful, and they did not skimp on the meat at all. The only thing I would change is adding some vegetables like lettuce so that the gyro isn't as heavy (probably should have gotten a side salad haha) because it was so much meat. A friend and I stopped in for lunch today after spotting it. I had the pan con chicharron (pork belly sandwich) with a chicken papa rellena for the side. The red onions were wonderfully tangy and the telera bread had a great texture. The pork was pretty chewy in places which made for a bit of a challenge in a sandwich format (I'm glad I didn't try to eat this on the road!) It would've been just fine as a fork-and-knife deal but the pressure required to try and chew through the pork mashed all the other ingredients. Slicing the pork into smaller pieces would probably help, though those CHONKS make for good photos. :D The papa rellena was tender and a good size and fried to perfection. Lomo Saltado: -the lomo saltado was perfectly marinated and cooked -the rice was fluffy and ready to soak up all of the juice from this delicious dish -this dish is a crowd pleaser, and a classic Peruvian delicacy. If you're new to Peruvian food, I suggest trying this dish first! Papa Rellena: -the crust on the outside layer made a fantastic texture contrast to the soft mashed potatoes and the ground beef filing on the inside -the seasoning of the filing is savory and flavorful -this is a classic comfort food, you'll love it! Empanada: -we ordered a chicken and a beef empanada, but we devoured the chicken one too quickly to even snap a photo! -the dough is nice and thin, which allows the scrumptious filling to shine -empanadas are made in all of south and Central America, but the Peruvian version of empanadas are my favorite! OMG Fantastic Peruvian Food!!! I stopped in for a quick bite and loved it - I put in a 2d order to go! They opened in July 2020 so are still adding to the space & seating arrangements but have 4-top tables, and a streamlined but truly authentic and delicious menu - I had a chicken empanada (wonderful chicken filling - didn't need any sauce), steak skewers (prime steak chunks perfectly grilled in Peruvian spices and chimichiri drizzle) with rice (with parsley, lime? and Peruvian corn - a bit like hominy) and pinto beans (and wow those are comfort food when they are stewed down - such great flavor), plus a refreshing drink made from purple maize corn. He is still maturing the menu, but I am *really* excited to find this place - put it on your list!!! They use real Peruvian spices, so you get the real deal with the peppers and sauces -- "5-star YUM!" Happy to find I can eat like I am in Peru, if I can't travel there right now :) read more
