I've come to this particular location several times. They run out of items often and I've ordered a bowl several times as well to only have a bowl so watery it's like soup that I have to sip. I absolutely hate this location. I have a major SK addiction and unfortunately this location is extremely convenient from where my house is. They're not slow on every trip, the problem is the total lack of consistency. They are slow *WAY* too often and to completely egregious degrees. I sat in line for 39 minutes last weekend, thinking surely they were having some kind of technical glitch that was going to be worked out any moment. Uhh, no. I was pretty confident they were just going to comp the drink considering how insanely long people were in line, but nope. I just got home from a trip up there, it took me 15 minutes to get up to order, I was trapped in that stupid line for almost 10 of those minutes and by the time it was my turn the girl tells me they're closed. This Smoothie King is the tale of two completely different stores. Each time that I've had a good experience, I think I was the only customer. On those occasions, waiting has not an issue, I was greeted with a happy hello, a thank you, and my drinks were made well. However, on the days where even one other customer was there, it was like I was in the mirror universe. The drinks become terribly inconsistent (no flavor, too much ice, not filled, etc.), service slows to a crawl, and the employees seem like they hate me. In fact, it is not uncommon for employees to seem agitated or angry that I am there, and I've even been berated for not choosing quickly enough. That was my last visit, and I cannot imagine going there again. All in all, Smoothie King is great generally, and I recommend it. But, this location is hit or miss, and when they miss, you might get yelled at. So, no, no I do not recommend this location. read more

First time at Smoothie King. The drive-thru was closed at the one near us and my wife, who is sick and getting her appetite back, had a craving for a fruit smoothie this afternoon so I drove to this one at 4929 S Cooper. As I mentioned, I'm a noob when it comes to what to order at Smoothie King. My kids came along because who wouldn't want a cold smoothie on a cold day in Texas. We pull up in the drive-thru, I started to place our order(Pineapple Surf, Lil' Angel, Immune Builder, The Hulk). The person taking my order seemed to immediately grow agitated I did not provide the flavor for the Immune Builder and The Hulk. I didn't realize that the Immune Builder and The Hulk had flavor options. He hollered out over the speaker, "what flavor do you want, man!?". I asked that he address me with respect and a little patience. He grew irate and told me he wasn't going to serve us and I can go down the road to another Smoothie King. When I asked to speak to a manger he said HE WAS THE MANAGER. He also asked that I pull up to the window "so we can talk face to face". This alone can be perceived as threatening language, especially from someone who was just hollering over a speaker at you. I wasn't sure what to expect. When I pulled to the window he started to berate me telling how no one is going to tell him what he can and cannot say. My attempts to deescalate and start over were met with the worst customer service experience I can honestly say I've had all year. The manager didn't seem to agree that in the service industry(especially) you should act courteous and treat customers with civility and respect. He didn't want to hear that and instead kept reminding us that no one tells him what he can and cannot say and subsequently asked for us to "get out of his drive-thru". Unbelievable and all recorded on video. We drove to the location at 3751 Matlock and went in. When it was my turn in line to place an order, the young lady asked politely, "what can I get you, sir?". Talk about a night and day difference in service between two locations just minutes apart! Going off just the reviews of both locations you can really tell the difference in management styles. My family and I will not be back to the S Cooper location. Customer service habits and a culture that cultivates civility and respect begin at the top of the chain and trickle down to the rest of the staff. It's really unfortunate the staff are not being trained up and shown a good example of what good customer service is by the manager at this location. read more

Went by this location around 2:45 today. Spent 15 minutes in the drive through waiting by the time the guy in front of me got to the window he still had to wait. After about 10 minutes of waiting he left and I just left too. Came back around 5:15.pm. These time I went inside. Still the 2 guys working inside where very slow and didn't even greet you are at least tell you it will be a few minutes. So again I had to leave. Will not be back! Store hours show this location closes at 9pm. place a order at 7:50-8:00pm. Get to the location at 8:20-8:25pm. The doors are locked and no one is up front to open the door, tried to go around to the drivethru. They have that closed. I drive around agin to the front of the building and I see 1 manager (short hispanic woman with glasses) and 1 employee (tall hispanic guy) towards the back section of the counter. Had to knock on the door for them to open it. Turns out they didn't even make my order yet "they forgot" I guess. So I had to wait even longer to get something I already ordered that they had more than enough time to prepare before I got there. If your business hours are until 9pm, the door should be unlocked Until at least 10-5 minutes before closing to help customers. Especially the ones that already placed an order. The staff and the manager at this location both need to be retrained to actually do their jobs correctly, as well as keeping the doors open until the listed business hours showing online. I don't normally write reviews, mainly because I'm only 20 years old. But I just feel like I should share my experience because I've never had such bad customer service ever in my life. I walked in and didn't get greeted I just got looked at as if I was entering someone's house. I stood at the counter waiting for at least 5 minutes without anyone even looking my direction. A tall fellow came to the register, I thought he was going to take my order but instead he got a paper towel to wipe his hands and proceeded to walk away ignoring me to go to the restroom instead of excusing himself or saying "someone will be right with you". I'd like to at least thank the guy at the window doing drive thru, he came and took my order and the drive in order at the same time. Why is one person doing 2 Jobs when there is at least 4 or 5 people back there. After ordering my drinks, I thanked them while on my way to walk out the store and no one said ANYTHING it was just dead silent. I proceeded to be nice after I was ignored the first time but for me to be ignored a second time after I say thank you... that's just rude.
