I walked in tonight at approximately 8:49pm and was immediately told they were closed. The woman employee who spoke to me said they already put everything away and were no longer accepting any orders. I accepted that, said thank you, and stepped outside. Literally a moment later, a White woman customer walked in and was allowed to place an order, and they prepared it for her without issue. As a Black woman customer, this experience felt discriminatory and unfair. If the shop was truly closed and no longer accepting any orders, I think that policy should have applied to everyone. I'm disappointed that I wasted my time traveling all the way here for nothing and won't be returning. read more

Came here for a smoothie. It was delicious! It was well worth and I will be returning. If you are in the area and want a smoothie, do yourself a favor and stop in! The gentleman who took our order was awesome! read more

Service was okay, don't expect top quality here. It was 7pm and I went get a smoothie and I expected better being honest. Disappointed to see bananas brown and going bad while my smoothie was being made. Also noticed I was skimped on the protein and had an overall icy drink not a SMOOTHIE. This plans needs to be held to a higher standard, I can tell they don't care about having quality at this store and today they lost a customer forever because of that. read more

This spot never disappoints. There's an abundant amount of flavors and types of smoothies for different health benefits. The smoothies taste excellent and are especially refreshing after a workout. The staff members are consistently nice, helpful, and quick to serve. The atmosphere is small, casual, and clean! read more

Quick, flavorful, and refreshing. I got the 20 oz Strawberry-Kiwi Breeze and it was better than expected. Very light and sweet. For a little over $7, it feels a little pricey but that doesn't take away from how good the smoothie tasted. The workers were polite and efficient in making the smoothie. The shop was clean had some seating for people who wish to linger, but it's more of a "grab and go" sort of place. I would recommended for a quick, fruity treat. read more

One of the best Smoothie Kings in the area! The ladies here are wonderful and my smoothies always come out perfect! I've been to a few in the area and they either lack the flavor or something about the taste is always off but not here! The women are warm welcoming and helpful. Abebech the manager is a sweetheart and so nice. A smoothie wasn't to my liking and she was so accommodating to swap it out for me. I will be coming back because it's so hard to find such service in the hospitality industry! Awesome Job!! read more

I'm a regular here but after today, that may change; unless I get to only deal w/ the two nice ladies who are usually there. The two guys behind the counter today refused to honor the BOGO promotion going on even after showing them the site and the text I received the information from . They told me "it was yesterday" even with the date on the text (6/22/18). I asked them if I could pay for medium and order a small one (as the free one) and they told me I couldn't even do that. They told me the most they could do was give me a $1 discount. I've worked in retail before and I know that if something is advertised -- you honor it. I had evidence and they still argued me down. Horrible customer service. read more

Friends brought me to this smoothie spot. Budget priced smoothies and taste well. Cant go wrong with strawberry banana

Excellent smoothies! Great workers; nice staff and atmosphere . Smoothies are always sweet and good

This Smoothie King Smoothie Sucks. I am so glad Robek's just opened in Shirlington. The Smoothie King crew could take a lesson from them. It's not so much the smoothies; they're fine. The customer service and incompetence in there are atrocious. Once two associates just sat there behind the counter jibber-jabbering while I waited to order a smoothie. I even tried to get a Smoothie King gift card for a friend's birthday and the girl told me they don't sell gift cards when there was a display right in front of the register promoting them. Whoever owns this franchise needs to test for a pulse before hiring employees. read more

It seems like every time I come here in the mornings (0800-0900) there's usually only 1 person working. The line is usually 5+ deep and it takes 30 plus minutes to get my smoothie. Not to mention the one time I was there and I was standing in line waiting to place my order with 2 people behind me. The worker comes over grabs like 5 online orders that just popped up and goes back to make those. Then finally when she finished that came back over grabbed like 5 more, then took my order finally. That was the morning I spent nearly an hour waiting for a single smoothie. read more

Smoothie King - Health Markets Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

I've been on a smoothie kick lately and have been coming to this location a little more often than I have in the past. I tend to order online and drop in to pick up. Today was no different except the quality of my smoothie was very unsatisfactory. My mom and I made the mistake of driving off (to MD) before checking and we were both pretty disappointed with the taste. Mom went in to pick up the smoothies and there was an unusal wait to receive them. I called the location to let them know that we weren't really satisfied with our order today and the lady said "I don't know why you don't like it. We made it well". Now I don't subscribe to the "customer is always right" but I do know that's not the proper response to a complaint. I honestly don't know what a good solution would have been but "put it in the freezer, bring it back, and we'll make another one" after explaining that I couldn't return today just seemed like it wouldn't be worth the gas. So maybe today was an off day but something was certainly lacking. $20 is too much to spend on 2 smoothies only to end up completely unsatisfied. Hoping for a better experience next time. read more

There was a promotion at Pentagon Row. NO purchase was necessary. All one had to do was to leave an entry form with the vendor -- specific stores were designated - I went to them all and left my entry form -- Smoothie King was one of the designated stores. I gave the entry form to the lady behind the counter and left the store. Immediately some guy who works there RAN after me with the entry form yelling "YOU HAVE TO BUY SOMETHING FIRST!!" I went back in and talked to the lady and she was just as nasty. What a lousy attitude and total disregard for 1) the customer 2) the rules!!! WHO wants to buy something from THOSE people??? Not me!!! Smoothie King, you shot yourself in the foot - I'm never going to ANY of your stores. read more

12 dollars for a shake? True, I got it the size of a small building, with a caffeine shot ($.99 extra) but a drink the price of a steak dinner? Reasonable people can get the "small" at 12 ounces for around $5. I'm sorry, I can't get over how expensive this place was. I can make this drink at home, in my blender, and even with the crazy price of fresh fruit in this area, I can still make it at home. Fortunately, I didn't pay for this. Service is nice, and if you can't be bothered with the menu, just tell them what you want and they'll make it. Just suck it up when you see the price. read more

I tried Smoothie King and I must confess that I was not impressed by it. If you like the concoctions on their menu, I'm sure it'll probably be great, like Jennifer described. I, however, wanted something a little simpler: orange juice, strawberries, peaches. No additives, no bananas, just the aforementioned three things. Despite advertising smoothies that are custom-blended to one's order, they gave me a very hard time and insisted that they could not make what I wanted, and instead, gave me a Light & Fluffy, which had bananas, through in some immunity builder powder despite my request for no additives, and the smoothie, to my non-banana fan taste, was lousy. So, it's worth knowing that while this place might be fine and dandy if you like their recipes, they are NOT accomodating to a real custom-blended request. read more

I love smoothies. I prefer the yogurt & real fruit smoothies with the immunity and energy booster added. They pretty much had any or all kinds of smoothies made to order to whatever way you like. However, the smoothies here are kinda pricey compared to Jamba Juice. A large Jamba Juice smoothie (with added boosters) goes around $5 however at Smoothie King I paid around $8. They don't have any Smoothie Kings in San Francisco (at least from what I can tell). I've only found Jamba Juices and their smoothies are delicious. I usually get a large smoothie as a meal replacement since they are usually very filling. Sorry to talk so much about Jamba Juice on a Smoothie King review!!! Smoothie King and Jamba Juice are pretty much the same but if you are on a low budget go with Jamba Juice. Oh, one more thing. Smoothie King has these little customer cards where if you buy a certain amount of smoothies you get a free one however Jamba Juice doesn't have anything like that. read more

So I'm a regular patron of Smoothie King and the price is comparable to most. I'm writing this review after the worst customer service I've had in a while...but there was a glimmer of goodness in this story (that's why I gave the 3 stars). We walk in store to not be greeted with "hello" or "welcome" but to a man behind counter rolling his eyes at a couple looking over the board at their options. A nice girl that worked there came with a smile and offered the couple samples. We stepped up to order and the scowling man punched in order and pointed to other side to go and pay, he also mumbled "over there." Really?!? So I said "well he didn't even let me ask for gift card special." He made the smoothies and tossed them beside the register. Ummm how are we to know which is which smoothie flavor? I'm not great at guessing! He comes to ring us up and I said "ummm excuse but if like to get the gift card with the free smoothie." He says "I can't." What?! I said "no I want the gift card special with free smoothie and I'll use it to pay for the other." Then he says "card" while sticking out his hand to get my credit card. I say "how much is the total?" He then says "$31" but I just told him I wanted to use the $25 gift card to pay for my extra smoothie. He refused so I refused to give my card. He then gets frustrated even more, rips out the receipt and tosses it away. He rings up something else and asks for my card. At this point I asked the nice girl to give me the manager or owner's number. She did and was very polite. The rude male employee was Hicham and refused to speak to us further. Wow! I promptly called the owner Tommy after Hicham goes to the back and sits in a chair where he's still visible. The owner was very apologetic and nice. I was pleasantly surprised. He was shocked and disturbed to hear it. He took my info and asked how he could make it right. Wow! An owner that actually knows customer service. It's rare! I told him I didn't need any freebies but I wanted to make sure Hicham would be reprimanded! I will return but only because the owner listened and validated my concerns. Tiyanna (sorry about the spelling) was also polite in the store, so I won't let one bad apple spoil my view of them. Hicham needs a lesson in customer service or get a job in with no human interaction! Everyone's entitled to a bad day, so I'll chalk it up to that! read more

SUPER expensive for a smoothie that we decided to buy a blender and make our own smoothies...for cheaper and healthier. The place is tiny and the ordering doesn't make sense. You order in the front then move towards the back of the place to pick up your smoothie...huh? Anyways, tiny place, super expensive, but ehh. read more

Are you for real? Is this one of the few smoothie places in NoVa (especially a decent one)? The husband was sweet enough to embark in a mini-roadtrip so that my flu-infested self can relieve her swollen sore throat with a refreshing, nutrient-enriched smoothie. Robust and full of flavor unlike Freshens or The Nature's Table where their smoothies are weak and watered down. And not like EggSpectations where the two types of smoothies I've had tasted like bananas. They might look the same, but each smoothie concoction is distinctive in taste. And I'm sure the immune booster helped me out in feeling much better if not with a less irritated throat. This place needs to be a buck or two cheaper and in my backyard. read more

Alright so I've been to this Smoothie King a fair number of times and have to say overall I am never dissapointed. I love the Smoothies served here and enjoy trying a new one everytime. The employees seem friendly and usually have great customer service. Not only do they have great smoothies but a good variety of different supplements and health snacks. Also I tried a ban/straw (which I usually get from Smoothie King) from the new place Robeks in Shirlington just to compare smoothies. What I got was a half blended ice drink that didnt even taste like ban/straw it was horrible. Although it may be a little pricier then other places like Robeks or Jamba Juice I would definitley recommend this Smoothie King if you want a quality smoothie. read more

I'm trying to eat a bit better and since vegetables are not on my agenda... we go with morning smoothies. The trip is always quick, employees always nice and smoothies always delicious. Win? Win. Me and my hubby always like coming to this location because the staff is always friendly and sometimes they treat you to an extra leftover shot! Like I just received now! It's the little things. You can customize your smoothie to a 'slim down' version, which just means they don't add the turbinado sweetener (100 calories more). I've been doing that lately to my usual orders and there's only a slight difference. Don't really miss it now. Lol read more

My favorite menu item is the pumpkin smoothie, which is unfortunately only a seasonal thing. I always find their flavors to be lacking in comparison to other smoothie places. They're also a bit pricey, best to catch a $5 Friday deal. Parking at this location can also be challenging. read more

I absolutely love this place. To say I'm a regular would be an understatement. Delicious smoothies. Superior customer service. The team is fabulous and always quick and courteous. The parking situation is a dream (LOTS of parking and free!). read more

This place is not following COVID-19 guidelines. The guy who handed me my smoothie wasn't wearing gloves and when I asked him if he had anything to wipe down the cup he had just handed me, he just wet a paper towel using water from the sink and offered it to me. He had a mask but it was hanging around his neck. The other employee was wearing gloves and a mask so I at least hope she was the one who prepared the smoothie. I also opted for curbside pickup. I called the store to let them know I was there. No answer on the first try, on the second try they didn't do anything. Five minutes later, I went inside to pick up my smoothie that had been ready the whole time. This place was a mess and not following any of the protective measures claimed by the website. Will not be going back. read more

Awful. Absolutely awful. The service was slow and not friendly. The smoothie was just... gross. I could only muster the courage to drink about 10 sips of my small banana strawberry smoothie (roughly 1/4 of the smoothie). It was full of sugar and was super runny. And what's more, a small is $5+ dollars. Not even Jamba Juice (which has amazing smoothies, for the record) is that much. I'm not visiting again. read more

This location was great. The lady who helped me was very pleasant. Also a smoothie from here will never fail you. #gethealthyyall lol

Blech. Okay, I go here too often. Most because my girlfriend loves it here. I'm not much of a fan of robecks either. Both use entirely too much sugar (in the form of turbinado, sherbert or whatever else), so that it tastes like desert, and certainly not a health drink. I suggest Juice Joint in Washington for a good smoothie. If you must go here (as I generally must due to my lovely girlfriend) definitely get it skinny, and the caffeine boost makes it taste like crap, but man I love caffeine. read more

Back in the days when I still went to Gold's Gym (NOT anymore - read review to learn why), Smoothie King was a regular pit stop for me afterward. Besides selling the obvious smoothies (which are made with real fruit, fruit juices and enhancers), hence the name, they also sell healthy type snacks like protein bars and protein cookies. They also serve hot drinks, but I never investigated much into that. The reason to go is the smoothies. They offer selections like lowfat, pre-workout, post-workout, Weight Gain (never needed that one), Weight Management (should have drank more of that one) and Immunity Builder. You could also add an enhancer to any of your smoothies, Mine was always Female Balance and my favorite smoothies were from the lowfat selection: Blackberry Dream, Banana Berry Treat and Slim n Trim Orange Vanilla. Go, drink, get healthy!!! read more

Smoothie King is awesome! Just bought a Pineapple Surf. I added blueberry and left out the turbinado (raw sugar). The smoothie tasted great and I had great service. The parking situation was horrible. I drove around for about ten minutes trying to park. The prices are a little high, but not much higher than any other smoothie place in the area. Paid $5.66 for a small (20 ounce). The store was very clean and well organized. I would have given five stars if parking wasn't such a pain. read more

So EXPENSIVE!!! The system they have in this store seems stupid to me. You order in the front then shuffle down the little aisle to the back and pay and wait for your smoothie while bumping into other people that are waiting. Why not just pay while you order then pickup your drink.... If I come here and get one of their "meal replacement shakes" I don't want to pay more then I'd pay for a meal. ugh. read more

CliffsNotes: The size of this Smoothie King relegates this franchise to a stop-and-go. There are only two tables available inside so don't expect to stay long if there's a line. By comparison to Jamba Juice, Juice Joint, Robek's ... I can't help but think Smoothie King is awfully expensive. You don't even get a free booster. Well, a smoothie is a smoothie and there's nothing else available nearby other than Smoothie King. [Original Visit: July 15, 2010] read more
