Atmosphere is poor and the AC doesn't work, but their falafel is cheap and excellent. 5 stars

I placed a catering order for 10 and had plenty left over! We got regular gyro and chicken gyro meat, felafel for our vegetarians, Greek Salad, pita bread and, of course, baklava. The portions were very generous, the food was fresh and delicious, and the price was reasonable. Overall a great experience and I'd definitely order from them again! read more

I stopped in march 22nd of 2026 the young man working there had two female friends he was more worried about then keeping the line running I stopped in 2 hours prior to close and none of the toppings or protein option available as I tried ordering he was very rude and got upset when i didn't immediately hear him as he sounded like auctioneer, and as i ordered my food he turned my chicken sharwma into lettuce wrap on peta bread, I hope this is not the downfall of this place as I haven't had any issues until now read more

We ordered through DoorDash. The majority of the food was good, and would be even better if we dined in. We ordered gyros, chicken shawarma, moussaka, fries, dolmades, falafel, hummus, fried mushrooms, and the three meat platter. The good: gyros, three meat combo, chicken shawarma, and falafel. The almost good: Greek fries, they would have been really good if we dined in, but we didn't, and the dressing made them very soggy. The flavor was great though. I suggest having the vinegar based dressing on the side for take out orders. The ok: tzatziki sauce (bland), hummus (bland), fried mushrooms (greasy), dolmades. The bad: moussaka, it had noodles, and no eggplant. It was pastitio not moussaka. It was dry and pretty unappealing. I am not a picky eater, I couldn't finish it. I would try it again if someone else wanted to go, but otherwise, I probably won't be back. read more

FOOD POISONING! Do not eat here, especially not late night. My group got food poisoning from the chicken shawarma on family weekend. The food isn't worth it in the first place, but especially not now. read more

I ordered a double meat gyro. Not even close. $12.99 for something that looks like the size of a hotdog. I never complained about them. They're amazing, but never going back. If I could attach a pic of the sandwich, you'd be shocked, read more

I'm really impressed with the food, Rino made me a special falafel. It was enough for 2 days. I'll definitely be a return customer!

Exceptional place near UD. Have been recommended by a friend. This place did not disappoint. I got the 2 meat combo Gyro(5/5)- if you can tolerate spicy (get the spicy sauce on top). The meat was super tender and the portions are decent. The fries are amazing. Crunchy, fluffy and a hint of spice. The falafel was also good. Made to order (They should add a tiny bit of spice to it). Overall a great place. I would definitely go again. read more

I'm Greek so I'm pretty snobby about my Greek and Mediterranean food but my boyfriend and I came here for lunch for the first time and it was really good. For fast Greek food, I was happy with it. I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich on pita and he had a chicken and beef gyro on pita, which they cooked fresh in front of us. My pita was warm and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. They also put cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, lettuce and Tzatziki sauce on top. I also got grape leaves and we shared some delish seasoned fries to go on the side. We also got an Oreo mousse-cake for desert and it was good! It is a good location right near campus and surrounded by other good food places. It is also right near the bars, and open until 3 am!!!! Perfect for some late night munchies. I would definitely come here again and was impressed by the options. read more

Gyro Palace - Chicken Kabob Sandwich with grape leaves - Mediterranean Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

The gyro was really great. Meat was cut thinner than I'm used to, great sauce, tomato and onion. Greek salad had Romain lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, olives and a great Greek salad dressing. The spinach pastries were really flavorful with onion and garlic flavors but kind of small. They delivered it quickly. *no silverware or napkins, I'm in a hotel and travel with a fork but if you don't it could be a problem! read more

I met a friend here for lunch on a Friday in mid/late January. Not quite sure where their official parking is....but I found something and didn't get a ticket or towed thank goodness. Two people working and a lunch rush meant things movies quite slow. A third person eventually came to work the register, but she rang things up incorrectly at least twice during our wait. But I enjoyed my gyro and Greek fries. The portion of meat I got was pretty huge! The sauce/seasoning for the Greek fries was just a little heavy on the lemon for my tastes, but still enjoyable with everything else. Greek isn't really my thing. But I'd be fine with returning here if I have another friend express that's their preference. I do wonder if their baklava or baklava cheesecake is any good.... read more

It is always great food. Every time that I go into Dayton I always get Gyro Palace and the only thing I can say is I need to get a Dayton more often read more

Gyro Palace - I'm sorry I ate the Gyro but it looked really good before I put my mouth on it - Mediterranean Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

This was a terrible experience! I ordered the moussaka, French fries, and a medium coke. The moussaka was microwaved, old tasting, and flavorless. I took 2 bites and promptly left the restaurant totally disappointed. The French fries were laden with some type of "Old Bay" type seasoning and I could not eat them as well. Please save your $16.50 and go to a good restaurant. read more

I would have given Gyro Palace 5 stars a few months ago, but my last two meals have been incredibly disappointing.  The first strike: I ordered Pastitsio, which usually comes with béchamel sauce.  I've ordered it before, but there was no béchamel sauce this time.  Instead, there was an overabundance of tomato sauce.  The second strike: today I ordered Moussaka, described on their menu as "Sliced eggplant baked in a ground beef sauce and then smothered in a thin béchamel sauce."  Sadly there was NO eggplant! Once small consolation is that the fries were pretty good. Dare I try them again? I'm not sure. read more

We were expecting a sit down dining experience vs. cafeteria food. To be fair we left without trying the food.

My wife and I got a Greek Salad, a traditional gyro, hummus, Greek fries, and dolmades to go. The experience was bad. We do not recommend Gyro Palace. First, the customer service was poor and unfriendly. Second, the portions were weak sauce. Nothing filled the containers. Just felt cheap. Finally, the food. The salad was pre-made. So, the tomatoes were soggy, the salad flat, and the overall taste underwhelming. The gyro was so greasy that it fell apart when picked up. And, it was disturbing how when the maker went to put it together, a significant portion of its meat fell on the floor. It was not replaced. The Greek fries were soaked. So much so that they drenched the rest of the take-out bag. The hummus and dolmades were decent, but they were both too oily. In light of all of this, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO to Gyro Palace. read more

Despite the food being top notch, the service is abysmal at best. The owner isn't the best on customer service and the turnover in staff is an absolute joke. If you eat here, prepare to wait a while. read more

Delish! Their pita bread is Amazing!!! The food was good and the service was fast. This is not a dine-in restaurant although they do have several small metal tables inside. We had original gyros with rice & salads. We also tried the dessert. The baklava cheesecake was good but the baklava was average (it was pretty dry). Hot and fresh pita bread - went amazing with the hummus. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get (I spent $36 on dinner and dessert for two, plus a side of hummus to-go). Many things are made fresh and to-order. Definitely recommend. read more

I have no idea where the 1-star reviewer ate, but it definitely wasn't here... Got the original gyro and was not disappointed; hot pita bread, fresh onions, crisp cucumber, and absolutely piled high with delicious meat and tzatziki sauce!! Sure, the fries may be nothing special, but you don't come to a place like this for the fries! read more

The food is quite good! But the staff doesn't mask, and I was greeted with 'What do you want?' after waiting an inordinate amount of time. They were clearly struggling to manage four customers in line and three pick up orders. If you have the time to wait, the food is good. But the customer service is sorely lacking. read more

The food is very good, but inconsistent between visits. Not all of the employees wear masks and when customers come in they do not care about if the mask is on properly or not. One woman who was preparing and handling food wore the mask around her chin with mouth and nose exposed. I will not be coming back here during the pandemic. read more

We would frequent the Gyro Palace on Airway in college and were very excited to see a location close to downtown where we live. The first time we ordered the food was fantastic! So flavorful and fresh. We have ordered several times since and have had some inconsistencies in how the order is prepared. This most recent time both of our meals tasted as if they were prepared without any seasoning and our tatziki sauces were half frozen. We will continue ordering from Gyro Palace but do hope that they become more consistent with the flavor and preparation of ingredients. read more

Ordered lunch here. Overall underwhelming yet expensive. My order was about $11 for gyro, fries, and drink. Fries were mostly bits and ends. Gyro meat was thin and greasy. It had been kept in a warmer and wasn't fresh. Service was fine but the single person working there was a bit overwhelmed. read more

This is the best place to eat at ever I don't understand the negative reviews. Everything I have tried is amazing !! This place is great! Everything is fresh and made in house from scratch. Their gyros are flavorful and generous in portion size (you can pick all your toppings like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, feta, and tzatziki). And their hummus is so silky smooth! If I could give less then a one star I would! Place is gross taste disgusting! My meat was cold sauce was watery! Falafel had no flavor!

I love this place!!! Best service in the game on brown st. Love this sandwich. Best prices. Best gyro in dyt

Was there yesterday and had a terrible experience. It took forever to get our food (no one in front of us) and when we got it, it was cold because the kid putting toppings on took his sweet ass time. The gyro and veggie pita were also very sloppily made. I asked for my money back, and the kid was laughing in the background the whole time like it was a joke i was unhappy. He also decided to run his mouth when i didnt ask for a full refund bc we kept the fries. He said " oh hahaha, so you liked the fries?" And was staring us down the whole time. The "manager" on duty did nothing about it. It was very unprofessional. People are allowed to not like something. We will not be returning to this location. read more

Best gyro I've had in the Dayton area. I had the original gyro with rice. They shaved the meat from the spit right in front of me and toasted the pita bread. People were very friendly and the place was clean. Slightly expensive but I couldn't even finish all of the rice so overall it was good value. read more

Came in for their grand opening this evening and it was SO good. Got an original gyro and Greek fries. They gyro was loaded with a ton of meat and toppings and the Greek fries came smothered with Greek dressing and feta. Everything was delicious and super fresh. Will definitely be coming back, though on a college budget it's a littttlle expensive for what you get. Nonetheless, loved it. read more
