Get your smoothie in Terminal D [Baltimore MD] This was my first time trying a Smoothie King drink... located on Terminal D14 inside the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. Before heading to our gate I stopped by and ordered the Lemon Twist Strawberry. This is a good place to get a refresher that meets your health and fitness goals at the same time. They can whip up a perfect blend for you with whole non-GMO fruits, organic veggies and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. I was happy with my Lemon Twist Strawberry (strawberries, white grape lemon juice blend, papaya juice blend, and turbinado). So refreshing! I love the tart flavor... made my lips pucker up! LoL... and what is a turbinado, you ask? It's an all-natural sugar that isn't processed. Yup! Hmm... where is the closest Smoothie King to California? Hubby had the Papaya Mango Ginger. Before our flight, we stopped here for smoothies. The lack of customer service was interesting. The ambiance was on par with the Smoothie King brand, but on a smaller scale. The first staff member who took our order just stood in front of the register and looked at us. There was no verbal interaction on her part, just a stare. We placed the order, paid, and waited for our orders. The staff member who set my drink on the counter was not the same person who prepared it. The third employee who served the drink was engaged in a deep conversation with an employee from another part of the airport. As she poured my smoothie into the cup, she continued talking without interruption. Finally, she said, "Lemon ginger", placed the cup on the counter, walked away, and continued her conversation. The bar for good customer service is pretty much non-existent these days; not only at Smoothie King, but overall. On a lighter note, the smoothie was delicious. read more

Quick service and friendly staff. The Carribean way is a good strawberry, banana, papaya blend with natural brown sugar (turbinado) and is tasty. Expected of a smoothie joint in the airport. Service was fast in the early AM, which was very much appreciated. Huge menu selection of smoothies which can be overwhelming. I ordered a large mango smoothie which initially tasted decent, but ended up being way too sweet in that artificial syrup-y way. By the time I took it on the plane an hour later, it completely melted and the "mango" smoothie separated and settled to the bottom of the cup, making it look very unappetizing. I only drank about half of my large smoothie so recommend ordering a smaller size. Prices were definitely a little inflated but understandable since it accounts for convenience and airport pricing. read more

Located near gate D5 and the foot court area (Delta, JetBlue and Spirit flights), this Smoothie King has an extensive and possibly overwhelming menu. There's probably 50 different drink mixes available plus more add-ins and mix-ins. Today I chose a small (20 ounces!) "Immune Builder Orange" which had a nice mix of pineapples and orange juice plus an herbal immunity enhancer. Tasty, but better with my pre-departure beverage on board the plane - two minis of vodka. Because it's orange juice, that's healthy not alcoholism! Be careful with your choices. Just because it's a smoothie doesn't make it calorie-free. Some of these drinks weigh in at nearly 1000 calories! Quick service, which it needs to be at an airport. read more

Jamba Juice is now nasty to me lol. This place took smoothies to another level, I highly recommend them. I had them every day for 5 days while I was in the East Coast. The closest one to me is in Vegas. I live in Portland Oregon they need some here asap. read more

Wish I could but it's not open when the hours say it opens at 4. Had my heart set in a smoothie and now I'm in line at McDonalds.

I'm used to making my smoothies at home and I guess that's a downfall. I like things really healthy and the ingredients looks so good. But when I saw the pitcher half filled with ice, I knew that it was just some powders and being good for your health is questionable. I'll have to do some research post and update. Having said that, the service was great, and the employees were very nice. UPDATE: 95 grams sugar in 32 oz Wellness Lemon Ginger smoothie. That's insane. I went to the website and I recommend you do that. They can customize the smoothie. I AM very impressed at them trying to be organic,and not put bad ingredients in. Their list of ingredients that they don't use is very impressive. I give them Kudos for that. But when I order a wellness smoothie, I expected to be healthy. 95 grams of sugar is not healthy and tastes sickeningly sweet. I don't care if it's natural or not. This smoothie king is typical of other stores. The service is was fast enough. I didn't decide to get anything here because there are no truely vegetarian smoothies. All of them have too many fruits added which to me is too much sugar. I had the lemon ginger spinach smoothie here before a flight, and enjoyed the taste - it was still a bit sweeter than I'd like, but not ridiculously so. Since I saw that there was no added sugar, I assumed (/hoped) that the sweetness was from fruit juice. But according to the nutrition facts on the website, it includes stevia. I know this is America, but if you're going to have a "Wellness" section on your menu, pro-tip - keep those smoothies free of added sugar AND artificial sweeteners. read more

No, don't think this place is where you should go even if you think it's healthy because it's not. I ordered a kale smoothie & it was like drinking pure sugar, it was disgusting & ended up throwing it away. Although I waited to order, I waited longer for my smoothie because I guess they had issues w/ the blenders. Sheesh, they realize people have places to go right? I was pretty grossed out at how messy & sticky things were, I mean come on, clean some things up. I had to go wash up after & drink a crapload of water from that awful taste in my mouth. BWI Baltimore Airport location is terrible, they are supposed to close at 9:00 pm, but they always stop serving after the last flight arrives and before 9 pm, I was denied as a regular customer at 7:50 pm, I was told "the manager told me to put everything away and start to clean" That happened 3 times, before 8 and 7:50 pm in the last 2 weeks. The employees here are not very professional. I went here today and the cashier rung me up for a 32oz smoothie even though I asked for a 20oz, and she did the same thing to the guy behind me. I can't have that much sugar so I asked her to void the charge and refund me and they said they don't have a manager so they can't do anything about it... also the pineapple spinach smoothie I ordered was almost yellow and didn't look anything like the green one in the picture and it didn't taste like it had much or any spinach in it at all. Just waited 11 minutes for a smoothie with one person in front of me. No sense of urgency, despite its airport location, and no interest in moving any faster than a snails pace. Not on the staff, but forget every time I don't go here for a while that everything tastes like sugar water. Not sure there is a better option in the airport if you are craving this type of beverage, but don't stop if you are pressed for time. read more
